Abstract: The present disclosure provides an approach for scaling the number of VNFs in a data center without scaling the number of control sessions between VNFs and a data center gateway. The approach includes opening a session between a VNF and a route server, rather than between the VNF and the gateway, when the VNF needs to send its connectivity information to the gateway. The VNF sends its connectivity information to the route server, and the route server forwards the connectivity information to the gateway. The gateway receives connectivity information of a plurality of VNFs in the data center from the route server rather than from each of the VNFs individually. The connectivity information is then used to send packets, by the gateway to a VNF, for processing. The packets are sent using three layers of networking: an underlay physical network, an overlay logical network, and a second overlay logical network.

Abstract: The techniques disclosed herein enable systems to perform ordered reconvergence operations following a change to a topology of a communications network. To perform ordered reconvergence, a system detects a change to network topology such as a link failure or node addition. In response, the system determines a global delay based on a maximum distance between two nodes within the network, a local delay for each node within the network, and an ordered delay for each node based on the global delay and the local delay. Upon detecting that the ordered delay for a node has elapsed, the system can then update a routing table for the node. After updating routing tables for every node, the system can route data in the changed network topology using the updated routing tables.

  • Patent number: 11528186
Abstract: A bare metal server, or other computing device, may be represented as a JSON file (extending the concept to infrastructure as code) containing hardware, firmware and software versions with links to a kickstarter file depending on the needs of an application, SKU type or some other criteria. Rather than a management node in an L2 network which has a DHCP server to IP lease and facilitate OS installation, a workflow then generates a bootstrap kernel which initializes the bare metal server with an IP address, VLAN, and network gateway which is used to reach out to the network to download and install a kernel, upgrade firmware for various hardware components like BIOS, BMC, NIC, RAID, SSD, NVME, FPGA, etc. The bootstrap kernel may further configure RAID and JBOD, flash custom images on hardware components and may further instruct the server to incrementally download and install an operating system.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, calculating a Fresnel zone about a line of sight (LoS) between a pair of antennas positioned on antenna mounts. The Fresnel zone is projected onto a geospatial grid of 3D cells, each having a height above a horizontal plane. Cells that intersect the Fresnel zone projection are selected to obtain a subset cells with constraint heights determined according to heights of the subset cells that are adjusted according to the Fresnel zone. The LoS is revised according to an algorithm to obtain a set of updated LoS. Those updated LoS that do not intersect the set of adjusted constraint heights are identified as solutions that include an optimal solution, should one exist. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11522749
Abstract: A method that includes retrieving a first list of routing prefixes learned by a border node in a first network fabric and retrieving a second list comprising addresses of nodes in a second network fabric. The method also includes generating a dependency mapping based on the routing prefixes in the first list and the addresses in the second list. The dependency mapping indicates that network traffic to the addresses of the nodes in the second network fabric is affected by the border node in the first network fabric. The method further includes, in response to detecting that the border node in the first network fabric has malfunctioned and based on the dependency mapping, generating an alert indicating that network traffic to the addresses of the nodes in the second network fabric is affected by the border node in the first network fabric malfunctioning.

Abstract: A telecommunication network associated with a wireless telecommunication provider can be configured to switch between New Radio (NR) Dual Connectivity (DC) and NR Carrier Aggregation (CA) in 5G cellular networks. According to examples, a UE is not limited to using a single mode (e.g., either NR CA or NR DC) that is initially selected for use by the UE. For example, a UE can be reconfigured during a session to switch from NR DC to NR CA when the UE moves toward mid-cell and/or a cell edge. In other examples, the UE can be reconfigured to switch from NR CA to NR DC when the UE moves closer to the cell. To determine when to switch, one or more network conditions (e.g., UE RF conditions) can be monitored. In some examples, a gNB can monitor power headroom reports (PHRs) received from the UE to determine when to switch.

  • Patent number: 11510254
Abstract: The invention provides a method and system for automatically managing a plurality of Wi-Fi access points using a network management cloud. In order to manage the plurality of Wi-Fi access points, a connection is established between one or more Wi-Fi access points and a client device using the network management cloud. The network management cloud, then, receives and analyzes information from the client device related to controlling one or more Wi-Fi access points. Thereafter, the network management cloud determines one or more operation settings for the one or more Wi-Fi access points based on the analyzed information. The one or more operation settings of the one or more Wi-Fi access points are then configured using the network management cloud. Thus, the one or more Wi-Fi access points are configured by the client device through the network management cloud.
