Abstract: A stick-type cosmetic container including an outer cylinder, a sleeve, an inner container in which a stick-type cosmetic can be filled, one or more small projections provided on the inner container being guided by an inner container guiding groove formed on the sleeve, the small projection moving upward and downward along a helical groove formed on the inner surface of the outer cylinder, and the stick-type cosmetic filled in the inner container being projected and retracted. The lower end of the inner container guiding groove formed on the sleeve is opened and a retaining mechanism for the small projection is provided at the lower portion of the inner container guiding groove. Refilling and replacement of the stick-type cosmetic container can be performed by the use of a simple jig, and there is no problem of dropping of the inner container when in use.

At least one protuberance, which can be inflexible, can project from a shoulder portion of the innerbody and can be axially aligned with a flexible wall segment of the spiral member thereby to produce a frictional drag between the innerbody and the spiral member. The flexible wall segment of the spiral member can comprise a proximally disposed skirt. Axial movement of the elevator member can be produced by opposed lugs that project from the elevator member through opposed longitudinal tracks in the innerbody and into engagement with opposed spiral threads on the spiral member.

The threaded cylinder includes a threaded portion corresponding to the spiral shell pillar. A locking portion is formed in the base corresponding to the locking portion of the sleeve. The stick container is structurally simple and easy to assemble, which will largely reduce its fabrication cost.

The cup includes at least one lug on a stem fixed below the well. The lug is flexible and engages with a helical groove in the inner wall of the base. The lug can be disengaged from the groove, in particular at the ends of the groove. The arrangement allows “free” rotation in a plane orthogonal to an axis of the spiral. The device includes a sleeve mounted in free rotation about the base, whereas it is fixed in rotation with the cup. The cup moves axially as a function of rotation of the sleeve relative to the base.

The cam skirt ribs bear against the beveled shoulder to create frictional drag between the innerbody and the cam sleeve, and to cause the cam sleeve to be urged upwardly. The ribs on the inner wall of the cam skirt extend at an angle relative to a centerline of said dispenser, and preferably are angled the same direction as the internal helical tracks of the cam sleeve. There are from three to seven, preferably, five or six of said ribs located equidistantly from each other around said inner wall of said cam skirt. The ribs may be connected with each other by webs or separated by slots.

Abstract: A cosmetic package is provided for a stick cosmetic, such as lipstick, which allows the color of the lipstick to be visible without opening the package. The package includes a base, a protective sleeve and a collar. The base includes inner and outer cylindrical walls joined at the bottom to form a cylindrical space therebetween. The protective sleeve is adapted to fit into this annular space. The collar is rotatably mounted on the base and has a helical track adapted to engage a corresponding lug on the sleeve. When the collar is rotated, the sleeve is propelled upwardly to surround and protect the cosmetic. When rotated in the other direction, the collar causes the sleeve to be retracted to allow for application of the cosmetic. The protective sleeve may be transparent so that the color shade of the lipstick is evident when the sleeve is in the upwardly extended position surrounding the lipstick.

Abstract: A pronged carrier for a cosmetic pomade is provided for use in a cosmetic dispenser such as a lipstick dispenser. The pomade carrier is made of a platform with at least two spikelike blades that project from the surface of the platform. The blades have two blade members and, in a preferred arrangement, one blade member is disposed adjacent to the peripheral edge of the platform and the second blade member is angled toward the center of the platform. When a pomade is placed onto the carrier, the cooperative action of the blade members of the blades secure the pomade on the carrier.

Abstract: A double cup pomade assembly for improving pomade retention is adaptable for use with both bottom filling and Lop filling machinery. A pomade retention cup having at least one pomade retention finger has a snap-fit geometry for anchoring it within an elevator cup. The elevator cup is provided with lugs for interaction with conventional extend-and-retract mechanism. One embodiment of the pomade retention cup is symmetrical, avoiding “improper” insertion into a mold. Another embodiment of the pomade retention cup includes a flange at one end for preventing formula leakage during molding and providing an enlarged surface area to offset the forces generated when the elevator cup is pressed into engagement with the pomade retention cup.

The flexible tabs are movable between a first position, wherein said flexible tab forms an acute angle with the side wall opening toward said bottom end, and a second position, wherein said flexible tab is substantially flush with said inner surface of the side wall. The flexible tab is deflectable from the first position to the second position upon receipt of a pomade and positively engages said pomade by returning to said first position by a spring force created in the flexible tab by the deflection from the first to the second position.

A seat is slidably received in the tube for holding a lipstick material and is guided to move along the tube when the tube is rotated relative to the barrel. The free end of the barrel includes a peripheral flange extended and curved radially inward and then extended downward for forming a reinforcing end portion and for preventing the barrel from being deformed by a user when the user holds the barrel.

Interiorly there is a spline tube having a pair of opposed vertical tracks terminating in an upper catch and a lower catch. A riser cup is provided with a plurality of circumferentially downwardly spaced legs which deflect outwardly to resiliently engage the interior portion of the spline tube. A relaxation taper at the lower portion of the spline tube receives the depending legs from the riser cup and thereby lets them expand to a relaxed condition in which condition they will retain their set. At the opposed portion of the motion, when the cup is near the top, provision is made for windows which are short vertical slots in the cup and in coordinated relationship with the helical track so that at the upper portion of its motion the helical cup legs rest either in the vertical track of the spline tube or in the windows.

