In one implementation, the refill cap and extraction lever make and break an attachment between a magnetic cup provided with the lipstick and the magnetic catch inside the permanent decorative dispenser. In an implementation, a swivel-up dispenser extends and retracts the lipstick. At extension, the user can twist a derailer, which then provides an additional groove for further extending and raising the lipstick from the dispenser for removal by the refill cap. A working cap is provided to cap the lipstick between refills.

Relative rotations cause stick-type cosmetic material retained by a core chuck member to slide forward and backward along an axial hole of the cylinder. Axially extending first slide grooves along an inner circumference of the hole have an inside diameter almost equal to a diameter of the material. Second grooves, deeper than the first, extend continuously from ends of the first grooves. Claws at a front-end section of the chuck retain the material and are slidably guided by the grooves. Back surfaces of the claws slide into contact with bottoms of the first grooves. Inner surfaces of the claws almost coincide with an inside diameter of the hole. If the material is loaded in the chuck with the claws at the second grooves, the claws elastically deform outward and the claws receive the material. With the claws at the first grooves, the claws tightly sandwich the material.

A part of a stick that has been projected from the opening of the tip of the front barrel can be restored in the front barrel by a reverse turning operation of the rear barrel.

The assembly includes a symmetrical storage container member, which has an open top end, an open bottom end, and an interior surface. A pusher member is positioned inside the container member and includes a sealing lip portion, which provides a continuous seal between the pusher member and the container member interior surface. The pusher member supports a slug of solid material within the container member. An applicator cap member is releasably secured to the open top end of the container member. The cap member includes a blade portion with a scraper edge and a comb edge. The blade portion is used for manipulating the solid material once applied to a surface.

Abstract: An applicator (1) is provided, such that an end closure or a proximal plug (3) fitted in a cylindrical body (2) of the applicator can be removed easily without use of a coin or the like tool. Repeated easy operations for attaching and detaching the plug will not impair firm engagement of the plug with the body, protecting the plug from inadvertently slipping off. The plug (3) is a double-cylinder composed of an outer tube (15) combined with an inner tube (16), and two slots (30,31) are formed in the outer tube so as to extend from its rear end to, and desirably across, a flange (25). Fore ends of the slots continue to a cutout (35). An exposed part of the plug can be pinched in part to reduce its apparent diameter, thus making the outer tube sections (40,41) distort themselves elastically towards each other, thus facilitating removal of the plug.

A locking member that prevents the piston rod from turning is secured to the front barrel at a position forwardly of the driver. An inner cylinder is movably provided in the front barrel and the tip of the inner cylinder is able to be in abutment with a part of the front interior of the front barrel. A part of a stick that has been projected from the opening of the tip of the front barrel can be restored in the front barrel by a reverse turning operation of the rear barrel.

A fluid application material (35) is positioned on the first surface of the base. The fluid application material is positioned to receive fluid that passes through the aperture from the fluid supply port. The fluid application material is secured to the first surface of the base by a portion of the base that is caused to be molten and fuses to the fluid application material.

The container comprises a substance holder with a radially protruding holder pin, an intermediate cylinder with an open end for exposing the substance and with an axially extending guiding slit, and an outer sleeve with an internal helical groove. The holder pin passes through the guiding slit and is received in the helical groove in such a way that a rotation of the outer sleeve causes the axial displacement of the substance holder. The holder has an axially movable bottom and is thereby capable of ejecting the substance from the holder to provide for its full use. The container has means for self-arresting the movable bottom against substantial back movement relative to the substance holder.

The slide member has a front portion protruding outward from the tip cover and a rear portion including a retaining ring for retaining the pencil lead by a friction action. The clip member has two opposite sides each defining an arcuate recess receiving a ball. The clamp ring is enclosed around the clip member has a bottom defining an inclined surface urged on the ball and a top defining a locking hole for securing the conducting tube and a pencil lead hole allowing passage of the pencil lead. The conducting tube defines a passage for receiving the pencil lead. The passage is connected to the pencil lead hole of the clamp ring and has a top defining an inner curved portion.

Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing a stick of product includes a holder configured to hold the stick of product and a housing containing the holder. The housing has a first end, a second end, and an opening in the first end. The housing is configured to move the holder in a first direction toward the opening to allow dispensing of the product and in a second direction away from the opening to allow storage of the product. The dispenser further includes a removable closure configured to sealably close the opening during storage of the product. A sealing member is provided for sealing at least a portion of the housing between the holder and the opening from at least a portion of the housing between the holder and the second end. The dispenser also includes an elastic member between the holder and the second end of the housing. The elastic member is configured to deform and thereby allow for movement of the holder in the second direction when excessive pressure is formed between the holder and the opening.

