With Transformation Or Rectification Patents (Class 348/147)
  • Patent number: 5412421
Abstract: A sensor produces signals corresponding to positions of objects within a field of view over time. A motion detector is provided for determining movement of the sensor. Signals from the sensor and the detector go to a processing unit which causes an appropriate modification of the signal received from the sensor to compensate for the movement.

  • Patent number: 5335070
Abstract: A new and improved laser light beam homogenizer for transforming a laser beam with spatially inhomogeneous intensity into a beam with a more nearly spatially uniform intensity pattern is presented. The light beam is diverged by a lens and presented to an integrator. The integrator transforms the beam into a beam with a more uniform illumination. The uniform illumination beam is then impinged on control optics to limit the divergence of the uniform beam and control higher order distortion in the system. This beam may then be illuminated at a predetermined distance by a projecting optic lens. The laser light beam homogenizer of this invention is particularly well suited for use in an imaging lidar system.

  • Patent number: 5329310
Abstract: A method and apparatus for displaying an image that is subject to multiple distortions substantially without distortion is provided. The image is recorded from a first viewpoint and subject to a first distortion and played back from a second viewpoint and subject to a second distortion. The display surface may also be distorted (e.g., curved). By mapping back through the projector to the screen and through the camera (at the viewpoint), the image is transformed so that it can be viewed from the viewpoint with little or no distortion.

  • Patent number: 5317394
Abstract: An imaging system utilizes a plurality of sensors capable of sensing objects within a field of view about a sight line. At least two sensors have different sight lines with the sight lines having known relative positions. Each sensor produces signals corresponding to positions of objects within a field of view over time. At least one sensor signal memory receives those signals and stores them in a manner enabling concurrent access to signals received from any selected combination of sensors. The processing unit and associated memory contain at least one program for selecting sensor signals from a sensor signal memory. Preferably motion detectors are provided for determining vibration, flexure or movement of each sensor. A normalizing means is preferably provided to adjust the sensor or make an appropriate modification of the signal received from the sensor.
