Lubricating Patents (Class 384/13)
  • Patent number: 5435649
Abstract: A linear motion guide unit is described that allows seal attachment to be performed highly accurately and easily as well as preventing dislocation of the seals after attachment. Said effects are obtained by providing projections and slots in a slider and seals and mutually engaging these projections and slots. In addition, a linear motion guide unit is described that allows lubricant to be supplied both quickly and easily without having to disassemble the linear motion guide unit even when small in size. Said effect is obtained by forming lubricant injection holes in the seals and injecting a lubricant such as grease through said lubricant injection holes with a lubricant injector.

  • Patent number: 5429439
Abstract: A linear ball guide assembly for guiding a load to move smoothly and linearly along the guide rail at low frictional resistances, including a straight guide rail, a slide block, a pair of end caps, a pair of cover plates for U-shaped ball turning grooves, a pair of loaded ball retainers and two loops of balls. Both sides of the guide rail and inner sides of the slide block are formed with linear Gothic ball grooves for increasing the load capacity of the ball guide assembly. Above the ball grooves, two recirculating holes are formed on the slide block for the recirculation of balls. The end cap is formed with U-shaped ball turning grooves for guiding the loaded balls into the recirculating holes of the slide block. The balls then go through the U-shaped ball turning grooves of the opposite end cap back to the Gothic ball grooves to complete the recirculating loop of the balls between the slide block and the guide rail.

  • Patent number: 5380096
Abstract: The linear motion rolling guide unit includes a track rail, a casing slidable with respect to the track rail, end caps mounted to the ends of the casing, and flow regulating valves installed in oil grooves formed in the end caps. When the linear motion rolling guide unit is used in an inclined condition with the right side tilted downward, the flow regulating valves may be turned clockwise to limit the flow of lubricating oil to the raceways on the right side. This makes the amounts of oil supplied to the left- and right-side raceways equal even when the linear motion rolling guide unit is used in other than a horizontal attitude, assuring good lubrication.

  • Patent number: 5380097
Abstract: A lubricating device for a linear motion rolling guide unit which ensures smooth supply of lubricating oil to the upper and lower raceways when the track rail is laid on an inclined or vertical surface of a base. A slider mounted astride the track rail has a casing slidable relative to the track rail and end caps attached to the longitudinal ends of the casing. The end caps are each formed with oil passages, branch oil passages and communication oil passages to supply lubricating oil to the raceways on both sides between the track rail and the casing. Open-close plugs are installed in the branch oil passages. The track rail is formed with communication through-holes that allow the raceways on both sides to communicate with each other. The lubricating oil, after lubricating the upper raceways, flows down the communication through-holes to lubricate the lower raceways.

  • Patent number: 5308164
Abstract: The linear motion rolling guide unit according to this invention has the casing mounted on the track rail so that it can be moved along the track rail. The end caps formed with the recessed arc surfaces for the direction changing passages are attached to the ends of the casing. To form the direction changing passages, the spacers are disposed so that they face and are spaced from the recessed arc surfaces of the end caps. A number of rollers circulate through the raceways formed between the track rail and the casing and through the direction changing passages. The roller-contacting surfaces of the spacers are formed with oil grooves that extend in the direction of roller movement. The oil grooves act as an escape for grease and also hold grease therein, thus reducing the sliding resistance.
