Abstract: An advertising display apparatus comprising a hollow receiving tube with an essentially closed distal end and an essentially open proximal end enclosed within a base region, means for retaining a preprinted material inserted through said base region, wherein the hollow receiving tube comprises a plurality of faces where at least one face is transparent and through which said preprinted material may be viewed. The plurality of faces comprising the hollow receiving tube are preferably of a convex shape. Included within the base region is a retention lip which extends into and partially occludes the essentially open proximal end of the hollow receiving tube. The base region may include additional fitments to allow for attachment of the display apparatus to surfaces not of a flat horizontal orientation. The base region may further include means for producing light or sound.

Abstract: One media display system for a ski-lift chair includes a base and panels. Each panel forms a window for viewing printed media; the panels cooperate with each other and with the base member such that securing one of the panels to the base secures the other panels to the base. Another media display system has a base that forms a flange along one of its front and rear edges. A top panel has a groove to engage the flange, and forms one or more windows for viewing printed media. A connector fastens the top panel along the opposite edge of the base from the flange. Another media display system includes a base. A top panel that forms one or more windows for viewing printed media is hingedly attached to the base. Either the top panel or the base has a locking mechanism configured to engage the other.

Abstract: A label holder, that can be selectively mounted to an associated merchandise display shelf/includes a front panel and a rear panel. A hinge connects the front panel to the rear panel, creating a pocket between the front panel and the rear panel for receiving an associated label. A retaining member projects rearwardly from the rear panel. A first lip extends rearwardly from the rear panel, in a manner spaced from the retaining member. The first lip engages an angled forward portion of the associated display shelf when the label holder is in an installed position.

Abstract: A signage system includes a support, a housing attached to the support, and a first sign. The support includes a substantially horizontal member having a first end and a second end; a bracket for mounting the support to an upright, the bracket being attached to the first end of the substantially horizontal member; and a shell extending from the second end of the substantially horizontal member. The housing is attached within the shell of the support and includes a first ring, a second ring connected to the first ring, a first plate, and a second plate positioned adjacent to the first plate. The first plate and the second plate are positioned between the first ring and the second ring. The first sign is releasably retained between the first ring and the first plate by frictional engagement of edges of the first sign with the first ring and the first plate. The signage system is adapted to be supported by the bracket in a cantilevered configuration.

Abstract: The pet identification wallet is a non-rigid wallet designed to wrap around a pet's collar. The wallet has a large buttonhole in it, allowing the metal “D” ring on the collar to pass thru the wallet for external leash or lanyard attachment. The identification wallet allows for the lengthy and detailed amounts of owner and pet information required in today's information society. The industry standard metal pet tags/licenses, which are usually required by law to be affixed to the collar's “D” ring, wrap up and become encapsulated inside the wallet keeping them from falling off, wearing out, and making noise. The outside of the wallet has a clear plastic sleeve and/or name placard where reflective material having the pet's name printed on it is slid inside the clear outer sleeve or affixed, making the pet easily identifiable and safer at night.

Abstract: A method of printing price information tags and signs includes providing a digital press, a data management system with computer hardware connected for internet access, a database of stored/archived information, and a supply of sheets having a suitable stiffness and surface quality for use as price information tags and signs. Updated information is received electronically via the internet, and combined with selected elements from the stored/archived information to generate customized tag data, which is communicated through a data flow balancer to the digital press(es) to print customized price information tags. The tags are cut to size and include attachment barbs. The customized tag data is arranged to print tags in a series corresponding to product arrangement on particular store shelves. The customized price information tags can be printed and shipped on a just-in-time basis and in a predetermined sequence within at least 24 hours of receiving the real-time digital information.