One embodiment of the pomade retention cup is symmetrical eliminating improper insertion into a mold. Another embodiment of the pomade retention cup includes a flange at one end for preventing formula leakage during molding and providing an enlarged surface area to offset the forces generated when the elevator cup is pressed around the pomade retention cup.

A slot is provided in the cylindrical wall which extends to the bottom and is delimited by two side edges linked by an upper edge opposite the bottom. The opening includes the device for retaining the stick.

Abstract: A dispenser includes a holder/carrier for products of stick-like form to enable application of a wide variety of materials. A plurality of resilient/flexible barbs having spring-like properties extend into the holder/carrier for embedding into the received material. The barbs preclude dislodgment of the stick-like product which may occur due to vibration caused during shipment or subsequent use of the dispenser.

Abstract: A device for packaging and applying a crumbleable solid product in the form of a stick, includes a case of with a longitudinal axis, a first end of which includes a free edge delimiting an exit orifice for the product, a cup supporting the stick inside the case, a drive mechanism capable of causing the cup to slide axially in the case, a cap which is removable so that it can close off the exit orifice, the cap being closed at one of its ends, a first seal provided in the closed end of the cap, the first seal having a face which is substantially leaktight to the product, and which is intended to rest against the free edge of the case when the cap is held fixed on the case, wherein the first seal comprises at least one block of a cellular material which is elastically compressible in many directions, so as to allow the sealed face to interact in a sealing way with the free edge of the case, irrespective of the profile of the edge.

Abstract: A case for lipstick and similar materials with respectively rotating concentric tubes with axial movement of cup-slider (2) which bears stick (1) of pasty substance, characterized by the fact that it has a device for braking with respect to rotation and compensation for axial play between the tubes consisting of flange (10), added on or not, connected to the base of internal tube (5) and having at least one flexible extension (14) which bears elastically against edge (15) of the base of external tube (7).

Abstract: Lipstick refills in a plurality of colors are packaged in a cylindrical body (3), which is clear plastic along its upper half. The body defines one or more helical grooves (7) in a lower half which receive tips (6a, 6b) of a sliding unit (4) in which a stick of lipstick is received. A pointed hollow element (12) covers the stick of lipstick during transportation and sale, but is removed for use. The sliding unit defines one or more longitudinal grooves (5a, 5b) which slidingly receive longitudinally extending ribs (2a, 2b) of a base (1) when detents (8a) of the base snap into annular groove (9) of the body. As the body and base are rotated relative to each other, the interaction of the longitudinal ribs (2a, 2b) and the longitudinal groove (5a, 5b) cause the sliding unit to rotate relative to the body and follow along the spiral grooves extending and retracting the stick of lipstick.

Abstract: A lipstick case includes an inner tubular member having an intermediate portion formed with two opposite Z-shaped slots. The inner tubular member has an upper end having a spherical portion on which are formed a pair of grooves. Each groove first extends slantwise from an upper edge to a lower edge and then extends horizontally along the surface of the lower edge. A pair of curved covers have a shape of a quarter of a sphere and a projection fitted in a respective one of the grooves. An intermediate tubular member is formed with a spiral groove and a flange close to a lower end of the intermediate tubular member. A tubular seat has an open top through which a lipstick is fitted therein, the tubular seat having a protuberance extending through the Z-shaped slot into the spiral groove. A rotatable base is rotatably fitted in a lower end of the intermediate tubular member and has a plurality of projections engaged with the holes of the inner tubular member.

Abstract: A cosmetic container having concentrically arranged tubular members which frictionally cooperate to achieve the desired torque. The cosmetic container includes a cosmetic carrier and an inner sleeve. The cosmetic carrier includes a pair of outwardly extending radial protrusions and a pair of carrier lugs. The inner sleeve includes a pair of longitudinal channels for receiving the carrier lugs and a pair of longitudinal slots for cooperating with the radial protrusions. The radial protrusions are wider than the corresponding longitudinal slot and only a portion thereof is received within the longitudinal slot. Other portions frictionally engage resilient borders of the inner sleeve defining the longitudinal slot.

Abstract: A dispenser container for a rod-like cosmetic (1) comprises a cartridge body (A) accommodating the rod-like cosmetic (1) and including a holder cylinder (2) having a peripheral wall provided with engaging projections (3), and an inner body cylinder (4) in which the holder cylinder (2) is vertically movably arranged. The inner body cylinder (4) has a peripheral wall provided with guide slits (5) through which the engaging projections (3) extend, for guiding the holder cylinder (2) while preventing rotation relative to each other. The cartridge body (A) is inserted into a container main body (B) which includes a main body cylinder (14) and a sleeve (13) accommodated within the main body cylinder (14) so as to be rotatable and vertically movable within a predetermined range.

Abstract: A cosmetic container (10) comprises a housing assembly (1, 3, 4, 7, 9) with an annular projection (8) and a cap assembly (11, 12) with an inner cap member (12) engageable with the annular projection. The inner cap member has a thin wall portion (15) defined between a pair of upper and lower annular external swells (16, 17), which is deformed to provide air-tight engagement with the annular projection in a capped condition. The lower swell (16) acts as a first stopper against removal of the cap assembly from the housing assembly, whereas the upper swell (17) acts as a second stopper against excessive insertion of the housing assembly into the cap assembly.
