Abstract: A light assembly with a removable reflector for use in a ceiling, wall, or the like is provided. The reflector has a top surface with a substantially hurricane-shaped mounting aperture defined by a primary diameter and a secondary diameter that intersect each other and in which the primary diameter is greater than the secondary diameter. When the reflector is rotated, the secondary diameter approaches a holding key in the light assembly, which engages the top surface to releasably hold the reflector within the light assembly. A method of releasably installing the reflector is also described.

  • Patent number: 6688758
Abstract: An apparatus for generating linear patterns of light comprises a light source emitting a first light beam. An anamorphic system is positioned downstream of the light source and is adapted to receive the first light beam of the light source for concentrating the first light beam such that the first light beam would project a first linear pattern on a far field. A diffractive optical element is positioned downstream of the anamorphic system for receiving and diffusing the first light beam of the anamorphic system a plurality of second light beams. The plurality of second light beams overlap one another at least partially so as to project a second linear pattern on the far field of altered intensity with respect to the first linear pattern.

Abstract: An improved cabinet lamp has a switch located on one side of a lamp holder to facilitate user operation. The cabinet lamp consists of an upper lid and a lamp holder. The lamp holder has a pushbutton switch located on one side and an anchor lug located on the other side for engaging with a screw to fasten the lamp holder to a top surface of the cabinet. The cabinet lamp may be installed easily by users without removing the upper lid. The plug does not need to be removed or inserted frequently when in use, thus has a longer life span.

Abstract: A luminaire comprising an optical assembly that has a mounting interface. A socket holder has a mounting member that is adapted to mount the socket holder to the mounting interface of the optical assembly. First and second proximate surfaces are adapted to support a socket and a light source in first and second orientations, respectively. The socket holder defines a central axis. A longitudinal axis is defined by the socket and the light source in the first orientation is substantially parallel to the central axis of the socket holder and a longitudinal axis of the socket and the light source in the second orientation is angled with respect to the central axis of the socket holder.

  • Patent number: 6671005
Abstract: A light display system for projecting digitally generated light beams onto a stage display, comprising a housing rotatable about at least one axis, a deformable mirror device (DMD) having a surface comprising an array of deformable mirror cells, the DMD being mounted in the housing, a light source mounted in the housing for directing a light beam in an optical path that impinges upon the surface of the DMD, and digital control signals to the DMD for digitally activating selected deformable mirror cells of the DMD to reflect digitally selected light beams onto the stage display having the optical effect of a continuous moving image or images. The housing is rotatable about a second axis transverse to the first axis. Coloring devices can be mounted in the housing.

  • Patent number: 6655811
Abstract: A theft-proof removable door handle illumination device having a base, a door handle illumination assembly, and a case supporting the assembly. The base is operable to be mounted on a mounting surface. The door handle illumination assembly is operable to provide illumination. The case and base are removably interconnected such that disconnection of the case from the base requires movement of the case in a disconnect direction that is at least substantially parallel to the mounting surface. The case and base cooperate when interconnected to prevent movement of the case in a direction generally perpendicular to the disconnect direction. With this arrangement, the device is easily associated with a door assembly so that movement of the case in the disconnect direction is permitted only when the door is open. The case, once removed, can be used for illumination purposes apart from the door (e.g., a flashlight).
