Abstract: Notifications for a group of portable communication device users are provided based on a meeting of two or more users. A current location of each member is obtained and it is determined whether two or more of the members are in a similar location by comparing the current locations. The notification is automatically generated, the notifications including information regarding the context of the meeting and one or more of the location of the meeting, the identities of the users at the meeting, a time of the meeting, and a status of the meeting. The notification is transmitted to other users in the group, the other users being users in the group that are not at the meeting location. An automatic response may be performed based on the context of the meeting.

  • Patent number: 9654620
Abstract: Systems and methods which detect unauthorized, impermissible, or otherwise undesired call activity through the use of one or more third party databases are shown. For example, a controlled environment facility information management system may access a database external thereto, such as a victim notification database, which is created and maintained by a third party unrelated to the controlled environment facility. Such third party database access may be accomplished at the point of call validation or caller verification for determining the treatment of the call (e.g., allowed, blocked, allowed with limitations, etcetera). Such call treatment determinations may be made with respect a particular prisoner or other resident of the controlled environment facility making the call, may be made with respect to all calls made from a particular controlled environment facility, may be made with respect to a group of controlled environment facilities, etcetera.

  • Patent number: 9649073
Abstract: Systems and methods can support usage modeling and the intelligent management of patient alarms. An alarm management system can maintain models of patient alarm operations. Modeling parameters related to clinical user behavior and modeling parameters related to alarm context can be incorporated into the models of patient alarm operations. The models of patient alarm operations can inform rules associated with intelligent alarm management. The rules may be applied to the presentation of alarms to the clinical users via mobile computing devices. The rules may also be applied to the interpretation of alarm responses from the clinical users. The rules may be adapted by the alarm management system to improve metrics of alarm efficacy and/or metrics of patient health outcomes.

  • Patent number: 9564036
Abstract: A system and method that detects a presence of a child in a car seat comprises a pad and a receiver. The pad comprises a communication element, a unique identifier, a power source, a switch configured to adapt a power state from “off” to “on” by means of a child closing the switch disposed between the pad's power source and the pad's communication element. The receiver comprises an analysis element storing the unique identifier of at least one pad and a communication element in communication with at least one pad when the pad is powered “on”. The receiver determines a presence state of a child in the car seat when the receiver is in communication with the powered pad. The receiver determines the presence state when the receiver loses communication with the pad. The receiver further generates notifications with the determined child's presence state in the car seat.

  • Patent number: 9549705
Abstract: A person monitoring system is operable to predict the onset of an adverse condition of a person. The system receives first information corresponding to a feature of a person support apparatus and second information corresponding to a physiological characteristic of the person. The system calculates a condition score as a function of the first and second information. In some instances, the system alerts a caregiver if the condition score exceeds a predetermined threshold. Alternatively or additionally, the person monitoring system alerts a caregiver when a person supported on a person support apparatus is regaining consciousness by monitoring one or more of a change in position, a heart rate, and a respiration rate. A person monitoring system that monitors a person's quality of sleep and presents information concerning the quality of sleep to one or more interested parties is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9524480
Abstract: The present invention relates to a hygiene behaviour support system for enhancing a person's hand hygiene after a toilet visit. Visual LED indicators are provided on a water tap, soap dispenser, paper dispenser and disinfectant dispender to attract the attention of the user to the respective item. Sensors on the items activate the dispensers and register completion of each task, in order to activate the next indicator on the next item, thereby sequentially guiding the user through a complete hygiene procedure. The disinfectant dispenser is connected with the closing mechanism of the door, so that only after the disinfectant is sensed to have been dispensed, the door will open.

Abstract: Systems and methods may include receiving first motion data corresponding to a first object and receiving second motion data corresponding to a second object. The systems and methods may include determining whether the second object is following the first object based on the first motion data and the second motion data. The systems and methods may include receiving additional information corresponding to the second object. The systems and methods may include determining whether the second object poses a risk to the first object based on the additional information. The systems and methods may include performing processes in response to determining that the second object is following the first object and poses a risk to the first object. Such processes may include providing a notification to a subscribing party. The notification may indicate that the second object is following the first object and poses a risk to the first object.
