  • Patent number: 9412009
Abstract: A method and system for matching an unknown facial image of an individual with an image of a celebrity using facial recognition techniques and human perception is disclosed herein. The invention provides a internet hosted system to find, compare, contrast and identify similar characteristics among two or more individuals using a digital camera, cellular telephone camera, wireless device for the purpose of returning information regarding similar faces to the user The system features classification of unknown facial images from a variety of internet accessible sources, including mobile phones, wireless camera-enabled devices, images obtained from digital cameras or scanners that are uploaded from PCs, third-party applications and databases. Once classified, the matching person's name, image and associated meta-data is sent back to the user. The method and system uses human perception techniques to weight the feature vectors.

Abstract: An image interpolation method and an image interpolation device and an image apparatus using the image interpolation method are provided. The image interpolation method uses a probabilistic neural network model to perform an adaptive interpolation on an image. The image interpolation method includes the following steps. Firstly, plural reference points neighboring an interpolation point are selected. Then, an anisotropic Gaussian function value of each reference point of the plural reference points is obtained according to an edge direction angle, a horizontal smoothing parameter, a vertical smoothing parameter and a distance between each reference point and the interpolation point. Afterwards, a statistics method is performed to integrate and compute the anisotropic Gaussian function values of the plural reference points, thereby obtaining an interpolation value of the interpolation point.

Abstract: A fingerprint authentication apparatus stores fingerprint data of plural fingers. The fingerprint authentication apparatus stores a history of a result of an authentication process executed using the fingerprint data. The fingerprint authentication apparatus determines the number of accepted fingers, which is the number of fingers from which the fingerprint data is accepted from a user during the authentication process, and a false acceptance rate based upon the history. The fingerprint authentication apparatus accepts the fingerprint data from the fingers in the determined number of accepted fingers. The fingerprint authentication apparatus collates whether each of the accepted fingerprint data coincides or not using the determined false acceptance rate. The fingerprint authentication apparatus authenticates a user based upon a collation result.

Abstract: A capacitive sensing array device of an electronic apparatus includes sensing electrodes, a shielding conductor layer, a coupling signal source, a constant voltage source and switch modules. The coupling signal source provides a coupling signal coupled to an object. The constant voltage source provides a constant voltage to the shielding conductor layer to form a stable vertical parasitic capacitor between the shielding conductor layer and each sensing electrode. Each switch module is electrically connected to the constant voltage source via the corresponding sensing electrode. When one sensing electrode is selected to perform sensing, the corresponding switch module is configured as an open-circuited state such that the selected sensing electrode is disconnected from the constant voltage source, while the other sensing electrodes are electrically connected to the constant voltage source to form a stable horizontal parasitic capacitor between the selected sensing electrode and the other sensing electrodes.

However, if the verification is unsuccessful, then it is verified if there are untried PUAKs. If there are no untried signatures, then the verification has failed and the software cannot be verified; the verification method ends. If there are untried signatures, then the next PUAK is loaded.

Abstract: A system of the present invention uses an identity provider to provide the authentication services for multiple service providers. An identity provider communicates with one or more service providers. A user that wishes to gain access to a service provider is authenticated through the use of the identity provider. A user desiring to access a service provider is first authenticated by the identity provider. The identity provider determines if the user meets the desired class level and provides various information related to the authentication. When the user attempts to access a second service provider that is associated with the same identity provider, the second service provider accesses the identity provider and determines that the user was recently authenticated. The identity provider then transmits the relevant information regarding the authentication process to the second service provider, which can then allow or deny the user access to the second service provider.

Abstract: A system and method for contactless handprint capture is disclosed that includes an image capture device to capture whole handprint images of a subject hand at each of a plurality of different focal distances, with the image capture device including an imaging camera and an electro-optics arrangement having a plurality of light modulating elements and polarization sensitive optical elements having differing optical path lengths based on polarization states. A control system is coupled to the image capture device to cause the device to capture the handprint images at each of the different focal distances, with each handprint image having a depth-of-focus that overlaps with a depth-of-focus of handprint images at adjacent focal distances such that redundant handprint image data is captured. The control system registers each handprint image with positional data and creates a composite handprint image from the handprint images captured at the different focal distances.

Abstract: Systems and methods modifying a presentation of media content in response to a detected violation are provided. In particular, media content such as a media stream broadcasted by a user to other users can be monitored. The broadcasted media stream can be fingerprinted and compared to a fingerprint repository that includes entries associated with media content that is copyrighted or otherwise considered a violation. If the fingerprint matches entries included in the fingerprint repository, then the media stream can be modified such as modified to terminate.

Abstract: An apparatus, method and system are provided for sensing at least one biometric measure of an individual. A low voltage pulsed electrical charge is applied to a transparent electrode plate, which is dimensioned to receive a portion of an individual's dermal surface having molecules associated therewith. The pulsed electrical charge stimulates and excites the molecules and causes molecular compounds to fluoresce. An image of the fluoresced dermal surface is obtained and a biometric function is performed with data derived from the image.

  • Patent number: 8959361
Abstract: A mobile, wireless biometric identification system includes a biometric capture device, associated software and processes which enable a commercially available wireless communication device, such as a smartphone, using a commercially established wireless communication networks, to capture a digital image of a human biometric (iris, fingerprint, etc.) for transmission via a secure connection to a central server. The capture device is designed to focus on the difficult task of capturing the highest possible quality image for encoding and comparison, while the overall system is designed to leverage the existing cellular communication network. At the server level, the server system receives the image, encodes the image to a biometric template, and compares the encoded template to a plurality of reference templates stored in a database to identify the individual. Identification data is then transmitted back to the smartphone device and displayed.

  • Patent number: 8952781
Abstract: A biometrically authenticated access control in which a wireless authentication signal is provided from a primary instrumentality of access, only after a dual-stage biometric verification of the user's identity is performed. In one embodiment, an accessing device includes memory for storing a device identification code and an authentication code, along with first and second biometric templates corresponding to biometric samples from a user. In another embodiment, an accessing device includes memory for storing a device identification code and more than one authentication code, for separate users, along with first and second biometric templates corresponding to biometric samples from multiple users. In order to gain access to a secured resource, a user undergoes first and second biometric sampling to generate biometric data to be compared with the first and second biometric templates.

Abstract: Systems and methods for integrating biometric authentication with video conference sessions are described. An individual seeking to participate in a video conference may first be identified with a biometric parameter such as an iris scan based on a comparison of the scanned iris with a database of stored parameters. If authorized, the system may connect the individual to the video session. In addition, the system may generate dynamic tags that allow the participants to identify and locate individuals in the video conference. For example, if one of the participants is speaking and moving within the room, her tag may change color and move with her on the video screen.

Abstract: A high-accuracy matching result is obtained when a condition of a photographed input image differs from a condition of a photographed registration image. A face matching device including the registration face image, in which a person is photographed, and a photographing condition which corresponds to the registration face image are registered in a registration face image database. The face matching device includes a condition detecting unit, a registration face image selecting unit, and a matching unit. The condition detecting unit detects a photographing condition in the input face image which includes the photographed person. The registration face image selecting unit determines and selects the closest of the photographing condition from the input face image with the photographing conditions of the registration face images based on the determined closeness of the photographing condition.
