Specifically, a block made from a rigid material includes an image over at least a portion of a first surface and a magnet on at least a portion of a second surface of the block. The block is disposed within a frame or board having a metallic and/or magnetic surface thereon and/or is provided on a metallic and/or magnetized surface. A plurality of blocks having images thereon are disposed together in a tiled arrangement, either in the frame, board or otherwise on the metallic and/or magnetic surface. Moreover, a system comprises the magnetic blocks having images thereon and a frame, board and/or metallic and/or magnetic surface. Methods of making and using the same are further provided.

Abstract: An artifact frame comprised of a hollow container bordered on front, rear, left and right sides and bottom to define an interior cavity into which can be placed ornamental material. On the front or back panel, or side or bottom panels, the artifact to be displayed may be mounted. Any number of mounting configurations are contemplated to be within the scope of the invention. A top panel may also be provided, which may be partially or totally removable to permit access to the interior cavity for the mounting of the artifact and placement of the ornamental material.

Abstract: A three-dimensional supporting frame includes a blank. The blank includes an image receiving surface, a back surface opposed to the image receiving surface, a center portion defining a perimeter, and at least three foldable extensions extending from the perimeter. Each of the foldable extensions includes no less than four folds to be folded toward the back surface to form the three-dimensional supporting frame. A tab line is scored in one of the folds of each of the at least three foldable extensions, the tab line to be released to form a tab to be secured to the back surface when the folds are folded. An adhesion promoting layer is present on the back surface at the center portion.

Abstract: A picture frame molding according to one embodiment includes an elongated body that has an exterior wall, a first channel formed therein for receiving a first member, and a second channel formed therein for receiving a second member. The first and second channels are at least substantially parallel to one another. The elongated body also includes an interior angled wall that is joined to the exterior wall and is formed at an angle thereto. The interior angled wall includes a track that receives an object, such as matboard. The track faces away from the exterior wall and is formed between and at an angle to the first and second channels.

Abstract: Systems and methods for producing an accessorizable frame system comprising a display plate, a frame plate, and an attachment, which selectively and releaseably holds the display plate away from the frame plate, are disclosed. In some cases, the attachment that connects the display plate to the frame plate includes a clip that extends from the display plate and which is configured to be received in a corresponding opening within the frame plate. In some instances, to accessorize the frame system, a user adds an aligner, a liner, a back cover, and/or any other suitable component to the frame system.

Abstract: A lighting fixture and method for creating visual effects include a light box having an interior, a reflective inner surface and an opening, a plate covering the opening, a 3-dimentional image on the plate having a first depth, at least one light source disposed in the interior for illuminating the image with evenly spread light. The light source is disposed at a second depth behind the image. A ratio of first to second depths is between 7:7 and 7:21. A plurality of interchangeable plates may be provided with respective 3-dimentional images for creating different effects. A method for creating a distorted image includes preparing a 2-dimensional image, sculpting a 3-dimensional model, vacuum forming and running a 3-dimentional grid, drawing a distorted outline onto a 2-dimentional grid with photo management software, digitally matching and stretching an original image to match the outline and removing the outline leaving the distorted image.

Abstract: An art frame includes a three-dimensional supporting frame having an image receiving surface and a back surface opposed thereto, and a center portion defining a perimeter from which at least three foldable extensions extend. Each foldable extension includes no less than four folds folded toward the back surface to form a frame portion having an outer wall substantially perpendicular to the back surface, and an inner wall substantially perpendicular to the back surface and substantially parallel to the outer wall. A compressible member is attached to the outer walls to adhere an image receiving medium to the supporting frame. Compressible member includes a first adhesive on the outer walls, a polymer foam substrate (having a compression index ranging from about 0.4 to about 0.8) on the first adhesive, and a second adhesive on the polymer foam substrate. Second adhesive is to secure the image receiving medium to the supporting frame.

Abstract: A multi-planar image display system includes an insert having sheets being held in alignment at opposite edges. The sheets have particularly predetermined widths such that when aligned and affixed to each other, the sheets form predetermined curve profiles with equal spacing between the sheets, allowing a sharp, realistic 3D image to be produced from 2D images printed on the sheets. The system may further include a frame to securely hold the insert in tension without requiring additional fasteners. The frame may hold one or more inserts and allow easy insertion and removal of each insert. The frame may accommodate a cover, a board, a light panel, a cap, a casing, and/or other feature(s) to protect or otherwise accompany the 3D image produced by the insert.

Abstract: A display apparatus is provided for displaying a jersey with a three-dimensional view with a vision effect of floating in mid-air in an enclosed environment. The display apparatus comprises an outer casing body, a front and a back clear screen, an inner support member, an optional desk support and an opening means. In particular, when a jersey is supported by the inner support member as provided, the support member is invisible such that it contributes to the mid-air floating visual effect. Abstract: A picture frame moulding according to one embodiment includes an elongated body that has an exterior wall, a first channel formed therein for receiving a first member, and a second channel formed therein for receiving a second member. The first and second channels are at least substantially parallel to one another. The elongated body also includes an interior angled wall that is joined to the exterior wall and is formed at an angle thereto. A completely removable front frame fastens to the back frame by first latching the top back of the front frame to the top of the back frame. A first surface joined with a second surface at an angle is provided and the first piece is located on the first surface and the second piece is located on the second surface such that the image or partial image, on the front of one piece combines with the image or partial image, on the side of another piece to create a unified image. An unlimited number of pieces as well as surfaces as well as varying angles can be used to create the unified image.

Abstract: The present invention is a display device configured to display sheet like materials such as photos, cards, pictures, patches, and the like. It includes an external frame with a double shoulder configuration in its internal perimeter, a lattice network formed into one or central display areas and supported by the front shoulder, and a transparent front facing a transparent rear facing supported by the rear shoulder. Display items are supported between the front facing and rear facing. Retainers of various types may be used to hold the components in place. Supports are described for mounting or otherwise displaying the display device of the present invention.

The term “kinetic art” refers to paintings or pictures, which have been designed to be shaped in a pleated manner and displayed in 3 dimensions to afford the viewer different images dependant upon the viewer's position in relation to the art. Kinetic art paper consists of a repeated pattern of long vertical strips of equal size separated by channels which define the precise location of where folds should be made to form a uniform pattern of pleats. Abstract: A frame system for holding a normally flat picture and bending it into a concavo-convex shape for adding a three dimensional effect and/or eye movement effect to its display. Abstract: A method is provided for producing a composite work from a single two-dimensional work having an image thereon. A flat backing member is provided having generally the same shape and size as the two-dimensional work. The work and the backing member are bonded together to form a work piece. The work piece is cut to define a geometrically shaped center section and a separate perimeter section, thereby breaking the image of the two-dimensional work regardless of individual sculptural components of the work so that each of the sections displays the respective portion of the broken image. The center section and border section are then assembled such that the continuity of the image formed by the sections is broken.

Abstract: An artistically stained glass copper-foiled mirror and frame assembly has a mirror portion and an attachable decorative bracket and an outer frame. The mirror portion can be sand blasted along the boundary thereof and the decorative bracket has a removable central portion to permit the mirror portion to be exposed. The decorative bracket is equipped with decorative patterns made of various materials that are created and worked according to their natural features to make the decorative patterns versatile and fascinating. The mirror and the decorative bracket are enclosed by the outer frame and retained in the frame by retaining members so that a damaged mirror can be replaced with ease.
