Abstract: Disclosed are an image display device and a method of controlling an image display device. The image display device includes a motion detection unit for detecting a motion of a user and provides a welcome feedback to the user in the form of a visual signal, an audio signal, or both according to whether the motion of the user is detected or not, thereby drawing attention of the user or switching a display state to reduce power consumption of the image display device. The image display device determines a motion exception event that is not regarded a user motion on the basis of an overall change or a local change in pixel value between image frames, thereby preventing the display panel from being activated by a non-human-related factor such as a sudden change in illuminance or a movement of a periodically operating object.

  • Patent number: 10084960
Abstract: Example apparatus and methods acquire individual frames of a portion of a scene under a variety of different operating parameters. Example apparatus and methods then piece together strips of frames from the individual frames. Example apparatus and methods then produce a panoramic image from the strips of frames. Frames are acquired using different imaging parameters (e.g., focal length, pan position, tilt position) under different imaging conditions (e.g., temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, pan rate, tilt rate). The frames may be acquired by cameras located in a panoramic view image system and in a drone. The drone may provide imagery or data. The imagery or data may be used to update or enhance the panoramic image by, for example, displaying imagery of a blind spot in the panoramic image. In different embodiments, drones may be detected or controlled.

Abstract: Example apparatus and methods acquire individual images under a variety of different operating parameters. Example apparatus and methods then piece together strips of images from the individual images. Example apparatus and methods then produce a panoramic image from the strips of images. A strip of frames is produced without using a hemispherical mirror and thus accounts more accurately for issues associated with making a two dimensional representation of a three dimensional spherical volume. Images are acquired using different imaging parameters (e.g., focal length, pan position, tilt position) under different imaging conditions (e.g., temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, pan rate, tilt rate). Example apparatus and methods correct images using correction data that is related to the operating parameters.

  • Patent number: 9874341
Abstract: A sensor module for a lighting fixture includes a module housing configured to be mounted to a lighting fixture, a light sensor mounted in the module housing, and a sensor cover over the light sensor. The sensor cover includes a first surface oriented to face a task surface within an area of interest, and a second surface opposite the first surface. The first surface includes a first Fresnel lens having a number of Fresnel ridges oriented in a first direction. The second surface includes a second Fresnel lens having a number of Fresnel ridges oriented in a second direction, which is different from the first direction. Providing the first Fresnel lens and the second Fresnel lens with differently oriented Fresnel ridges allows the sensor cover to focus light from a relatively large portion of the task surface to the light sensor while remaining small.

Abstract: A content delivery system and method for use with plurality of digital multimedia data processing systems and legacy systems spanning across one or more network environments. The system and method enable users with freedom of mobility while maintaining access to the user's selected content while the user transitions from one device in one location to a different device in a difference location, substantially without interruption and without the need for user action to turn on and off these target data processing systems. The Instant Invention can provide high bandwidth content delivery solutions based upon hardware and software components by activating a target device while the system is proximate to the target device and, in one embodiment, automatically redirecting the content while the system is proximate to a new target device without user intervention.

Abstract: A system includes an external light supply to a silicon photonic chip. The light supply includes a primary light source, a secondary light source, an optical coupler, an optical splitter, and a dark sensor. The optical coupler is to combine any output from the primary light source and any output from the secondary light source into an input to the silicon photonic chip. The optical splitter is located in an optical path between the primary light source and the optical coupler, and is to divert part of the output from the primary light source. The dark sensor is to receive the diverted part of the output from the primary light source and to selectively activate the secondary light source based on the diverted part of the output from the primary light source.

  • Patent number: 9024760
Abstract: An ultrasonic occupancy sensor for detecting presence or absence of an occupant in a space includes an ultrasonic receiving circuit having a synchronous rectifier that allows the circuit to detect small-magnitude ultrasonic waves having a Doppler shift. The sensor comprises an ultrasonic transmitter for transmitting ultrasonic waves at an ultrasonic operating frequency, and a controller that drives the transmitting circuit with complementary drive signals to control the ultrasonic operating frequency. The synchronous rectifier receives the drive signals from the controller and rectifies an amplified input signal to generate a rectified signal, which is filtered by a filter to generate a filtered signal. The controller receives the filtered signal and determines that the space is occupied if the magnitude of the filtered signal exceeds a threshold.
