  • Patent number: 11212394
Abstract: The transmit power level of a transceiver coupled to a digital subscriber line (DSL) line is reduced from a first transmit power level sufficient for the transceiver to transmit data on the DSL line at a first bit rate to a second transmit power level below the first transmit power level sufficient for the transceiver to transmit data on the DSL line at a second bit rate that is lower than the first bit rate. The reduction in transmit power is limited so that the change does not induce time-varying crosstalk sufficient to destabilize a nearby DSL line. While the transmit power level of the transceiver is reduced to the second transmit power level, the transceiver is suspended from transmitting data on the DSL line for repeated periods of time. Suspending the data transmission is controlled to avoid further time-varying crosstalk sufficient to destabilize the nearby DSL line.

  • Patent number: 11193963
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for monitoring energy consumption. In one aspect, a method includes sending, to a power monitor of a circuit board, requests for power consumption data. The requests are sent periodically based on a reference clock that is located external to the circuit board and that is more accurate than a clock of the power monitor. Each request is for an accumulated amount of power for components of the circuit board. In response to each request, power consumption data is received from the power monitor. The power consumption data specifies the accumulated amount of power for the components of the circuit board since a previous request sent to the circuit board. An amount of energy consumed by the components of the circuit board over a time period is determined based on the received power measurements and the time period.

Abstract: Method for self-recognition, by a probe, of a communication protocol to be used to communicate with a base station (7), the probe (4) being configured to emulate a plurality of communication protocols featuring respective activation procedures. Each activation procedure allows the base station to activate the probe to perform a checking cycle. According to the method, in consequence of a command given by a user by means of hardware interfaces (5,15,16) of the probe, the probe is set in a search state (100-105) where all the activation procedures are attempted and it is identified which of the activation procedures is completed positively. Then, the probe is switched to an operative state (201-205) based on the communication protocol featuring the identified activation procedure. Preferably, the activation procedure is identified after a predetermined number (N) of positive conclusions have occurred.

Abstract: A safety system for high-voltage electrical cabinetry presents alarm indications representing alarm conditions of the electrical switchgear cabinet system at every electrical switchgear cabinet during maintenance. The system includes encoder and decoder devices connected to existing switchgear cabinet lighting infrastructure. The encoder devices receive alarm signals from a control system of the electrical switchgear cabinet system and send encoded alarm signals to the decoder devices by modulating power relayed from the encoder devices to the decoder devices and possibly to lamps. The decoder devices decode the encoded alarm signals and present the alarm indications audibly and/or visually using light and sound indicators. A technician performing maintenance can evaluate instantly the importance of the alarm based on the alarm indications and act accordingly.
