Having Details Of Control Storage Arrangement Patents (Class 370/368)
  • Patent number: 11875058
Abstract: A control method for a multi-channel non-volatile memory is shown. When reading a read target on the non-volatile memory, the controller increases the read count of the monitored unit to which the read target belongs and, based on the read count, determines whether to move data of the monitored unit covering the read target to a safe space to deal with reading interference. The monitored unit is smaller than a cross-channel management unit in read-count group. The controller accesses a parallel accessing space of the non-volatile memory in parallel through all of the channels, and allocates the parallel accessing space based on the cross-channel management unit.

Abstract: Techniques for performing duplicate detection and re-ordering for a HARQ transmission are described. For duplicate detection, a receiver determines whether a decoded packet x for an ARQ channel y is a duplicate packet based on packet x and a prior decoded packet for ARQ channel y. For re-ordering, the receiver determines whether an earlier packet is still pending on any other ARQ channel based on prior decoded packets for the ARQ channels and forwards packet x only if there are no pending earlier packets. There are no pending earlier packets on another ARQ channel z if (1) a decoded packet was received on ARQ channel z at a designated time or later or (2) a decoded packet was not received on ARQ channel z within a time window from current time.

Abstract: Disclosed herewith is a multi-plane cell switch fabric system in which each switching unit functions asynchronously with others. The system executes distribution/restoration operations without lowering the switching capacity to reorder cells that arrive in random order from a plurality of switches just as they were in original flows and packets respectively with a small hardware capacity. In the system, the distribution unit divides each variable length packet addressed to the same destination into fixed length cells and sends those divided cells by a unit of integer multiple of the number of switches. On the other hand, the reordering unit, while holding cells that arrive in random order from each switching unit (switching units 1 to M) in a receive buffer, separates only the header information from each cell and holds the header information in a retry queue.

The degree of freedom can be derived from the collapsed virtual output queuing array by determining a number of egress locations to which an ingress port may send packets and determining a number of ingress ports from which an egress location can receive packets. Analyzing all the queued packets for assignment to an egress location, starting with a lesser degree of freedom and ending with a greater degree of freedom provides efficient switching allocations and acknowledgements.

Abstract: In a digital broadcast receiver, when a bit error rate (BER) is larger than a threshold in a BER determining part, power is supplied to a first tuner and a second tuner for diversity reception. When the BER is smaller than the threshold, power supply to one of the first tuner and the second tuner is stopped for single reception. This structure allows power supply to one of the tuners to be stopped in excellent reception environments, thus reducing power consumption.

  • Patent number: 7693090
Abstract: The present disclosure generally pertains to systems and methods for discovering PME bonding groups. In one exemplary embodiment, a plurality of communication links are terminated by physical medium entities (PMEs). In this regard, each link is terminated at one end via a network PME and at another end via a remote PME at a customer premises. Each of the PMEs has a transceiver that is allowed to train during a training phase that precedes a data phase. After training, discovery of PME bonding groups is performed via data communicated over data phase control channels, which are operational while links are operational in the data phase, transmitting data using the Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM) encapsulation. For example, the control channel data may be communicated over a link-level embedded operations channel (EOC). In another example, the control channel data may be communicated using 64/65 Byte (B) code words.

  • Patent number: 7627335
Abstract: A mobile electronic device having a keyboard has a cover plate acting as a dial keypad. The keypad has a push-through, hinge-spring design that activates only one of two keyboard keys underlying a dial key and allows backlighting transmissivity. A translucent material can be used to allow the keyboard key backlighting to be coupled through to a top dial key. The keypad creates an aesthetically balanced dial keypad arrangement over a QWERTY keyboard. A preferable mechanical implementation allows backlighting and has an offset contact and spring design to activate one of the two underlying keys. This activation simplifies the software implementation for executing the dial number since the signal is coming from one address rather than having to make a determination of whether it is coming from one or two addresses. Moreover, the resulting dial key press has a standard single click feel.

Abstract: A storage area network and method for defining a static Fibre Channel Fabric that does not require a Principal Switch. The storage area network comprises one or more hosts, one or more storage devices, and a static Fabric connecting the one or more hosts and storage devices. Within the static Fabric, the Switches have their Domain_ID and Fabric_Name statically set. The method comprises accessing the Fabric, selecting a Switch in the Fabric, and statically configuring the Domain_ID and Fabric_Name for the selected Switch. The above sequence is repeated for each Switch in the static Fabric. In one embodiment, after being statically configured, the Switch is isolated from any dynamically set Switches in the Fabric. The Switch detects which of its Ports are connected to dynamically set Switches, and then isolates them, while maintaining operational the Ports connected to statically configured Switches.

The host communicates with the Bluetooth devices via Bluetooth channels. The host includes an application layer, a Host Control Interface (HCI) layer and an interface device driver layer. An Interface Map Table (IMT) is stored in the host. The IMT associates each port on the host with the BD address of a particular Bluetooth dongle and with the channels associated with the particular dongle. The HCI layer and the Interface handler layer consult the IMT to direct commands and data to the correct port on the host.

  • Patent number: 7518986
Abstract: A multi-chassis network device sends state information to internal consumers within the multi-chassis device via a hierarchical distribution. As one example, a primary master routing engine within a control node of a multi-chassis router forwards state information to local routing engines within other chassis, which in turn distribute the state information to consumers on each chassis. Each local routing engine defers sending acknowledgement to the master routing engine until acknowledgements have been received from all consumers serviced by the local routing engine. Embodiments of the invention may reduce control plane data traffic and convergence times associated with distribution of state updates in the multi-chassis network device.

  • Patent number: 7486683
Abstract: A method for selecting packets to be switched in a collapsed virtual output queuing array (cVOQ) switch core, using a request/acknowledge mechanism. According to the method, an efficient set of virtual output queues (at most one virtual output queue per ingress adapter) is selected, while keeping the algorithm simple enough to allow its implementation in fast state machines. For determining a set of virtual output queues that are each authorized to send a packet, the algorithm is based upon degrees of freedom characterizing states of ingress and egress adapters. For example, the degree of freedom, derived from the collapsed virtual output queuing array, could represent the number of egress ports to which an ingress port may send packet, or the number of ingress ports from which an egress port may receive packets, at a given time.