Abstract: A label holder is provided for mounting on a shelf channel. The label holder includes a front panel, a back panel connected to the front panel with a common bottom edge with a cavity there between. The label holder also has a protective flange along a top edge of the back panel and a shelf clip portion separated from the back panel by a common top edge. The shelf clip portion includes an upward retaining flange for engaging the shelf and includes a downward angled engaging portion terminating in a catch flange and a curved resilient hinge portion that is configured to encompass the catch flange and terminate in an upward flange. The shelf clip portion provides resilient clamping onto the shelf. The catch flange is configured to engage a lower shelf channel flange as the curved resilient hinge wraps an arcuate channel of the shelf.

Abstract: A device is provided for shielding a contactless smartcard or RFID tag from reading. The device can include a first panel for holding and presenting a contactless smartcard, a second panel comprising a shielding material that prevents unauthorized reading of information when the contactless smartcard is in proximity to or resting on the second panel, and a hinge coupling the first panel and the second panel. The hinge keeps the device closed for preventing unauthorized reading, and open when a force is applied for allowing authorized reading. The contactless smartcard can be inserted between the first panel and the second panel.

Abstract: Described is a label cassette for mounting to the front side of an enclosure and for holding and displaying a label used to identify a configuration of that enclosure. The label cassette includes a transparent cover, a tray, and a hinge mechanism. The tray has a pair of guide rails for engaging respective guide structures on the enclosure to align the label cassette for attachment to the enclosure, a capture mechanism to secure the label cassette to the enclosure, and a label surface to hold a label. The hinge mechanism attaches the transparent cover to the tray and permits rotation about an axis parallel to the back edge of the transparent cover. Mounted to a ledge that extends from the front of the enclosure, the label cassette does not occupy vertical space or interfere with connectors, cables, or airflow vents on the front of the enclosure.

Abstract: In one embodiment, there is shown a system and method of allowing a user to gain access to information pertaining to certain equipment by pulling a label out of an opening in a surface of the equipment, viewing information on the label; and pushing the label back into the opening. In a further embodiment, the label is captive to the equipment independent from a bezel surrounding the equipment. In a still further embodiment of the invention, the label has on it pre-established information pertaining to the equipment, as well as user added information.

Abstract: A versatile label holder adapted to be stably secured in C-channels of various widths such as are found in Lozier, Madix and Streater shelves without significantly modifying the angle normally presented with each of these shelves. The label holder includes a rearwardly extending leg adapted to be captured by the lower lip of the C-channel, a portion of which is resilient and arcuate, extending first upwardly and then downwardly to provide a spring-like element, the effective length of which can vary depending on the spacing between the lips of the C-channel.

Abstract: Label holders adapted to be mounted on a supporting surface formed of a grid of wire rods, such as a wire basket, a wire rack, a wire shelf or the like. The label holder includes a planar backing element supporting the label holder portion for viewing at a preselected angle, with a trapezoidal connector formed in the backing element to snappingly engage over a horizontally extending wire rod of the grid. The trapezoidal connector may include a plurality of flexible bumps or ridges for enhanced gripping of the wire rods of the grid. The remainder of the backing element rests against the vertically extending wire rods of the grid.

Abstract: An identification labeling system having a faceplate with a recess and a label cover that may be retained within the recess. The label cover may have compartments for retaining identification labels. The label cover has latching legs and the recess has a complementary retention ledge. A lift slot may be provided to facilitate removal of the label cover. The recess may contain holes to accommodate individual molded identification icons. The recess may include tapered corners to accommodate strip labels of different widths and lengths, such labels being positioned by the tapered corners of the recess and the label cover. The recess includes end configurations that prevent a label from passing through the surface of the faceplate. The label cover has a thickness so as to be flush with the faceplate. The label may be the same color as the faceplate.

Abstract: A sign holder including a main portion, a flange, and an interface hook. The main portion longitudinally extends in a substantially planar manner and defines a top end, a bottom end opposite the top end, a first surface, and a second surface opposite the first surface. The flange is folded back from the bottom end toward the top end and the first surface of the main portion. The flange is biased toward the first surface of the main portion. The interface hook is folded back from the top end toward the second surface and the bottom end of the main portion and is configured to receive a portion of a shelf assembly to couple the sign holder to the shelf assembly. A pocket is defined between the main panel and the flange and is configured to receive a printed medium. Display systems and methods of use provide additional advantages.