Abstract: A lipstick dispenser uses the normally decorative A-shell as a functional element by providing a plurality of longitudinal splines in the interior of the A-shell. The splines fit into notches in an elevator cup to keep the elevator in fixed relationship to the A-shell. A propel/retract mechanism is provided by interacting screw threading on the elevator and on a base that is secured together with the A-shell. The base has flexible upwardly extending friction tabs that ride on the inside of the A-shell and provide a desired frictional drag.

Abstract: A lipstick dispenser uses the normally decorative A-shell as a functional element by providing a plurality of longitudinal splines in the interior of the A-shell. The splines fit into notches in an elevator cup to keep the elevator in fixed relationship to the A-shell. A propel/retract mechanism is provided by lugs extending from the elevator that track in helical tracks in a base that is secured together with the A-shell. The base has flexible upwardly extending friction tabs that ride on the inside of the A-shell and provide a desired frictional drag.

Abstract: A cosmetic dispenser having a decorative shell, and a cap which normally snap fittingly engages the upper portion of the body. Interiorly there is a spline tube having a pair of opposed vertical tracks terminating in an upper catch and a lower catch. A riser cup is provided with a plurality of circumferentially downwardly spaced legs which deflect outwardly to resiliently engage the interior portion of the spline tube. A relaxation taper at the lower portion of the spline tube receives the depending legs from the riser cup and thereby lets them expand to a relaxed condition in which condition they will retain their set. At the opposed portion of the motion, when the cup is near the top, provision is made for windows which are short vertical slots in the cup and in coordinated relationship with the helical track so that at the upper portion of its motion the helical cup legs rest either in the vertical track of the spline tube or in the windows.

The rod-like glue can be extracted and retracted from and to a dispenser main body by moving up and down the glue by rotating the rotary operator element.

Abstract: A pomade stick applicator having a swiveling pomade advancing and retracting mechanism has a two-part base-cap container and virtually air-tight sealing features. These include an interfering snap fit between the container base and the longitudinally slotted inner body, and a resiliently deformable annular seal between the lower end of the helical internal cam and the inner body. This annular seal is urged into telescoping deformed sealed engagement by the container cap applied by the user. The interior of the cap seals the upper end of the shell fixed to the cam, and also provides an inner skirt interferingly telescoped with the upper end of the inner body, prevening swiveling. These seals enclose the pomade stick, blocking the escape of volatiles.

Abstract: A lipstick structure includes an elongated tubular body having a front open to receive therein a stick holder with a lipstick mounted thereon. A longitudinal slit is formed on the tubular body and extending from the front open end to a middle point of the tubular body along the length thereof and a longitudinal slot is also formed on the tubular body and extending from the terminated point of the slit toward the rear end of the tubular body, the slot having a width greater than that of said slit. An expanded hole is formed and connected between the slit and slot. The slot and hole are offset from the slit to define a step-like stop between the slit and the hole. A control tab is mounted to the stick holder by a support tab which is movable within the slit and the slot so as to allow the stick holder to be movable from the rear end of the tubular body to the middle point thereof to have a portion of the lipstick project out of the tubular body for service.

Abstract: A device for holding a stick or rod of spreadable material includes a sleeve or container open on one side, an element co-acting with the stick, and a hand-operated means for varying the distance between the edge of the open side of the sleeve and the stick element. The stick or rod of spreadable material can be an adhesive stick or a wax stick. The stick of spreadable material is packaged separately from the device in an envelope of thin material, and the container includes means for securely holding an envelope of thin material suitable for packaging the stick.

Abstract: "Lock" for this impel/repel lipstick container comprises a downward extension at the lower end of the slot in the inner body. The extension is adapted to receive the pomade cup lug and is partly defined by a margin portion facing in opposition to the direction in which the lug is moved when the cam is turned to raise the cup. When a user attempts to propel the pomade upward by turning the cam relative to the inner body, the cam track merely forces the lug against the margin portion of the extension. To unlock, the salesperson applies a tool upward into the base of the lipstick container to raise the pomade cup so that the lug moves upward out of the extension.

Abstract: The cosmetic container has parts that are interchangeable so that the barrel can be used to contain different fill weights. Different fill weights are used at different times such as during promotions to give about 10 to 25 percent more product. By the selection of different effective length of projections on the lower surface of the cosmetic holder and/or projections and the upper surface of the base portion of the container the distance of the cosmetic holder above the base portion at full retraction can be set to different levels. The effective length is the length that a projection maintains the base portion and cosmetic holder apart. Since the space between the cosmetic holder and the top of the barrel will be filled with product for all product amounts the cosmetic holder setting above the base portion will determine the fill amount. In the technique fewer parts need to be stocked for the differing fill levels.
