  • Patent number: 8752146
Abstract: A technique provides authentication codes to authenticate a user to an authentication server. The technique involves generating, by an electronic apparatus (e.g., a smart phone, a tablet, a laptop, etc.), token codes from a cryptographic key. The technique further involves obtaining biometric measurements from a user, and outputting composite passcodes as the authentication codes. The composite passcodes include the token codes and biometric factors based on the biometric measurements. Additionally, the token codes and the biometric factors of the composite passcodes operate as authentication inputs to user authentication operations performed by the authentication server. In some arrangements, the biometric factors are results of facial recognition (e.g., via a camera), voice recognition (e.g., via a microphone), gate recognition (e.g., via an accelerometer), touch recognition and/or typing recognition (e.g., via a touchscreen or keyboard), combinations thereof, etc.

  • Patent number: 8391590
Abstract: The system includes a 3D feature detection module and 3D recognition module 202. The 3D feature detection module processes 3D surface map of a biometric object, wherein the 3D surface map includes a plurality of 3D coordinates. The 3D feature detection module determines whether one or more types of 3D features are present in the 3D surface map and generates 3D feature data including 3D coordinates and feature type for the detected features. The 3D recognition module compares the 3D feature data with biometric data sets for identified persons. The 3D recognition module determines a match between the 3D feature data and one of the biometric data sets when a confidence value exceeds a threshold.

Abstract: According to embodiments of the invention, there is provided a computer program product, a method, and a system to clean an image produced by the system. A digital canvas representation of an initial condition is produced. A set of real-time digital information is captured to form an unconstrained digital representation of the set of real-time digital information. A constraining digital mask based on the digital canvas representation of the initial condition is applied to the unconstrained digital representation of the set of real-time digital information to form a constrained digital representation of the set of real-time digital information. The constrained digital representation of the set of real-time data is stored, allowing an application program to use the constrained representation of the real-time data.

  • Patent number: 8317609
Abstract: A method and system for verifying the continued presence of the same player at a gaming machine is provided. The system comprises a device for continuously obtaining verification data samples, wherein each verification data sample relates to one or more physical features of a first player. A subsequently obtained verification data sample is analyzed to determine whether it is substantially similar to a previously obtained verification data sample. If the subsequent verification data sample is substantially similar to the previously obtained verification data sample, then the system determines that the first player continues to be the same player present at the gaming machine.

  • Patent number: 8290218
Abstract: When an information medium is copied, information is printed while preventing personal information from leaking. An image scanning section 2 scans the information medium and inputs the image. An identification section 64 calculates the size of the information medium from the inputted image and identifies the type of the information medium. The position of the unique image indicating personal information is fixed according to the information medium. An area determination section 63 identifies the unique image in the information medium and determines the position of the specific area in which the unique image exists in the inputted image. A control section 7 performs image processing for masking the specific area. An image forming section 3 prints the image in a state in which the unique image is hidden.

  • Patent number: 8229182
Abstract: A method is provided whereby confidence in a validation parameter set is achieved by comparison with a known sample of a parameter in terms of the expected template comparison score as well as mean values and deviation from that score. Thus, with respect to user individual identification, biometric parameters such as fingerprint or handwriting or voice recognition can be utilised to compare the stored template for that individual with the putative biometric response in order to determine deviation from the mean. Previous systems provided a stored template and then ranging either side to simply give a pass/fail response. By adaptation of the ranging quotient for a particular individual, a percentage confidence in the pass/fail response can be achieved. For example an individual -may have a wider range of deviation than another individual and therefore close repetition of the biometric data may be indicative of a lower percentage confidence than with an individual with a narrower deviation.
