Abstract: The inventive package for paste-like products is designed in the form of a flat packet which is made of a flexible material and has an opening line. The area adjacent to the opening line is provided with element the rigidity of which is greater than the rigidity of the package. The cross-section of the packet over the opening line is in the form of a narrow longitudinal aperture. The elements adjacent to the packet walls are in the form of stripes, the length of which corresponds to the length of the aperture formed when the packet is opened. The opening line is in the form of incisions and/or perforations. The closing element is made as a part of the packet which comprises the seam of the flat packet and is detachable when the packet is opened.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to the use of first and second adhesives for the attachment of zipper flanges to reclosable packages. A first adhesive is typically a reactive, cross-linkable hot melt adhesive while the second adhesive is typically non-cross-linkable hot melt adhesive, typically, but not limited to, either EVA-based or polyamide-based. Alternatively, the second adhesive can be a coextrusion layer including a resin that is typically used as a sealant layer in zipper extrusion, such as metallocene type linear low density polyethylene.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a reclosable package or bag with a slider zipper, and further including a first gusset with a perforated line or similar line of weakness formed between the slider zipper profiles in order to provide tamper evidence and a second gusset formed below one zipper profile in order to allow the filled packaged to stand up for display purposes. This package or bag is typically bottom filled, but then displayed to the customer in the orientation with the bottom in the upper position and the zipper in the lower position. One alternative embodiment substitutes a press-to-close-zipper for the slider zipper. A further alternative embodiment omits the perforated line and provides for a separation in the web between the zipper profiles to form a mouth for the package or bag.

Abstract: A seal-free pouch includes a bag body, a tear and a feeding unit. The bag body is provided for forming a first accommodating space. The tear is interconnected with the first accommodating space. The feeding unit includes a protrusion and is installed on a side of the tear for partitioning the tear to form a second accommodating space and a third accommodating space, and the second accommodating space is interconnected with the tear, but the third accommodating space is not interconnected with the tear. If the protrusion of the feeding unit is folded into halves along the third accommodating space, the first accommodating space will be limited and interconnected with the exterior of the seal-free pouch through the second accommodating space.

Abstract: Plastic bag (WB) containing stacked soft hygienic products (FCS), e.g. sanitary napkins, panty liners, diapers, or the like, which can be made on-line from a roll of film. The plastic bag comprises one MD seal (35) along one closure corner (46) and is without a fold line in the center of a side panel. An artwork may be present which is continuous in the area of the MD seal. The products may be in a compressed state in the closed plastic bag.

Abstract: A resealable closure for packages is provided which has a package integrity feature. The closure includes a two-ply material having an inner film layer and an outer film layer, forming a top of container. The outer film layer has a sealing panel completely covering a first panel and a second panel of the inner film layer. The sealing panel is permanently attached to the first panel and is releasably affixed a portion of the inner film layer around the perimeter of the first panel to form an opening in the top when the sealing panel with affixed first panel is peeled back from the top. The sealing panel is resealable against the top to seal the opening when the sealing panel is moved back against the top. The package integrity feature comprises the second panel of the inner layer which separates from the sealing panel to indicate that the container has been previously opened.

Abstract: A laminate material for a flexible packaging is provided having first and second layers. The first layer has a weakened line therethrough that defines a first flap. The second layer is adhered to the first layer and has a second weakened line formed offset from the first weakened line in the first layer and defines a removable panel in the second layer. An adhesive layer is located between the first and second layers. The adhesive layer comprises pressure-sensitive adhesive located inwardly of the weakened line in the first layer and a vacancy located laterally inward of the pressure-sensitive adhesive and adjacent the removable panel. The removable panel remains connected to the second layer when the first flap is peeled back. The removable panel is separately removable from the first flap. The first flap is resealable to the second layer by means of the pressure-sensitive adhesive exposed upon opening the first flap.

Abstract: A flexible packaging laminate is formed to have a built-in opening and reclose feature by forming the laminate as a two-part structure having an outer structure joined in face-to-face relation with an inner structure. Score lines are formed in both structures to enable an opening to be formed through the laminate by lifting an opening portion (e.g., a flap or the like) of the two structures out of the plane of the laminate. The score line through the outer structure defines a larger opening than the score line through the inner structure, such that a marginal region of the outer structure extends beyond the edge of the opening portion of the inner structure. A pressure-sensitive adhesive is used to re-adhere the marginal region to an underlying surface of the inner structure adjacent the opening through the laminate.

