  • Patent number: 11829945
Abstract: An event at a shelf, such as a user interacting with items on the shelf, may be detected using sensors associated with the shelf. Hypotheses to describe the event are generated based on the collected sensor data. However, hypotheses determined based on only one type of sensor data may not have a confidence value that is sufficiently reliable. Hypotheses derived from different sensor types may be combined to generate new hypotheses that have higher confidence values. For example, hypotheses based on image data may be combined with hypotheses based on weight data to produce hypotheses with higher confidence values that are sufficiently reliable. A hypothesis, from the set of combined hypotheses, having the highest confidence value may then be used to describe the interaction at the shelf, such as identifying the item and quantity of item the user interacted with during the event.

  • Patent number: 11037307
Abstract: A method and an electronic apparatus for comparing tracking object are provided. The method applies an edge detection to a template image and a candidate image to generate a template edge image and a candidate edge image respectively. A vertical template edge image and a horizontal edge template image caused by summing (or averaging) the pixel values of the template image horizontally and vertically are used to compare with the summing (or averaging) pixel values of the horizontal/vertical candidate edge images. A measurement in the comparison is based on the positions of partial horizontal candidate edge image and the partial vertical candidate edge image. The method determines that a region of the candidate image has the tracking object according to the vertical coordinate information and the horizontal coordinate information.

  • Patent number: 10984640
Abstract: An audio/video (A/V) recording and communication device includes a camera, a passive infrared (PIR) sensor, and a light sensor. A method receives a PIR sensor output signal from the PIR sensor, receives image data from the camera, and receives a light sensor output signal from the light sensor. The method determines, using the light sensor output signal and at least one of the PIR sensor output signal and the image data whether to activate recording of the image data, and upon determining to activate recording of the image data, generates an alert. The method transmits the alert to a client device associated with the A/V recording and communication device.

  • Patent number: 10957171
Abstract: A computing system obtains a first category for a first motion event. The system sends a first alert indicative of the first category to a user. After sending the first alert, it obtains a second category for a second motion event. In accordance with a determination that the second category is the same as the first category, the system determines whether a third motion event of the first category has been detected in a preceding predetermined amount of time before the second motion event. If the third motion event has not been detected in the preceding predetermined amount of time before the second motion event, the system sends a second alert associated with the second motion event indicative of the first category to the user. If the third motion event has been detected in the preceding predetermined amount of time before the second motion event, the system forgoes sending the second alert.
