  • Patent number: 6098475
Abstract: A leverage mechanism actuating device includes a drive member with an output shaft to drive rotatably a rotary body around an axis. A force transmission member is moved relative to the rotary body between first and second positions by a centrifugal force generated by a rotary driving force applied by the output shaft on the rotary body. Movement of the force transmission member enables the force transmission member to convert the rotary driving force into a translational lifting force in a direction parallel to the axis. A leverage mechanism includes a fulcrum, and first and second locations. The first location is associated operably with the force transmission member. The second location is adapted to be connected to a toy. Thus, the first location is actuated by the translational lifting force of the force transmission member to result in a power output at the second location for initiating motion of the toy.

  • Patent number: 5692328
Abstract: An apparatus for displaying a flag, banner, or pennant, so as to simulate waving in wind, is particularly adapted for use with a novelty flag that is scaled for use in model railroad layouts. The apparatus employs a correspondingly scaled flag staff for coupling with and supporting the flag along one edge thereof. A drive arrangement is coupled to the flag staff at the base thereof for producing a rotatory oscillating motion. Electrical energy for the drive arrangement, which includes a small electric motor having a motor shaft with an eccentric element attached thereto, is provided from a conventional energy source, such as batteries. Coupling between the flag staff and the drive arrangement is achieved via a mechanical energy storage device that includes a resilient spring arranged to receive mechanical energy from the drive arrangement. The eccentric element attached to the motor shaft includes a mechanical striker that is in the form of a spring wire wound about the motor shaft.

  • Patent number: 5675921
Abstract: A transmission structure is set forth for a crystal-like ball, which comprises a glass ball and a rubber seal; the center of the rubber seal has a tube-shaped round hole for receiving a shaft of a rotary structure; the shaft extends from the inside of the glass ball to the outer end of the rubber seal, and connects with a universal joint; the shaft is to be driven in rotation with a transmission structure so as to actuate an ornament in the glass ball to rotate. The outer edge of the open end of the glass ball is connected with the upper edge of a hollow and round ornament; the bottom edge of the hollow and round ornament is glued onto an outer top surface of a base disc on a base. The hollow and round ornament is a transparent member, through which a rotary ornament therein can been seen. The bottom edge of the rotary ornament is glued onto the ring surface of the turntable on the base; the turntable is mounted on a projected ring of the base disc.

  • Patent number: 5666750
Abstract: Ornamental display device for simulating snowfall over a display object or scene positioned within a housing comprises a liquid filled compartment rotatably arranged within the housing. The compartment includes first and second opposed sidewalls having aligned transparent portions defining a sealed interior cavity for receiving the liquid. The liquid within the cavity is substantially transparent and a plurality of snow-simulating flake particles are dispersed within the liquid. Blade members radially arranged within the compartment are oriented at a predetermined angle so as to transport flake particles from the lower zone of the cavity to the upper zone as the compartment is rotated. The transparent sidewall portions are aligned with the display object or scene so that the object or scene can be viewed during continuous recirculation of the flake particles.

  • Patent number: 5655945
Abstract: A video and radio controlled remote device control system including at least one moving and talking remote device is presented. Standard video tapes used .in cameras or to home record TV programs have unused space on which data can be stored. This space may be called the vertical interval space. Appropriate digital control data is recorded in this unused vertical interval space. The encoded signal is played when the tape plays and is detected by a control box coupled between the VCR and the television. The control box generates an RF (radio) signal as a function of the encoded signal. A radio receiver in at least one, and possibly substantially more than one device receives the signal and as a function thereof generates selected voice and/or other sounds and mechanical control signals. Each device has a plurality of motors. Selected motors are controlled as a function of response to the transmitted signals.