Abstract: A package having a resealable closure is disclosed and comprises a body, a frame, a door and apparatus. The body is a bag in which is disposed a product and has an inner surface defining the inner surface of said package. The frame defines an opening and has a surface attached to the inner surface of said package. The door has one edge connected to the frame for swinging movement of said door between a closed position, whereat the door occludes said opening to contain said product, and an open position, whereat the door is orientated to permit access to said product. The apparatus releasably secures the door in its closed position. The material forming the bag can overlie the door and be perforated to define a frangible portion of said material that call be removed or pulled away to permit operation of the door.

Abstract: A bag having an integral closure mechanism includes perforated lines along which the bag is torn to form handles, wherein each of the perforated lines includes an aperture at opposite ends thereof for inhibiting tearing of the bag beyond the perforated lines. The handles are used to tie the bag closed. Finger apertures along the perforated liens in-between opposite ends thereof for facilitating tearing of the bag along the perforated lines to form the handles. Methods of making and using the bag are similarly disclosed.

Abstract: A tearing guide strip 23 is integrated with a base part 21a or 21b of at least one of a male member 2a and a female member 2b constituting a zipper 2 in a peelable manner to improve the tearing unsealing ability of a zipper-equipped bag provided with an interlocking type zipper enabling resealing and unsealing after the bag is unsealed.

Abstract: A reclosable package comprising front and rear panels extending between top and bottom transverse seals, the front panel having a line or lines of weakened tear resistance for forming an opening, through which a zipper can be accessed. The zipper is suspended from the top transverse seal and attached to the front panel at a lower elevation. At least a major portion of the base strip of a forward zipper part is disposed between the front panel and the base strip of a rearward zipper part. Respective upper portions of the zipper base strips are joined to each other in the top transverse seal. A lower portion of the base strip of the forward zipper part is joined to the front panel in a transverse band-shaped zone of joinder. No portion of the base strip of the rearward zipper part is joined to the rear panel outside of the top transverse seal.

Abstract: A packaging method includes the providing of a bag. A mouth of the bag may include an opening/closing for multiple successive openings and closings and a cleavable linking veil, located at a distance therefrom inside the bag in relation to the opening/closing. The method may also include introduction of contents to be wrapped in the bag and tightening of said bag in order to close it, with tension being applied to the contents. A veil may enter into contact with the contents to avoid the application of stress on the opening/closing, and guarantee free access to the contents via said opening/closing after tearing the cleavable linking veil. In one embodiment, free access to bag contents enables the bag to be relaxed in a closed state as a result of the distance (D) separating the veil and the opening/closing. The invention also relates to a packaging device and to bags thus obtained.

Abstract: A method and apparatus is disclosed which include a pair of opposed seal bars for the manufacture of reclosable packages. The method and apparatus are particularly adaptable to form fill seal manufacture of reclosable packages. The first opposed seal bars includes a concave metal sealing surface and the second opposed seal bar includes a rubberized or otherwise deformable sealing surface. This allows a hermetic seal to be formed across an abrupt transition of thickness of material between the opposed seal bars, such as when a zipper ends adjacent to a side seal in a reclosable bag.

Each of the two slits is formed adjacent a wall and a gusset. Each of the two slits is adjacent the opening. A zipper comprises a pair of interlocking sections. The zipper is inserted through the slits. The interlocking sections are secured to at least a portion of each of the walls.

Abstract: A reclosable package includes first and second side panels connected to each other along respective side edges and bottom edges. A zipper closure is secured to the first and second side panels along upper edges thereof. A slider device is operably mounted on the zipper closure for opening and closing the zipper closure and a tamper-evident header is connected to the zipper closure and surrounds the slider device. The tamper-evident header has a front portion and a rear portion with upper ends connected together above the slider device and lower ends connected to the zipper closure. The front portion includes a segment displaceable therefrom to allow access to the slider device. A rear portion of the header may be formed with a hole for suspending or carrying the package.

Abstract: A package is presented from which contents can be easily taken out. This package includes a film with a soft packaging material. On the surface of the soft packaging material is a cut line, such that, inside the cut line, an openable region is formed for taking contents out from the package. Further, inside the openable region, dashed lines are provided. When a lid member adhering to cover the openable region is peeled, the openable region easily adheres to the lid member side owing to the dashed lines to reliably form the opened portion.

