Abstract: The present invention is for a bi-stable battery switch incorporated preferably for internal use into a remotely switchable storage battery, or, in the alternative, for external use with a battery. A bifurcated contact assembly incorporating dual bus bars is pulse actuated by a solenoid and cam arrangement to engage or disengage across opposing contacts. When engaging the contacts and when associated with high inductive loads, the first bus bar to advance initiates contact and assumes the arcing load, while the second bus bar to advance assumes the current load. When breaking contact and when associated with high inductive loads, the first bus bar to retreat breaks the current load and the second bus bar to retreat breaks the arcing load. Thus, the loads are shared to increase the durability and length of service of the switch.

When the monitor is reset, the monitor is in a detection mode with first and second alarm relay coils energized. If one of the condition sensors detects an abnormal condition, the first alarm relay coil will be de-energized, but the second alarm relay coil will remain energized. This results in both a visual and an audible alarm being activated. If a second alarm condition is detected by another one of the condition sensors while the first condition sensor is still detecting the first alarm condition, both the first alarm relay coil and the second alarm relay coil will be de-energized. With both the first and second alarm relay coils de-energized, both a visual and an audible alarm will be activated.

Abstract: A relay structure advantageous for compacting purpose is disclosed herein. The relay comprises a generally L-shaped yoke having an upright yoke leg and an upper yoke member extending substantially at a right angle thereto, the upright yoke leg being connected to one end of the core of an energizing coil which extends substantially in parallelism with said upper yoke member. The upper yoke member is formed with a center slot extending longitudinally thereof to be open at both longitudinal ends. A generally L-shaped armature is hingedly supported onto the free end of the upper yoke member with a tab extending across the air gap defined between the free end of the upper yoke member and the opposite end of the core. Extended from the upper end of the tab is an actuator arm which is received in said slot and on which overlies a spring blade carrying at its free end a movable contact.

  • Patent number: 4227162
Abstract: An electromagnet relay is disclosed. The relay comprises at least one electromagnet relay-contact assembly and a housing for containing the electromagnet relay-contact assembly. The electromagnet relay-contact assembly comprises at least one contact block including at least one of a normally-open contact and a normally-closed contact, an electromagnet device including a coil wound on an iron core and a relay armature for actuating the contacts by energization of the coil, and lead-out terminals for the contacts and the coil. The bottom wall of the housing is formed with a downwardly-protruded expansion, and a recess is formed in the inner surface of the bottom wall corresponding to the expansion. The electromagnet relay-contact assembly is contained in the inner space of the housing in such a manner that the lower half of the coil is substantially placed within the recess. The lead-out terminals are extended downwardly through longitudinal flat portions connected with the expansion of the bottom wall.

  • Patent number: 4206432
Abstract: The invention relates to a micro relay intended for use in printed circuits provided with two switching-over contacts. The contacts are arranged in the core of the coil, each of the contacts being provided with its own armature fixed on the switching-over spring, thus no motion transfer elements are needed. The contact space is hermetically sealed so that contact properties similar to those of reed relays are achieved both for the make contacts and for the break contacts.

  • Patent number: 4162468
Abstract: An electrical switch wherein the movable contact is resiliently biassed out of engagement with the fixed contact and is movable into engagement with the fixed contact by a rotatable cam. The cam is rotatable by a manual operating member and there is provided an electromagnetic arrangement for moving the cam in the direction of its rotational axis relative to the moving contact. The cam can be rotated in one direction from a rest position to close the movable contact to the fixed contact and can be rotated in the opposite direction to disengage the movable contact from the fixed contact. The cam is also movable axially by the electromagnetic means without reverse rotation of the operating member so as to permit the movable contact to return to its rest position. The cam carries first and second cam forms each of which is capable upon rotation of the cam, of moving the movable contact to engage its fixed contact.
