  • Patent number: 11176822
Abstract: A computer system can determine historical interval data of a freight operator from completed freight service requests associated with the freight operator. Additionally, while the freight operator is fulfilling a current freight service request, the computer system can determine at least a first likely downtime interval for a non-operating activity of the freight operator prior to the freight operator arriving at a pickup location or a destination location of the current freight service request, based on the historical interval data. Also, the computer system can determine an estimated arrival time for the freight operator to arrive at the pickup location or the destination location of the current freight service request, based at least in part on the first likely down time interval. Moreover, the computer system can update a record associated with the freight operator to reflect the estimated arrival time.

Abstract: Location-based notification includes establishment of a rally point and subsequent notification of a user when another user enters the rally point. Senders may set up rally points at various physical locations and specify one or more target recipients that are to be notified when the sender enters the rally point. Target recipients may specify communication settings that dictate whether and/or how they wish to receive notifications under a variety of circumstances. When a sender having a computing device enters a rally point location, a notification is sent from the computing device to a location-based notification service, which notifies each of the target recipients in a manner that complies with the target recipient's individual communication settings.

  • Patent number: 11138310
Abstract: Devices and nodes associated with a vehicle may communicate using a higher-level, common messaging protocol over an ad-hoc network to publish and subscribe to services, even though different nodes may utilize different types of links and channels. The network includes a rules node that is fixedly connected to the vehicle and that stores a set of rules. Given a possible publisher, subscriber, and/or a service, a node action is allowed or denied based on the set of rules. The rules may be generated or updated based on priorities, security levels, and/or characteristics of publishers, subscribers, their respective users, and/or services; a current dynamic condition; and/or user input. The rules node and at least one other node may be transported by the vehicle, and both transported nodes and nodes external to the vehicle may use the common messaging protocol to join the ad-hoc network, discover other nodes, authenticate, and publish/consume services.

Abstract: Disclosed is method including receiving digital vessel data for a global fleet of vessels, the digital vessel data being one or more of AIS data, image data or radar data and combining one or more of pieces of data. The method includes inferring, based on the first combined data, a loaded/empty status of a vessel or a cargo. The method includes combining other data to yield second combined data, receiving data regarding one or more of supply, demand, and amount of available cargo to yield third combined data, generating information relating to a supply of vessels available to load at a specified port and/or deliver a cargo to a specified port, in each case within a specified period of time and generating suggestions for one or more vessels regarding future routes based on the data.

  • Patent number: 10082793
Abstract: A multi-mode transportation system and method are provided in which a scheduler service (SS) generates an initial transportation schedule (TS) including a list of transport legs where transport over one or more transport legs is via an autonomous vehicle (AV) from an initial scheduled pick-up location (ISPUL) at an initial scheduled pick-up time (ISPUT). The SS monitors for any changes to the initial TS, and if any are detected, updates the initial TS based on the changes to generate a current TS that includes a currently scheduled pick-up time (CSPUT) and a currently scheduled pick-up location (CSPUL) for the transport leg. The CSPUT/CSPUL can be the same as or different than the ISPUT/ISPUL depending on whether or not there were changes to the ISPUT/ISPUL. An AV can be selected from the fleet of AVs and automatically controlled to arrive at the CSPUL to pick-up the passenger by the CSPUT.

Abstract: A method and system for automatically creating a unique driver profile for a vehicle from driving habits. A unique driver profile is created with a portable on-board diagnostic series 2 (OBD-2) apparatus and/or linked and/or standalone network device (e.g., smart phone, tablet, wearable device, etc.). The unique driver profile is created from the accepted plural signals including time and geo-location data based on driving habits of the driver. The unique driver profile information is recorded on the apparatus and/or network device, downloaded at a later time or sent in real-time to check and verify an identity of the driver. The unique driver profile helps confirm an identity of the driver of the vehicle based on unique driving habits of the driver.

  • Patent number: 10039022
Abstract: A passive intermodulation detection system is provided to remotely identify passive intermodulation at a base station site and diagnose the type of intermodulation and location of the non-linearity that is the source of the passive intermodulation. The passive intermodulation detection system can generate a test signal in a first band that is transmitted by an antenna. Another antenna can receive a signal in another band, and the passive intermodulation detection system can analysis the received signal to determine whether an intermodulation product due to a non-linearity is present. Based on the type of intermodulation product, period, order, frequency, and etc., the type and location of the non-linearity can be identified.

Abstract: The disclosed embodiments illustrate method and system for managing a dispatch of vehicles based on generation of a dispatch schedule. The method includes generating a dispatch schedule for one or more vehicles at one or more time instants based on a first demand for the one or more vehicles along a route. For a current time instant, the method includes predicting a second demand for the one or more vehicles at each of the one or more stations, at time instants subsequent to the current time instant, based on a current demand. The method further includes updating the dispatch schedule by varying the count of vehicles to be dispatched from the first station based at least on the second demand. Further, the method includes transmitting a notification to a computing device installed in each of the one or more vehicles.

  • Patent number: 9872163
Abstract: An apparatus and method is disclosed to receive location data identifying the current location of a vehicle. A database, storing radio device records, is then queried. Each radio device record in the database identifies a radio device (e.g., a transmitter, receiver, transceiver, transponders, etc.) and a location of the radio device using a suitable coordinate system. Radio device records associated with radio devices likely to be within communication range of the vehicle may then be retrieved from the database. These radio device records may be used to generate a radio device list that may be presented to an occupant of the vehicle.