Abstract: A fastener bag includes a packaging bag formed by heat-sealing side parts of a packaging sheet in a butt seam, and a fastening device attached to the inner surface of the packaging bag. The fastening device includes a male fastening member and a female fastening member. The male fastening member is disposed on one side of the heat-sealed butt seam of the packaging bag, and the female fastening member is disposed on the other side of the heat-sealed butt seam of the packaging bag so as to be engage with the male fastening member, and a tear-facilitating means is interposed between the male and the female fastening member. The fastener bag is capable of being opened and of being reclosed, and is suitable for use on an automatic filling and packaging machine.

The wrapper forms a top of the container which has an access opening. A sealing cover is adhesively sealed to the top around the opening. The sealing cover is operable to expose the access opening and reclosable against the top to seal the access opening. The sealing cover, adhesive and top surface are optimized to provide sealing characteristics of sufficiently resealing frequency, relatively low noise level during unsealing and desirable peel forces to separate the seal between the sealing cover and the top.

A sealing label, adhesively sealed to the top around the opening, is resealable when a tab of the sealing label is pulled back. Abstract: A reclosable fastener assembly (10) for use in the manufacture of a plastic bag (30). The fastener assembly (10) includes a zipper (18) with a seal feature on a web flange (24) extending from an interlocking member (26) of a profile (28) of the zipper (18). The web flange (24) is bent at a lower portion of the web flange (24) upward to the interlocking member (26). At the lower portion, an interior face (32) of the web flange (24) is sealed to an opposite interior face (33) to form a flange seal (31). The bend (35) of the lower portion includes a weakness area (34) which, in concert with the flange seal (31), acts as a barrier and a tamper-evident feature. After the flange seal (31) is initially tom open, the weakness area (34) may be torn open to access the plastic bag (30). A method for making a reclosable plastic bag (30) is also disclosed.

Abstract: A fastener tape for use in the manufacture of reclosable plastic bags is provided. The fastener tape comprises an intermediate layer and a reclosable fastener profile thereon. The intermediate layer includes three layers of co-extruded plastic, with not more than 4% EVA as the outer two layers and HDPE as the middle layer. The intermediate layer is folded so as to bring portions of the intermediate layer into an opposing relationship. These opposing portions are then sealed together by a pair of seal bars. By carefully controlling the sealing temperature, a consistent peel seal is created between the opposing portions of the intermediate layer without the need for an adhesive.

Abstract: A reclosable package for scoopable products, such as flour and detergent. The package has a closed plastic zipper installed in a gusset. The gusset comprises first and second panels connected at a fold line. The zipper comprises first and second zipper portions respectively joined to the first and second gusset panels. In one embodiment, the zipper portions are connected by a fold line situated adjacent the gusset fold line. In another embodiment, the zipper portions are connected by a fold line situated away from the gusset. In a third embodiment, the zipper portions are not connected prior to opening the package along the gusset fold line. A peel seal is placed between the zipper portions and above the interlocked profiled closure elements of the zipper.

Abstract: A reclosable package comprises first and second opposing body panels, a reclosable seal and a one-time breakable element. The reclosable seal extends along one end and includes first track and second tracks. The first track includes a first fin portion and a first reclosable element. The first fin portion has a first end and a second end that is further from the first reclosable element. The one-time breakable element comprises first and second sections and initially extends from the first fin portion to the second fin portion. Each of the first and second sections extends upwardly and inwardly from near the respective second ends of the first and second fin portions so as to form a generally inverted U-shaped or V-shaped cross-sectional configuration. The first and second opposing body panels are attached to respective first and second sections of the one-time breakable element.

Abstract: Touch fasteners useful for bags, packaging and other products as well as novel manufacturing of products incorporating such fasteners. A composite touch fastener has a fibrous loop strip partially encapsulated in, or otherwise permanently attached to, resin of a substrate, and an array of loop-engageable fastener elements integrally molded with resin of the substrate. The center portion of the closure seals the bag until it is torn away to expose the mating bands of loops and fastener elements. Methods of applying recloseable touch fasteners, e.g. hook and loop fasteners, to sheet or film include vertical form and fill and horizontal form and fill packaging and pouch making.
