Network Configuration Determination Patents (Class 370/254)
  • Patent number: 11431607
Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for improving speed of network convergence after node failure. In one example, a method includes storing, by SDN controller, an underlay routing table having routes for an underlay network of a data center and an overlay routing table having a set of routes for a virtual network of an overlay network for the data center, wherein the underlay network includes physical network switches, gateway routers, and a set of virtual routers executing on respective compute nodes of the data center; installing, within the underlay routing table, a route to a destination address assigned to a particular one of the virtual routers as an indicator of a reachability status to the particular virtual router in the underlay network. The SDN controller controls, based on presence or absence of the route within the underlay routing table, advertisement of the routes for the virtual network of the overlay network.

  • Patent number: 11425628
Abstract: A system and method for achieving auto-adaptive clustering in a sensor network has been explained. The system performs a hierarchical clustering in sensor networks to maximize the lifetime of the network. The system includes a set of sensor nodes and a sink node. The clusters in sensor networks are formed automatically from a large number of deployed nodes where the cluster characteristics are driven by the measurement requirements defined by the end-user. The system also employs a clustering algorithm to achieve adaptive clustering. The processor further includes a first level clustering module for grouping the set of sensor nodes into data level clusters based on the measurements. The processor further includes a second level clustering module for grouping the set of sensor nodes in the data level clusters into the location level clusters based on location. In another embodiment, that clustering can go on to more than two levels.

  • Patent number: 11424985
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for dynamically implementing quality of service (QoS) for machines of a network. The method identifies a QoS policy rule that defines a QoS policy to be implemented for machines that meet a set of criteria specified by the QoS policy rule. The method dynamically identifies a set of machines that meet the set of criteria. The method configures a set of managed forwarding elements of the network to implement the QoS policy rule for network traffic associated with the set of machines. In some embodiments, the method monitors network events (e.g., user logins, addition of new machines, etc.) and identifies a corresponding QoS policy rule to be enforced at corresponding locations in the network based on the detected event.

  • Patent number: 11425044
Abstract: This technology enables a dynamic host configuration protocol (“DHCP”) Layer 2 relay in a Virtual Extensible Local Area Network (“VXLAN”) overlay fabric. A host device broadcasts a configuration request, such as a DHCP discover, across an Ethernet virtual private network (“EVPN”) overlay fabric. The DHCP discover is intercepted by a VXLAN Tunnel End Point (“VTEP”) device with Layer 2 bridging functionality. The VTEP device selects a centralized gateway (“CGW”) device with Layer 3 relay functionality as a destination for the DHCP discover. The VTEP device encapsulates the DHCP discover with a unicast VXLAN header comprising the media access control (“MAC”) address of the CGW device and transmits the encapsulated DHCP discover to the CGW device, resolving the destination address associated with the broadcast. The CGW device transmits the DHCP discover to an Internet Protocol (“IP”) address associated with a DHCP server that is external to the EVPN overlay fabric.

Abstract: Techniques are described for inter-domain segment routing using transport endpoint segments. A transport endpoint segment provisioned on a router within a domain represents any intra-domain tunnel originated at the router and having reachability to an indicated endpoint within the same domain. The provisioning router advertises a transport endpoint segment identifier (TESID) for the transport endpoint segment to other routers or a controller for use in segment routing. The TESID for the transport endpoint segment remains constant regardless of which intra-domain tunnel is bound to the transport endpoint segment. The provisioning router dynamically binds the transport endpoint segment to at least one intra-domain tunnel, and any changes to the bound intra-domain tunnel are updated locally at the provisioning router. Abstract: A query enhancement system for constructing an elastic field based on a time delay, including: dividing a network node to obtain a set of containers composed of several containers, wherein the containers are nested and each container includes a management node for performing node organization, neighbor maintenance and query services within the container. Further, a query enhancement method for constructing an elastic field based on a time delay includes: carrying out same-layer non-intersection full-coverage division on a network node to obtain a set of containers that are nested, and execute a query flow without a given low time delay requirement which uses an existing query technique and a nearby query flow with a given low time delay requirement which uses a distributed nearby querying method to carry out a nearby query; with an actual query time delay index Ti less than the requirement of an upper time delay limit Ts.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure include methods and system for fast allocation of memory from fragmented memory. In one example, at a processor receives a request for an address to a buffer stored in a magazine associated with the processor. Upon determining that the magazine associated with the processor is empty, a request is made to a depot layer for additional memory. Upon determining that the depot layer cannot satisfy the request for the additional memory, executing a call to a slab layer for the additional memory. The slab layer identifies one or more partially-allocated slabs and generates a new magazine. A set of addresses correspond to buffers may be stored in the new magazine. A reference to the new magazine may be transferred from the slab layer to the depot layer. The reference to the new magazine may then be transferred from the depot layer to the processor.

Abstract: Implementations provide automated intrusion alert-based blacklisting with minimal false positives that ignores regular business operations, scalable to accommodate the volume of IDS alerts received by high-traffic internet-accessible networked systems. Implementations identify and block hostile infrastructure IP addresses during the reconnaissance phase based on IDS alert(s). Each IDS alert is automatically reviewed in historical context and triggers IP blocking as necessary. Some implementations maintain TCP/IP handshake records, preventing blocking an IP used to conduct regular business operations on the network that a malicious party has spoofed to avoid identification. Based on the historical context of each IP address within the local network environment, specifically regular business operations traffic versus malicious traffic, the IP address is blocked only if the majority of connections therefrom are malicious.

  • Patent number: 11374711
Abstract: Systems and techniques are disclosed to enhance the efficiency of available bandwidth between UEs and base stations. A UE transmits a sounding reference signal (SRS) to the base station. The base station characterizes the uplink channel based on the SRS received and, using reciprocity, applies the channel characterization for the downlink channel. As part of applying the channel information, the base station forms the beam to the UE based on the uplink channel information obtained from the SRS. The UE may include an array of antennas, each UE transmitting a different SRS that the base station receives and uses to characterize the downlink. Multiple UEs (or a single UE with multiple antennas) transmit SRS at the same time and frequency allocation (non-orthogonal), but with each sending its own unique SRS. Further, multiple UEs (or a single UE with multiple antennas) may send their SRS at unique time/frequency allocations (orthogonal).
