  • Patent number: 5657562
Abstract: The card is preferably made of cardboard and has two precut elements. The first one has an elongated rectangular base from which projects a representation of a known personage, preferably a showbusiness or sports star, which is printed on one or both sides of the card. The base has two opposite ends in which transverse slots are precut. The second element precut in the card is in the shape of an elongated rectangular band foldable at mid-length, which has two opposite ends in which slots are also precut. The slots of the base and the band are positioned so that, when the first and second elements have been cut and the band has been folded at mid-length, the slots of the band are engageable into the slots of the base of the first element to fix the band to the base and thus forms a triangular support from which the representation of the known personage extends perpendicularly. Positioning of this support on a horizontal surface gives a standing full length portrait of the personage on this horizontal surface.

  • Patent number: 5363578
Abstract: An identification panel for a cabinet for electronic equipment, such as computers or computer peripherals. A back panel is mounted to an intermediate window and doorframe member having a control door frame, and a translucent window aligned with the back panel. The back panel may incorporate permanent identifying artwork for the equipment. This assemblage is accommodated in an opening of, and secured to, an external cover frame. The cover frame opening also accommodates a control panel door mounted on the intermediate window and doorframe member to cover the doorframe opening and slidable behind the translucent window to uncover the doorframe opening. The translucent window has a part-cylindrical convex surface which projects through the cover frame opening to provide a lens effect which enhances the visibility of artwork provided on the back panel.

  • Patent number: 5287641
Abstract: A card device, comprising an elongated blank folded to form a front panel and a back panel and including a fastener means to form a card with one unsealed end. The front panel has a die cut opening of a predetermined size and shape with a clear window panel covering the opening and displaying a first image thereon. An image enhancing slidable insert sized to be inserted between the front and back panels through the unsealed end is provided and includes an outwardly facing surface contrasting with the first image to enhance the first image. A second image is placed on the inwardly facing surface of the back panel, including a visible image portion and a background portion which is aligned to substantial reduce the visibility of the first image. Accordingly, insertion of the slidable insert enhances the first image and removal of the slidable insert causes exposure of the second image to the substantial exclusion of the first image.

  • Patent number: 5259133
Abstract: A pop-up display device is erectable to provide, for example, a pop-up action figure as part of a baseball card or the like. The device comprises a flat base portion forming a support for the device and an erectable display portion disposed in a non-erected state so as to overlie the base portion and including a pop-up portion partially cut out from the erectable display portion adjacent to a central transverse fold line therein. Disposed between the erectable display portion and the base portion is a pull tab member which includes a pull tab located at one end thereof and which is secured to the erectable display portion such that a pulling force exerted on the pull tab will cause the erectable display portion to elevate from the plane of the base portion at the fold line and to thereby cause the pop-up portion to be erected so as to extend outwardly from the remainder of the erectable display portion at the fold line. A blank for making the device is also provided.
