  • Patent number: 9870084
Abstract: A touch panel apparatus is provided with a strain gauge sensor (16), a piezoelectric element (17), and a control unit (1). The strain gauge sensor (16) detects the pressing force to be applied to a touch panel (12) when a select-execute function key (18) is operated. The piezoelectric element (17) makes the touch panel (12) vibrate. The control unit (1) changes the function to be selected with the operation of the select-execute function key (18), in accordance with the pressing force detected by a pressing force detection unit (20), and when an arbitrary function is continued to be selected for a prescribed period of time (T0), the function that is continued to be selected is executed.

Abstract: A capacitive stylus pen that inputs an indicated position by capacitive coupling with a tablet is provided. The capacitive stylus pen includes a power supply that is charged in a contactless manner, a coil provided at a position indicating part of the capacitive stylus pen, an electrode that penetrates through the coil and protrudes to form a tip part, and an alternating-current signal generating circuit that supplies an alternating-current signal to the electrode. During contactless charging, the coil is magnetically coupled to an external charge device that has a penholder shape, to thereby charge the power supply, which supplies power to the alternating-current signal generating circuit.

Abstract: In various embodiments, methods, systems, and computer program products for detecting, estimating, calculating, etc. characteristics of a document based on reference objects depicted on the document are disclosed. In one approach, a computer-implemented method for processing a digital image depicting a document includes analyzing the digital image to determine one or more of a presence and a location of one or more reference objects; determining one or more geometric characteristics of at least one of the reference objects; defining one or more region(s) of interest based at least in part on one or more of the determined geometric characteristics; and detecting a presence or an absence of an edge of the document within each defined region of interest. Additional embodiments leverage the type of document depicted in the image, multiple frames of image data, and/or calculate or extrapolate document edges rather than locating edges in the image.

  • Patent number: 9749305
Abstract: A destination server receives an application layer request, including a user-agent and one or more cipher suites, from a user client to initiate a secure communications channel. In response to the request, the destination server obtains from a user-agent database a set of one or more cipher suites that are supported by a user agent corresponding to the user-agent provided by the user client. The destination server uses this set of one or more cipher suites to determine if the user client fails to support any of these cipher suites. If the destination server determines, based on the set of one or more cipher suites, that the user client fails to support any of these cipher suites, the destination server initiates one or more security measures.

Abstract: A method of encoding content data into a digital image includes determining bit values of a pixel within the digital image, and modifying the bit values within the pixel based on content data to be encoded in order to encode the content data into the digital image. The step of determining the bit values of a pixel within the digital image includes determining a binary representation of the bit values of the pixel. The step of modifying the bit values includes determining a binary representation of the content data to be encoded within the pixel and encoding the content data using a reversible binary operation.

  • Patent number: 9690431
Abstract: In one embodiment, a system comprises a touch sensor and a stylus. The touch sensor comprises drive lines and sense lines arranged such that intersections of the drive lines and sense lines form capacitive nodes. The drive lines transmits a first signal having an identification portion. The stylus comprises a sense unit and a drive unit. The sense unit senses the first signal from the drive lines, compares the identification portion to criteria stored in the stylus, and authorizes the drive unit to transmit a second signal based on the first signal if the identification portion satisfies the criteria stored in the stylus. The drive unit transmits the second signal to the sense lines such that transmission of the second signal changes capacitance of the capacitive nodes.

Abstract: A touch mouse including a pressure sensing region, a touch sensing region, and a control unit is disclosed. The pressure sensing region is disposed at a first side and a second side of the touch mouse, and the touch sensing region covers at least the pressure sensing region at the first side. The first side is opposite to the second side. When the user clicks the pressure sensing region, it generates a pressure sensing signal. When the user clicks the touch sensing region, it generates a touch sensing signal. When the pressure sensing signal and the touch sensing signal are generated, the control unit outputs a first clicking signal representing that the first side is clicked. When the pressure sensing signal is generated but the touch sensing signal is not, the control unit outputs a second clicking signal representing that the second side is clicked.
