Abstract: A digital audio signal reproducing device includes a system processor, a first rotation disk, a second rotation disk, a first sensor, a second sensor, and a lighting assembly. The first sensor detects rotation speed and direction of the first rotation disk to output a first control signal. The second sensor detects the second rotation disk being pressed to output a second control signal. When the first control signal and the second control signal are outputted to the system processor simultaneously, the lighting assembly is controlled by the system processor to perform a first blinking mode, and when only the first control signal is outputted to the system processor, the lighting assembly is controlled by the system processor to perform a second blinking mode.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a recording speed determining method of a disk device. The present method, when data record is requested from a host through an interface, a disk device can receive size information about data to be recorded and/or the present time from the host, and determine a recording speed of a disk to be suitable for the received size information and/or for a time zone where the device is located. The disk device can determine such data size and time zone information internally. Thus, it is possible to reduce a noise that is caused from disk rotation if the size of data to be recorded is small or when a noise is felt relatively big. Further, it is possible to determine a data recording speed in accordance with a data size.

Abstract: A rotating recording device, such as an electron beam recorder, is provided with a dual encoder arrangement. A first encoder is employed as a spindle motor controller and located at a first end of a spindle. A second encoder is mounted at a turntable adjacent to a recording surface and used as a position, velocity or clock source for recording the pattern on the substrate. Eccentricity of the mounting of the second encoder is measured against the more accurately mounted spindle control encoder and compensated by a digital clock generating system using a digital phase locked loop.

Abstract: A temperature sensor (131) detects a temperature of a spindle motor (121) of a rotary drive unit (120) for rotating a disk-shaped recording medium (1), and a temperature information acquiring unit (134A) acquires the temperatures as temperature information. An eccentricity detector (132) detects a drive voltage level, and an eccentricity information acquiring unit (134B) acquires the drive voltage level as eccentricity information. When a determining unit (134C) determines that the temperature is higher than a predetermined temperature or that the drive voltage level is higher than a predetermined voltage, a servo controller (133) switches a rotation mode from constant liner velocity to constant angular velocity. That enables stable information processing over a long time with a simple strucure for constant linear velocity.

Abstract: When user data fails to be recorded in an address of a user data area, the same data is recorded in an address of a spare area. Information indicating that the data for the address of the user data area is recorded in the address of the spare area is registered in a DL that is loaded in a buffer memory, and the information is recorded in a currently-valid DL area of DMA1. As similar thereto, the information is recorded in a currently-valid DL area of DMA2. If the recording fails, the DL is alternatively recorded in another DL area of the same DMA2. Thereafter, DDSs of DMA2 are deleted, and then, without changing information of the number of times of updating the DDSs, only the staring address of the DL of the DDSs is updated. According to the updating method, it is possible to shorten the time required for updating management information of a medium in an information recording/reproducing apparatus.

The first comparator compares frequency-divided signals to output an error signal. The second and third comparators compare a signal pre-recorded on an optical disk and the frequency-divided signal to output an error signal and a frequency differential signal. The selection circuit selects any one of the error signals to output the signal selected. The control voltage generator generates a control voltage from the signal from the selection circuit. The voltage control oscillator generates and outputs the write reference clock signal having a frequency corresponding to the control voltage from the control voltage generator. The control circuit controls operations of the selection circuit according to the frequency differential signals.
