Patent number: 12008902Abstract: In a method of detecting a parkable space using only a sonar installed on a side of a vehicle, automatic parking assistance cannot be implemented at an early stage, and an environment in which automatic parking assistance is possible is limited. In a parking assistance device including a parkable space setting unit that sets a parkable space existing ahead of the vehicle based on information from a front detector, the parkable space setting unit corrects the parkable space based on information on the parkable space acquired by a side detector when the vehicle passes by the parkable space.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 2019Date of Patent: June 11, 2024Assignee: HITACHI ASTEMO, LTD.Inventors: Koji Takahashi, Sara Suda

Patent number: 12007781Abstract: A vehicle agnostic removable pod can be mounted on a vehicle using one or more legs of a pod mount. The removable pod can collect and time stamp a variety of environmental data as well as vehicle data. For example, environmental data can be collected using a sensor suite which can include an IMU, 3D positioning sensor, one or more cameras, and/or a LIDAR unit. As another example, vehicle data can be collected via a CAN bus attached to the vehicle. Environmental data and/or vehicle data can be time stamped and transmitted to a remote server for further processing by a computing device.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 2023Date of Patent: June 11, 2024Assignee: AURORA OPERATIONS, INC.Inventors: Nathaniel Gist, IV, Christopher Williams

Patent number: 11999393Abstract: An assembly monitors exterior regions of a rail vehicle. In the region of the front side of the rail vehicle, a driver's cab is arranged, which driver's cab has a driver's cab field of view in a first direction of travel. A first lateral region has a first camera system oriented in the direction of travel, which optically captures an angular range along the first lateral region as a first lateral field of view. A second lateral region has a second camera system oriented in the direction of travel, which captures an angular range along the second lateral region as a second lateral field of view. The first and second camera systems are connected to a display device so that image series of the lateral fields of view in the first direction of travel are displayed to the traction vehicle driver in addition to the drivers cab field of view.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2019Date of Patent: June 4, 2024Assignee: Siemens Mobility GmbHInventor: Markus Mehlan

Patent number: 12002359Abstract: A communication method for a vehicle dispatch system includes a communication apparatus configured to control communication between a first apparatus and a second apparatus. The first apparatus and the second apparatus are capable of information exchange with each other. The communication apparatus includes a processor. The processor operates to: acquire a position of a boarding point for a user and a current position of a target vehicle to be dispatched to the user; at identification timing at which a determination is made that the current position of the target vehicle belongs to a predetermined area defined with reference to the position of the boarding point, generate target vehicle information using a captured image captured by one or more cameras of the target vehicle; and transmit the target vehicle information to the second apparatus. The second apparatus operates to display the received target vehicle information on a display.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 2018Date of Patent: June 4, 2024Assignee: Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Masayasu Suzuki, Masahide Nakamura, Masaki Watanabe, Daisuke Saito

Patent number: 11999295Abstract: A lamp system includes a road surface drawing lamp that illuminates a road surface with a beam BM, and a lamp controlling unit that controls the road surface drawing lamp and draws, with the beam BM, a pattern PTN on the road surface ahead of a vehicle. The lamp controlling unit draws a first pattern before a start of a predetermined event and draws a second pattern at the start of the event. The first pattern includes first information to be presented in advance to a driver to allow the driver to respond to the event, and the second pattern includes second information corresponding to the event.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 2022Date of Patent: June 4, 2024Assignee: KOITO MANUFACTURING CO., LTD.Inventor: Naoki Tatara

Patent number: 11993274Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method performed by a luminance assessment system of a vehicle for monitoring of on-board vehicle image capturing device functionality compliance with a predeterminable requirement level. The luminance assessment system obtains at respective one or more time instants (t1, t2, t3), a first image and a second image. A first section of the first images and a second section of the second images respectively cover a primary region. A first luminance value of the first section and a second luminance value of the second section are measured. A luminance deviation is determined by comparing at least one of the first luminance values to at least one of the second luminance values. A determination is made that, when the luminance deviation exceeds a deviation threshold, the first image capturing device or the second image capturing device failed to function according to the requirement level.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 2020Date of Patent: May 28, 2024Assignee: Zenuity ABInventors: Robert Krutsch, Valor Yaldo

Patent number: 11997343Abstract: Systems and method are provided for detecting latency in radio frequency connections. A computing device can detect, at a first time, light using an optical sensor and receive, at a second time, a first data packet over a connection with a first wireless device. The computing device may define a first signal latency value based on the first time and the second time. The computing device may then receive a media stream that includes a video component and an audio component and modify a presentation of the media stream by delaying the video component by a time interval based on the first signal latency value.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 2022Date of Patent: May 28, 2024Assignee: VIZIO, INC.Inventors: Kishore Tallapaneni, Maksym Shestirko, Rammohan Somalraju, Oleksandr Blazhko, W.
