Abstract: Disclosed are systems, computer-readable mediums, and methods for determining a text contains Chinese, Japanese, or Korean characters. A document image is received and binarized. The binarized document image is searched for connected components. A plurality of fragments is identified based on the connected components. A language hypothesis for each fragment of the plurality of fragments is determined. The language hypothesis has a probability rating. A subset of fragments from the plurality of fragments having the highest probability ratings is selected. The language hypothesis of each fragment in the subset of fragments is verified. A determination of the presence of Chinese, Japanese, or Korean characters is made based at least on the verification of the language hypothesis of the subset of fragments.

Abstract: A device for registration of content in a filled-out application form is disclosed. The device is configured for scanning at least one portion of the filled-out application form. The device is configured for extracting filled-out content from the scanned form. The geometrical features of the master form are retrieved. The master form includes one or more anchor fields. Each anchor field has one or more anchor zones and at least one anchor segment. At least one anchor segment has global adjustment parameters and geometrical features. The extracted filled-out content is related to the retrieved geometrical features of a master form to create a new geometrical representation of the extracted filled-out content of the scanned application form. The new representation of the filled-out content based on the global adjustment parameters for the at least one anchor segment is globally adjusted. The globally adjusted filled-out content based on the geometrical features for the anchor segments is locally adjusted.

Abstract: A computing device presents a cluster visualization based on a neural network computation. First centroid locations are computed for first clusters. Second centroid locations are computed for second clusters. Each centroid location includes a plurality of coordinate values where each coordinate value relates to a single variable of a plurality of variables. Distances are computed pairwise between each centroid location. An optimum pairing is selected based on a minimum distance of the computed pairwise distances where each pair is associated with a different cluster of a set of composite clusters. Noised centroid location data is created. A multi-layer neural network is trained with the noised centroid location data. A projected centroid location is determined in a multidimensional space for each centroid location as values of hidden units of a middle layer of the multi-layer neural network. A graph is presented for display that indicates the determined, projected centroid locations.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention include a computer system and computer program product for implementing encryption of data. A computer system determines that a first data field of a plurality of data fields of a web form requires encryption. The computer system tags the first data field with one or more HTML encryption tags. The computer system displays the web form to a user. The computer system receives user input, wherein at least a portion of the user input is contained in the first data field of the web form. The computer system encrypts the first data field on a first computer, wherein a first user specific encryption key is associated with at least the first data field. The computer system inserts the encrypted first data field into at least one record stored on a second computer.

Abstract: An image matching technique locates feature points in a template image such as a logo and then does the same in a test image. Feature points of a template image are determined under various transformations and used to determine a set of composite feature points for each template image. The composite feature points are used to determine if the template image is present in a test image. A covering set for a template image is used to optimize processing of test images.

Abstract: A facsimile apparatus includes a data receiver, a data transmitter, and a controller. The controller receives facsimile data from another facsimile apparatus through the data receiver, the facsimile data including related information. The controller outputs a screen on which at least one forwarding destination related to the related information of the received facsimile data is displayed in preference to at least one forwarding destination which does not relate to the related information of the received facsimile data. The controller forwards the received facsimile data through the data transmitter to at least one of the at least one forwarding destination designated on the screen.

Abstract: An information management system is described comprising one or more workstations running applications which allow a user of the workstation to connect to a network, such as the Internet. Each application has an analyzer, which monitors transmission data that the application is about to transmit to the network or has just received from the network, and which determines an appropriate action to take regarding that data. The analyzer may consult policy data containing a supervisor-defined policy to govern the workstations in order to determine what action to take.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided. A sending device offers to provide a graphic image to a receiving device by way of a network. The receiving device responds by providing desired parameters including an overall file size to the sending device. A data file formatted according to the desired parameters is provided to the receiving device. The sending device or another entity can be the source of the data file.

Abstract: A method (250) for signaling a facsimile pass through mode over a voice over internet protocol voice service is disclosed. The method (250) includes: establishing (260) a voice over internet protocol call; detecting (270) that a facsimile tone has been received by a sender; and sending (280) a facsimile pass through notify message, from the sender, in response to detecting that the facsimile tone has been received. Advantageously, the method 250 can be adapted to inform the voice over internet protocol service provider about the details of an ongoing facsimile call in pass through mode. After the user has taken a first image and before the user takes a second image in a different orientation of the electronic device (and, thus, the imaging sensor), the electronic device captures multiple images of the document. Then, the electronic device stores the images with associated timestamps. The controller generates second print data of a processed image in which the retrieved particular sub-image is disposed at the retrieved disposing position. The controller controls the second printing unit to print the processed image on a second recording medium based on the second print data.
