    Abstract: A system and method to protect a target telephone number from unauthorized access includes a first one-way encoding unit to encode the target telephone number using nonreversible encoding. A storage unit stores the encoded target telephone number. A second one-way encoding unit encodes a calling telephone number and a receiving telephone number using the non-reversible encoding. A comparing unit determines whether the stored encoded target telephone number matches the encoded calling telephone number and/or the receiving telephone number and routing a call between the calling telephone number and the receiving telephone number matching the target telephone number to a monitoring unit. The monitoring unit monitors and/or records the call and connects the calling telephone number to the receiving telephone number.

    Abstract: A device for tracing electrical cable. The device allows a cable installer or service person not only to identify one wire or cable in a group, but to simultaneously renotely identify as many cables as he desires. The telecommunication system comprises a local exchange, an access node connected to the local exchange, a wireless link system connected to the access node and a telecommunication terminal connected via the wireless link system to the access node. In the telecommunication system, an IMEI code corresponding to the telecommunication terminal and an IMSI code corresponding to the subscriber have been defined. In the method of the invention, the tracing of the subscription is started on the basis of the IMEI code and the tracing is converted into IMSI tracing. In the system, the access node comprises means for tracing a subscription on the basis of the IMEI code and means for converting the IMEI tracing into IMSI tracing.
