The first alignment layer includes reactive mesogens polymerized to each other and is disposed between the first substrate and the liquid crystal layer. The second alignment layer is disposed between the second substrate and the liquid crystal layer. Among the liquid crystal molecules, first liquid crystal molecules disposed in the vicinity of the first alignment layer have a first pretilt angle, and second liquid crystal molecules disposed in the vicinity of the second alignment layer have a second pretilt angle different from the first pretilt angle.
