  • Patent number: 6254262
Abstract: A signaling lamp allows improved serviceability and dependability. The lamp includes a light source, housing, backing and removable sealing mechanism. The housing includes a casing for coupling the housing to the backing, and a lens with a plurality of convex nodes along the interior surface for more efficiency collecting light from the light source. The modular structure and a pigtail socket achieve improved serviceability by allowing components to be individually replaceable and by increasing connectivity. Gaskets and an o-ring in conjunction with an o-ring slot formed in the backing of the lamp enhance sealing of the components. A heat sink on the backing operates to remove heat from the interior of the lamp. A current draw circuit and LED-based light source reduce the current draw to allow the lamp to use the standard battery from the primary vehicle as a power source.

  • Patent number: 6227684
Abstract: The luminaire has a concave reflector (1) with an optical axis (3) in a plane of symmetry (2), suitable to receive an elongate light source transverse to said plane (2). The reflector (1) is composed of flat facets (10,10′) which are bounded by first parallel planes (8) which are transverse to the plane of symmetry (2), and which facets (10,10′) are arranged in rows (11,11′) by second planes (9) which are parallel to the plane of symmetry (2). The first planes (8) are at an acute angle to a light emission window (5). The reflector (1) touches the window (5) at one side of the axis (3) and is extended by a light reflecting screen (7) up to said window (5) at the opposite side of the axis (3). The luminaire can be used to illuminate sports fields, the light emission window (5) being directed downwards, has a sharp cut-off angle and prevents stray light above the horizontal.

Abstract: An artificial floating candle that mimics real burning candles. The floating candle comprises two parts, a floating candle-like device and an electrical circuit that controls the amount of power supplied to each floating candle. The floating candle-like device comprises an incandescent lamp, a lamp housing socket, a candle, a candle base, grommets or O-rings, at least two conductor insulated wires, a multi conductor, a trunk line, a water tight splice, and a candle enclosure. There are three sections that comprise the electrical circuitry of the floating candles: a low voltage supply (AC to DC, high to low voltage conversion), a pulse width modulation programmed micro-controller and a power output section (to control the incandescent lamp voltage to produce flickering flames), and trunk and feeder lines. The floating candles may be used as Christmas lights, at wedding reception halls, amusements parks, or in pools or ponds at evening parties as decoration.

Abstract: A vehicular lighting fixture having an improved appearance, wherein a lamp body and a lens are welded to each other and the inner face of the lamp body is subjected to a surface treatment. The vehicular lighting fixture (1) includes a lamp body (2) having a recess (3) with a front opening, a lens (8) attached to the lamp body (2) in such a manner as to cover the front opening, and a bulb (12) disposed in a lighting fixture space (10) defined by the lamp body (2) and the lens (8). The inner face (13) of the lamp body (2) is subjected to a surface treatment and the lamp body (2) and the lens (8) are connected with each other through their respective welding legs (6 and 9). A groove (7) is formed as a stepped portion inwardly of the welding leg (6) formed on the lamp body (2) to position a masking jig which masks the welding leg of the lamp body from the surface treatment. Also, the width of the legs (6 and 9) are different from each other.

  • Patent number: 6200005
Abstract: A xenon ceramic lamp comprising a short-arc lamp with two integral reflectors disposed around the cathode arc ball to collect a wide range of elevation angles of light relative to the center longitudinal axis. The two integral reflectors and the cathode arc ball are within the same sealed volume of the lamp. A first reflector, generally below a common first focus, is a concave elliptical type for projecting light out through a sapphire window to a second focus. A second reflector, generally above the first focus, is a concave spherical type having its focus just offset from the first focus. Therefore, light rays may be emitted at nearly all angles from the cathode arc ball that will be reflected or back reflected by the elliptical and spherical reflectors.
