    Abstract: Disclosed is an electronic device card socket capable of preventing the breakage of a hinge and preventing noise (static), which is caused by movement between respective parts, in the tray-type card socket. The electronic device card socket according to one embodiment of the present disclosure includes a socket housing, a socket cover, an ejecting hinge part, and ejecting bar, and a movement preventing means. The socket housing has a space into which a tray equipped with a card is inserted. The socket cover is provided at the upper part of the socket housing. The ejecting hinge part is rotatably hinge-coupled to one side of the socket housing so as to push the tray forward and separate the same when the ejecting hinge part rotates. The ejecting bar is provided at the other side of the socket housing so as to move in the forward and backward directions, and is connected to the ejecting hinge part so as to rotate the ejecting hinge part when the ejecting bar moves forward and backward.

The squeeze bearing comprises multiple cantilevered arms with one end fixed to a support ring assembly and the other end having one or more vibrational element which, when vibrating, provides the bearing force. At least one of the vibrational elements is configured at an angle to the disk rim and which, when vibrating, provides a tangential force to rotate the disk for HDD operational purposes. Therefore, such a squeeze bearing provides an integrated solution for bearing and rotating the disk(s) of an HDD, thereby eliminating the need for a liquid-based disk spindle motor system.

    Abstract: A hard disk drive includes a base member, a disk which is a data storage medium to rotate at a high speed on the base member, and a head stack assembly (HSA) having a head slider including a magnetic head to write data on the disk or to reproduce data recorded on the disc, and an ABS pattern formed on a disk facing surface of the head slider to generate a lifting force, and is rotatably mounted on the base member so that the head slider moves between inner circumferences and outer circumferences of the disk in a floating state over the disc, wherein if a center line of the ABS pattern is an ABS line and a straight line extending in a direction in which an air flow induced due to the high speed rotation of the disk enters the ABS pattern is an air flow line, a crossing angle between the ABS line and the air flow line is reduced as the head slider moves from the outer circumferences to the inner circumferences.

    Abstract: A magnetic head according to one embodiment includes a side gap layer comprising primarily silicon nitride, wherein outer sides of the side gap layer taper away from one another from a leading end of the side gap layer towards a trailing end of the side gap layer; a seed layer above the silicon nitride side gap layer; and a magnetic pole on the seed layer. A method for forming a magnetic head according to one embodiment includes etching a channel in a silicon oxide layer; forming a side gap layer comprising primarily silicon nitride in the channel; forming a seed layer above the side gap layer; plating a pole on the seed layer; and removing the silicon oxide layer by wet etching. Additional systems and methods are also presented.
