  • Patent number: 8090235
Abstract: The invention prevents unwanted sounds from being outputted from an AV output apparatus such as a HDTV receiver. In the invention, when a streaming signal of a predetermined format having video data and audio data is inputted to a streaming input terminal 10, separation unit 23 of a relay apparatus 2 separates this signal into the video data and audio data. HDMI transmitter 27 generates and outputs a streaming signal having the video data separated by the separation unit 23, of the same format as that of the streaming signal inputted to the streaming input terminal 10.

  • Patent number: 8086087
Abstract: A player model (1) includes an output section (10) that reads out a source packet having a transport packet and arrival time stamp from TS1 and TS2 connected seamlessly to each other and outputs the transport packet according to the arrival time stamp, and a decoder (20) that decodes the transport packet. The output section (10) inputs the transport packet according to the arrival time stamp of the source packet to the decoder (20). The decoder (20) includes an audio buffer TBn having a capacity capable of buffering the audio data corresponding to the time required for inputting I picture, which is the first picture of TS2, to a video buffer TB1.

  • Patent number: 8073201
Abstract: This invention relates to a position/orientation measurement apparatus which can measure a position and orientation while achieving both high stability and precision. An image including indices laid out on a space is captured, and the indices are detected from the captured image. When a plurality of indices are detected, their distribution range is calculated, and an algorithm to be applied in position/orientation calculations is selected according to the size of the range (S3033, S3050, S3060). For example, when the indices are distributed over a sufficiently broad range, six parameters of the position and orientation of an image capture device are calculated as unknowns (S3070). As the distribution range of the indices becomes smaller, the degrees of freedom of unknown parameters to be calculated are reduced (S3035, S3025).

  • Patent number: 8059942
Abstract: On a BD-ROM, PlayList information is recorded. The PlayList information includes MainPath information and SubPath information. The MainPath information and SubPath information include connection_condition information and sp_connection_condition information, respectively. The connection_condition information and sp_connection_condition information indicate that, when the connection state between two MainClips referred to with the MainPath information is seamless connection (CC=5), the connection state between two SubClips referred to with the SubPath information is also seamless connection (SP_CC=5). In the case of CC=5 and sp_CC=5, IN_time of PlayItem is equal to IN_time(SubPlayItem_IN_time) of SubPlayItem.

  • Patent number: 7894706
Abstract: When data of image information is compressed and is recorded on a recording medium, additional information about the image information is recorded in a conveniently usable state. There is provided read/write unit information as a unit of reading and writing the compressed image information to the recording medium. The read/write unit information contains a plurality of units of decoding and reproducing unit information that comprises one frame (or one field) of the image information. At least one piece of decoding and reproducing unit information is subject to compression encoding through the use of only image information in the decoding and reproducing unit. In the read/write unit information, there is multiplexed and recorded additional information about the decoding and reproducing unit information for a plurality of units within the read/write unit in an extractable manner separately from the compressed image information.

  • Patent number: 7890985
Abstract: A media server in a home entertainment network allows a media rendering device to act as a digital media receiver. The media server enables trick mode functions such as scan forward or reverse, slow motion, pause, and seek on rendering devices with capabilities limited to 1× playback. The media server receives commands from user input at the rendering device transmitted over the network to the media server. The media server manipulates the media stream before transmission over the network by deleting or adding frames to the media stream as necessary to emulate the desired playback functions and replacing frame timestamps to create a media stream that appears to the media rendering device as a sequential 1× stream. The transmitted media stream may not contain all of the media content stored in the corresponding media file on the media server, thus avoiding limitations on the download bandwidth and local client storage.
