A knob rotates the guide tube to open or close a pair of jaw like grips for maintaining a pre-selected length of lead extending from the tip of the pencil.

Abstract: A cosmetic product replacement unit for a base stick module of a cosmetic stick has a replacement housing in which the cosmetic product is present in the form of a refill. A cap or sealing an extension opening for the refill is attached onto the replacement housing. The refill is in push connection with a piston guided in the replacement housing. A piston connecting component, connected to the piston, may be used with a complementary push rod connecting component of a piston push rod as part of a feed device of the base stick module to withdraw the refill. It is possible to bring the piston push rod into push connection with the piston and to position it on the side of the piston remote from the refill. In addition to the cosmetic product replacement unit, a set also has a plurality of base stick modules which have feed devices for the cosmetic product which differ from one another in their mechanical operating principles.

The ramp incline is such that the first stop disengages from the instantaneous second stop as soon as the driver body has covered an advance path which is at least identical to the distance between two adjacent second stops. A pretensioning spring biases the actuating push rod in an unactuated rest position.

A hollow cylindrical shelf having means at one end to support a cosmetic and a pair of interior oppositely disposed male teeth adjacent its opposite end which interact with the threads enables the shelf to ride up and down on the threaded shaft as the knob is turned to thereby expose and retract the cosmetic supported at the upper end of the cylindrical shelf. A hollow exterior cylindrical casing is supported at one end within the base and surrounds the hollow cylindrical self and the cosmetic supported thereon. The cylindrical casing is covered by an exterior cylindrical casing when the apparatus is not in use.

If the material is loaded in the chuck with the claws at the second grooves, the claws elastically deform outward and the claws receive the material. On an inside surface of the front cylinder, synchronous engagement grooves 31 which are engaged with the unevennesses 49a and synchronously engage the push rod 47 and the front cylinder 11 are formed.

Abstract: A double-chuck mechanical pencil has an outer tube, a tip fitting provided in the front of the outer tube, a tip chuck located at the tip of the tip fitting for holding a writing substance (e.g., a lead) and urged rearward in the axial directed, and a delivery chuck for delivering the lead. At least one of the tip chuck and the delivery chuck is formed of a synthetic resin material including polyoxymethylene.

Abstract: A pronged carrier for a cosmetic pomade is provided for use in a cosmetic dispenser such as a lipstick dispenser. The pomade carrier is made of a platform with at least two spikelike blades that project from the surface of the platform. The blades have two blade members and, in a preferred arrangement, one blade member is disposed adjacent to the peripheral edge of the platform and the second blade member is angled toward the center of the platform. When a pomade is placed onto the carrier, the cooperative action of the blade members of the blades secure the pomade on the carrier.

Abstract: A container for keeping and dispensing to the end a semisolid substance such as lipstick or glue. The container comprises a substance holder with a radially protruding holder pin, an intermediate cylinder with an open end for exposing the substance and with an axially extending guiding slit, and an outer sleeve with an internal helical groove. The holder pin passes through the guiding slit and is received in the helical groove in such a way that a rotation of the outer sleeve causes the axial displacement of the substance holder. The holder has an axially movable bottom and is thereby capable of ejecting the substance from the holder to provide for its full use. The container has means for self-arresting the movable bottom against substantial back movement relative to the substance holder.

Abstract: A lipstick dispenser uses the normally decorative A-shell as a functional element by providing a plurality of longitudinal splines in the interior of the A-shell. The splines fit into notches in an elevator cup to keep the elevator in fixed relationship to the A-shell. A propel/retract mechanism is provided by interacting screw threading on the elevator and on a base that is secured together with the A-shell. The base has flexible upwardly extending friction tabs that ride on the inside of the A-shell and provide a desired frictional drag.
