  • Patent number: 9792447
Abstract: For a host that executes one or more guest virtual machines (GVMs), some embodiments provide a novel encryption method for encrypting the data messages sent by the GVMs. The method initially receives a data message to send for a GVM executing on the host. The method then determines whether it should encrypt the data message based on a set of one or more encryption rules. When the process determines that it should encrypt the received data message, it encrypts the data message and forwards the encrypted data message to its destination; otherwise, the method just forwards the received data message unencrypted to its destination. In some embodiments, the host encrypts differently the data messages for different GVMs that execute on the host.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for determining candidates for handover of wireless devices in a wireless network. A first access node in communication with one or more wireless devices may receive signal information for second access nodes from the wireless devices. A communication link between the first access node and each second access node may be used to transmit second access node network characteristics to the first access node. The first access node may store information about second access nodes in a neighbor relation table. If a removal condition is satisfied, one or more second access nodes may be removed from the first access node neighbor relation table and may be blacklisted. Blacklisted second access nodes may be monitored for improvements in signal information or network characteristics. Improved second access nodes may be removed from the blacklist based on a comparison with threshold values for signal information and network characteristics.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for wireless communications in regional networks, e.g., ad hoc peer to peer networks, are described. Wireless communications devices transmit and monitor for presence indicator signals broadcast from other peer communications devices in its local vicinity. A wireless communications device maintains a list of discovered devices in its vicinity. A first wireless communications device transmits a paging signal directly over an airlink to a second communications device, which is on its list and to which it desires to send data units, e.g., user data in a peer to peer traffic segment. In response to a received paging response signal from the second device, the first device transmits data units, intended for the second device, to a third device, which acts as an intermediary node. The power level for the data unit signal is controlled to be lower than the power level used for the paging signal. FIG.

An SHDC device provides physical layer seamless hand-off and obtain diversity signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) gain. When additional antennas are available for standby or other reasons, it may be beneficial for a number of satellite antennas to collectively utilize additional SHDC devices to achieve higher diversity SNR gains under normal operational considerations. The asymptotic SNR gains are those obtained when receiver antenna noise dominates transponder and sky noises. According to exemplary embodiment of the present invention, N satellite antennas may collectively utilize N?1 SHDC devices. For example, 3 satellite antennas may collectively utilize 2 SHDC devices.

Abstract: A beacon signal may be provided with data extensions. The data extensions permit additional information to be provided by the beacon signal, thereby reducing the traffic overhead of the network. The data extensions further permit handoffs and handoffs based on offset values. A Measurement Request field corresponding to a beacon request contains a measurement duration value and channel number for which the request applies. The beacon request permits a scan mode. In Active Scan mode, the measuring station (STA) transmits a probe request with a broadcast SSID. In Passive Scan mode, the measuring STA passively receives on the specified channel and return a beacon report containing one information element for each STA from which it detects a beacon or probe response. In Beacon Table mode, the measuring STA returns a beacon report containing the current contents of its beacon table without performing additional measurements.

Abstract: A method performed by a central network node includes instructing one of a first network node and a second network node to transmit to a first wireless device. The central network node receives a first Channel Quality Indicator, CQI, and a third CQI sent by the first wireless device. The first CQI has been computed by the first wireless device based on a first unique signal transmitted by the first network node. The third CQI has been computed by the first wireless device based on a second unique signal transmitted by the second network node. The central network node identifies the one of the first and the second network nodes having a better channel quality, based on the received first CQI and the third CQI. The central network node sends a first message to the identified network node, instructing it to transmit to the first wireless device.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for processing information between mobile communication systems in order to prevent the degradation of user-experienced performance when different types of mobile communication networks are used. The method for processing information at user equipment (UE) to improve user-experienced performance of a mobile communication system includes performing a data communication through a first network and receiving, from a policy server, a routing policy including a validity condition which is information about a condition of designating a UE status for handover. The method further includes, in the handover, if a searched second network satisfies the validity condition, performing the data communication through the second network. Accordingly, a network for data transmission can be selected using a routing policy created in consideration of a UE status or a network status, thereby enhancing user-experienced performance.
