  • Patent number: 11058166
Abstract: Presented are intelligent electronic footwear and apparel with controller-automated features, methods for making/operating such footwear and apparel, and control systems for executing automated features of such footwear and apparel. A method for automating a collaborative operation between an intelligent electronic shoe (IES) and an intelligent transportation management (ITM) system includes receiving, via a detection tag attached to the IES shoe structure, a prompt signal from a transmitter-detector module communicatively connected to a traffic system controller of the ITM system. In reaction to the received prompt signal, the detection tag transmits a response signal to the transmitter-detector module. The traffic system controller uses the response signal to determine a location of the IES's user, and the current operating state of a traffic signal proximate the user's location.

  • Patent number: 11046247
Abstract: A system and method for determining a probability that a driver will detect a hazard while driving. An eye tracker tracks the driver's forward and non-forward glance durations. A probability calculator categorizes the glance durations into an observation type and selects a transition matrix specific to that observation type. The probability calculator groups the glance durations and observation type into a tuple and calculates a probability that the driver will detect a hazard in the current time segment based on the tuple, the previous time segment's detection state, and the transition matrix. Based on whether the determined probability is above or below a threshold, the current time segment detection state is stored in memory as a detect state (driver is likely to detect a hazard) or a non-detect state (driver is not likely to detect a hazard). The driver is alerted if determined to be in a non-detect state.

Abstract: A method for locating an animal using radio waves. In radiolocation, a large number of possible calculation results for the location of the animal arise. Using the results of previous measurements and calculations with regard to the possible locations of the node to be located, stochastic calculations are used to filter out, from the plurality of the current location calculation results, that result which in fact applies with the highest probability. Acceleration values which are measured at the animal are used in the stochastic calculations. It is assumed that with increasing measured acceleration values the probability increases that there can also be relatively large distances between temporally successive locations of the node to be located.

The set of safe conditions includes a geographic boundary or a geographic location and corresponding threshold distance. The set of safe conditions can also include a time window during which a safe zone is active. When a tracking device is within a safe zone (e.g., geographically and temporally), the tracking device is determined to be safe, and notifications associated with the tracking device can be minimized. Abstract: A tracking system determines a location of a tracking device associated with a user using one or more access points at the location. Each access point at the location is configured to detect and couple with the tracking device when the tracking device is within a communicative range of the access point. An access point provides updates on the tracking device's presence, as well as the tracking device's arrival to and departure from the communicative range of the access point, to a tracking server. The tracking server determines, from these updates, whether the tracking device is at the location. The user may be notified, via a mobile device, of the tracking device's location.