The method of this embodiment may also include providing a label surface capable of moving between a deployed position and a stowed position. When the label surface is in a deployed position at least a portion of the label surface extends outwardly from the faceplate relative to the circuit board. Of course, many alternatives, variations, and modifications are possible without departing from this embodiment.

Abstract: An insertion device is described which enables an operator to easily insert flat cards into the pockets provided in display devices. The device has the general shape of a miniature dust pan having a flat floor and which has a tapered nose for insertion into said pockets. The device includes shallow vertical sides which slope upwardly from the floor of the device adjacent said nose so as to lift the upper surface of the pocket when inserted therein. A card is then laid on the device, the dimensions of the card, insertion device, and the pocket having been previously decided, and the card is now slid along the floor of the insertion device into the pocket.

Abstract: An integrally extruded price tag molding and front-end stop plate for use on a flat shelf or inclined gravity-feed shelf, wherein the height of the stop plate may be designed to safely keep contents of each dispensing track from falling onto the floor. The angle of the price tag molding may be designed to facilitate its viewing by the consumer. The mounting rail clamp portion of the unit may be designed to facilitate the installation of the unit onto the front rail of any shelf in the display. The upper and lower price tag channels may be designed in order to accept a variety of labelling media or advertising indicia.

Abstract: A conveyor belt divider used to separate different customers' orders on a conveyor belt at a checkout register. The conveyor belt divider is configured to hold a plurality of items, such as small bottles, that may be removed by a customer at a checkout register. A gripping element may be associated with the holding channel in which the items are held to retain the items securely within the holding channel. A stabilizing element may be provided to stabilize the conveyor belt divider to maintain the items held by the conveyor belt divider in an upright position.

Abstract: A transparent divider to be used at checkout conveyors for separating one customers order from the next customers order. The divider is an elongate bar which has an open bottom for ease of stacking or sliding along a checkout rail. A slot is formed in the side walls of the divider into which a sheet of printed advertisement can be folded and slid. The advertisement is visible, preferably on all side walls of the divider. The divider is available in a number of different shapes and can be made as a single piece or as an inner divider with a transparent cover.

The attachment structure includes a J-strip member fixedly secured to the supporting surface to define a channel for receiving a locking strip that is integral with the label holder. The J-strip includes a flexible bead that engages the upper planar surface of the locking strip and includes an elongated slot that receives a flexible bead integral with the locking strip. The flexible bead of the locking strip engages the elongated slot within the J-strip to secure the locking strip, and its integral label holder, within the J-strip.

The labeling sheet comprises a plurality of friction coated labels removably secured to the release liner. The friction-coated labels include a face stock and a friction coating integrally connected to the face stock. The face stock has printed indicia thereon relating to the merchandise. The friction coating may comprise a weak adhesive that is adapted to inhibit migration of the friction coated labels but is not strong enough to provide a self supporting reliable adhesive bond for retail applications.

The frictional force between the sheet material and the inserted document retains a document inserted into the pressure region formed between two adjacent layers.

Abstract: An index card (10) holding device (12) to be attached to the surface of an object in a very convenient location which can be used to keep notes and record ideas when they are needed. The device allows the outer card being held to be in full view to the user. The outer end caps (18) are closely connected to the middle spacers (16) which are closely connected to the inner flat plate (14) in manner which creates a slot for holding 5 to 20 index cards (10) while allowing the cards to be removed and replaced easily. The thickness of the cards (10) being held creates the holding pressure against the inner flat plate piece (14) and the outer end caps (18). The shape of the middle spacers (16) prevents the cards from sliding out the back of the device. The present invention is attached to a surface by means of pressure sensitive adhesive.
