Abstract: A Rotary thermal processor for particulate materials has a rotating drum and a rotating hollow auger. A stationary cylindrical oven with stationary coils surrounds the rotating drum. Hot gas heats a first part of the oven, coil and drum. A rotating hollow auger is heated with hot fluid from the coils. Oven exhaust sweeps evaporated and volatized components of the treated materials to separators and a thermal oxidizer. Cleaned gas from the thermal oxidizer heats a second part of the oven coil and drum and exits a stack. The rotating drum and auger lifts and turns the treated material as it is advanced by the auger.

  • Publication number: 20110122722
Abstract: The invention relates to a mixer for mixing mixing material at high temperatures of for example 300° C. to 600° C., as well as to a method for operating the mixer. It is an object of the invention to provide a mixer that can comprise a plurality of feeding members which are capable of following the movements of the mixer even at high temperatures. For achieving the object, the mixer comprises such installation means that an area of the mixing container is or can be fixed relative to the ground surface, said area can be provided on both sides with feeding members. Because a horizontal mixer can be fixed only at one front face in the case of a mixer according to the prior art, feeding members can only be connected with the mixing container from a side adjacent to the end wall.

The heat exchange medium supply pipe is constituted by split pipes split into two or more sections in the lengthwise direction. Pipe connection joints connect the split pipes with each other while securing such degrees of freedom so that these split pipes can move by predetermined quantity in the lengthwise direction and the radial direction. The screw enables to stably supply a heat exchange medium for a long period without fatigue fracture of a heat exchange medium supply pipe even if the screw is bent during mixing and extrusion of a raw material.

  • Patent number: 7063454
Abstract: A heat exchange system includes a rotor, a hole, a main tube, and branch tubes. The rotor, the outer surface of which is in contact with a kneaded object, has a heat-exchange chamber therein, in which a heat medium flows. The hole having a diameter less than that of the heat-exchange chamber is formed on one end of the rotor. The main tube is insertable through the hole and communicates with the heat-exchange chamber. Its diameter is determined such that a given space is ensured between the hole and the main tube. Each branch tube extends from the periphery of the main tube towards the surface of the heat-exchange chamber and has an opening on its top end, through which the main tube communicates with the heat-exchange chamber. The branch tubes are flexible to pass through the space when the main tube is inserted or removed.

Abstract: An electronic frequency converter is used with a high frequency immersion vibrator in order to compact concrete. The frequency converter comprises a cooling circuit containing a cooling medium; a first heat exchanger which is integrated into said cooling circuit and is used to transmit heat generated in the housing of the frequency converter to the cooling medium; and a second heat exchanger which is integrated into the cooling circuit and is used to outwardly transmit heat absorbed by the cooling medium. The second heat exchanger is received in a vibrator housing of the high frequency immersion vibrator. If the vibrator housing is immersed in concrete, the heat produced in the converter housing can be conducted away to the concrete.

  • Patent number: 6955793
Abstract: A reaction vessel which includes internally placed temperature controlling mixing baffles in which liquid is boiled, resulting in an isothermal heat sink. The energy of vaporization is supplied by the reaction vessel contents. The vapor produced by the boiling is directed to channel coils which surround the outside of the reaction vessel wall. The channel coils contact the outside wall of the reaction vessel perpendicularly, and provide mechanical support for the reaction vessel. The mechanical support from the channel coils allows for a decrease in the thickness of the reaction vessel wall and corresponding increased heat transfer efficiency between the channel coil contents and the reaction vessel contents. The entire above described apparatus is enclosed within an evacuated shell to provide additional insulation.

  • Patent number: 6749817
Abstract: An arrangement for a fluid distributor-contactor-type reactor uses perforated plates to circulate two reactants in alternate channels defined by spaces between parallel stacked plates to perform controlled distribution and mixing simultaneously with optional indirect heat transfer. One reactant enters one set of channels that serve as reaction channels. A set of second channels interleaved with the reaction channels serve as distribution channels that also provide a heat exchange function. Finely dispersed openings in the perforated plates distribute the reactant at low concentration from the distribution channels into the reaction channels. Dispersal of the reactant through the perforations will enhance the turbulence that is primarily introduced by the corrugated plates to insure good mixing of the reactants in the reaction channels.
