The objective is to offer the same real-time performance and configuration complexity as in the prior art but without the need for time synchronization throughout the entire network. The traffic shaper provides that a data frame that is received by a bridge in a first-time interval is passed by this bridge to the next hop/bridge in the next time interval. Each bridge knows the start time of the time interval that belongs to a particular data stream. Each data frame must contain a so-called “delay value,” thus a delay value which is measured by each bridge using a local clock that measures the delay time spent by the data frame in the queue at the outgoing port.

A user equipment (UE) may receive, on a primary component carrier, an indication that a subframe of a secondary component carrier includes a discovery reference signal. During the subframe, the UE may receive, on the secondary component carrier over an unlicensed spectrum, a transmission including the discovery reference signal. The UE may rate match the transmission based on the indication. The disclosure further provides for discovering timing information during wireless communications. The UE may receive on a primary component carrier, an indication that a set of subframes of a carrier of a neighboring cell includes a discovery reference signal. The UE may determine a subframe to receive the discovery reference signal based on the indication. The UE may receive during the subframe, the discovery reference signal from the neighboring cell in an unlicensed spectrum.

Abstract: A technique for transferring data on a radio bearer is described. The split radio bearer includes a first layer entity (570) at a first layer of a protocol stack and at least two second layer entities at a second layer of the protocol stack. The second layer is lower than the first layer in the protocol stack. In a method aspect of the technique, the data is received through each of the at least two second layer entities (582, 584). The data received through the at least two second layer entities (582, 584) is validated. If a result of the validation is indicative of an inconsistency in the data received through the at least two second layer entities (582, 584), a retransmission of the data is selectively triggered through at least one of the second layer entities (582, 584).

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques utilizing shared radio frequency spectrum (SRFS) for certain devices, such as machine type communication(s) (MTC) user equipments (UEs) and evolved or enhanced MTC (eMTC) UEs. An exemplary method, performed, for example, by a base station (BS), includes performing a channel clear assessment (CCA) for at least a portion of the SRFS including one or more narrowband regions, and communicating with at least one MTC UE, after performing the CCA, on at least one of the narrowband regions. A second exemplary method, performed, for example, by a MTC UE, generally includes receiving, from a BS, an assignment of resources in a narrowband region of the SRFS band for the MTC UE to use for communicating with the BS, and communicating with the BS on the narrowband region without performing a CCA for the narrowband region.
