Patent number: 6731733Abstract: A system and method to protect a target telephone number from unauthorized access includes a first one-way encoding unit to encode the target telephone number using nonreversible encoding. A storage unit stores the encoded target telephone number. A second one-way encoding unit encodes a calling telephone number and a receiving telephone number using the non-reversible encoding. A comparing unit determines whether the stored encoded target telephone number matches the encoded calling telephone number and/or the receiving telephone number and routing a call between the calling telephone number and the receiving telephone number matching the target telephone number to a monitoring unit. The monitoring unit monitors and/or records the call and connects the calling telephone number to the receiving telephone number.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 2001Date of Patent: May 4, 2004Assignee: Comverse, Inc.Inventor: Dan Haran

Patent number: 6718031Abstract: The present invention is drawn to a call trace system and method that is simple to establish in a short amount of time. The call trace is implemented through a Web browser page which remotely programs central offices to trace calls to particular number. When a trace is established a message is sent back to the Web browser which displays the calling number, the called number and the central office detecting the call. Also, a page is sent to a pager which displays the traced information.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 2002Date of Patent: April 6, 2004Assignee: Ameritech Services, Inc.Inventors: Paul W. Patent number: 6628756Abstract: A testing environment and a method for telephone number identification and/or verification. The method identifies a telephone number associated with a tested telephone line by: (a) operatively connecting a test equipment to the tested telephone line; (b) dialing via a communication port of the test equipment, via the tested telephone line, via a cellular communication system, to a cellular receiver, and (c) processing a received signal received by the cellular receiver to identify the telephone number associated with the tested telephone line.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 2001Date of Patent: September 30, 2003Inventors: Yair Avitsur, Yosef Yahav, Alon Mano

Publication number: 20030086537Abstract: A device for tracing electrical cable. The device allows a cable installer or service person not only to identify one wire or cable in a group, but to simultaneously renotely identify as many cables as he desires. The device requires only that the installer connect a test device to each of the cables which he wishes to identify. Additionally, this identification is extremely easy to accomplish, as the “Identifying label” is in the installers own spoken words, and can be heard at the remote end by using existing industry standard test equipment (i.e.: an installer's test set, phone, headset, or amplified probe).Type: ApplicationFiled: October 22, 2002Publication date: May 8, 2003Inventor: James A. Patent number: 6459893Abstract: The invention relates to a method and system for tracing a subscription in a telecommunication system. The telecommunication system comprises a local exchange, an access node connected to the local exchange, a wireless link system connected to the access node and a telecommunication terminal connected via the wireless link system to the access node. In the telecommunication system, an IMEI code corresponding to the telecommunication terminal and an IMSI code corresponding to the subscriber have been defined. In the method of the invention, the tracing of the subscription is started on the basis of the IMEI code and the tracing is converted into IMSI tracing. In the system, the access node comprises means for tracing a subscription on the basis of the IMEI code and means for converting the IMEI tracing into IMSI tracing.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2001Date of Patent: October 1, 2002Assignee: Nokia Networks OyInventor: Heimo Pentikäinen

Patent number: 6393113Abstract: Service observing equipment monitors, detects, decodes correlates and generates Call Records and Report Summaries from digital and audio information on an individual call basis on either ANSI or CCITT Signaling System #7 systems controlled by data packets transmitted along high speed data links separated from the telecommunication audio channels. The equipment simultaneously responds to in-band signals such as Automatic Number Identification (ANI) digits and/or Customer Entered digits transmitted over the audio channels. A Call's decoded content is stored as correlated data until the end of a monitored call. Then the stored data is custom formatted into a Call Record and transmitted or printed out to enable study of how trouble free the telecommunication network is performing, detect fraud or credit violations and/or validate billing situations.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 1998Date of Patent: May 21, 2002Assignee: Tekno Industries, Inc.Inventor: Ernest Karras
