  • Patent number: 6234708
Abstract: A mounting for poles of jumps in equestrian sport, with a dish-shaped pole receiver which is suspended on a generally vertical rail adapted to be fixed to a stand. The pole receiver and the rail can be connected together by bolts which extend in one or more multi-segmented slots having one or more serially connected narrow, wide and further narrow portions. The bolts are flanged, or headed such that the shaft is not as wide as the head. The width of the narrow portion of the slot corresponds to approximately the width of the bolt shaft, while the wide portion of the slot is wide enough to accommodate the bolt head. The slot is able to secure the bolts by firstly introducing the bolt head into the wide portion of the slot, then engaging the shaft with the narrow part of the slot until the shaft comes in contact with the further narrow portion.

  • Patent number: 6213678
Abstract: A hanger apparatus assembled by joining connectors to elongate rods, which connectors define an open side running the entire length of the channel with a rib opposite of the opening for strength and rigidity of the connector. Four openings define oblique angle edges, preferably with a 45 degree angle, for clearance open to four slots that are in line with another forming two opposing groups which allow a flattened end of a rod to be inserted, lowered, and snapped in place. Inserting a rod into both groups creates a simple, economical, and reusable connection of the two rods. Four tabs protrude into the channel with a center line just above the top of the rod to be inserted allowing the rod to be held firmly in the connector and creating a barrier that restricts the rod from starting to moving to a position perpendicular to the connector which is how the rod is inserted and taken out.

  • Patent number: 5788401
Abstract: Joints for coupling the box and pin ends of drill rods and casings, particularly for the mineral exploration industry, have single start, helical tapered threads extending axially intermediate cylinder sections. The threads have frustoconical crests and roots with the taper being about 0.75 to 1.6 degrees. The threads are of a pitch of about 2.5 to 4.5 threads/inch, have negative pressure flank angles of about 7.5 to 15 degrees relative to a perpendicular to drill string central axis and clearance flanks of an angle of at least 45 degrees to aid in maintaining the joint in a coupled condition, even under overload, and facilitate joint make up. Also, the box and pin have shoulders tapered at about 5 to 10 degrees. Additionally, the pin crests have an interference fit with the box roots while the box crests are radially spaced from the pin roots to provide a rigid joint while leaving a space for debris and pressurized lubricant.

  • Patent number: 5772356
Abstract: An adjustable column connector apparatus which provides for quick, easy and accurate installation of columns during building construction. The apparatus includes an inner connector member with a threaded socket, and an outer member with a corresponding threaded body which mates with the threaded socket. The inner connector member is attached to a column end by screws. The threaded body is engaged in the threaded socket, and the outer connector member is rotatably attached to an adjacent structure by a lag which slidably fits within a slot in the outer connector member. The outer connector member is rotated relative to the inner connector member to advance or retract the threaded body within the threaded socket and correspondingly draw down or push away the adjacent structure relative to the column end.

A second rail has a front wall provided with a slot. The front walls of the first and second rails are positionable in confronting relationship with one another. An elongated member has at least one hook extending therefrom. The elongated member is disposed on a back side of the front wall of the first rail with the hook extending through the slots of the first and second rails. The elongated member is movable along a longitudinal axis of the first rail from an unlocked position to a locked position with the hook engageable with the second rail. A pin structure engages transversely between the first and second rail for holding the first and second rail in fixed alignment with one another to prevent relative movement between the first and second rails in a plane generally coplanar with the front walls of the first and second rails.

  • Patent number: 5746533
Abstract: A lockable hinge mechanism includes a hinge member and a pair of elongated tubular members with respective ends pivotably joined to the hinge member for movement of the tubular members between generally parallel and collinear relative positions. In one embodiment, a single hollow cylindrical cuff at least partially surrounds the hinge member and is coaxially rotatable relative to the tubular members through a range of about 180 degrees and precludes relative movement of the tubular members from the collinear position to the parallel position when in one location and allows relative movement of the tubular members from the collinear position to the parallel position in another location. The cuff cooperates with an abutment near said respective ends of the tubular members and has opposed semicylindrical extensions for engaging the abutments. The hinge member also has a pair of opposed semicylindrical end portion for engaging the abutments.

  • Patent number: 5740622
Abstract: An antenna-mounted pennant comprising a flag attached to a body, and a pin. The body comprises two mutually parallel bores: a pin bore and an antenna bore. The pin bore communicates with the antenna bore. The pin bore is sized to frictionally admit the pin. The antenna bore is sized to admit an upper extreme of a standard tapered automotive or boat antenna. Once installed on a tapered antenna, the antenna-mounted pennant is entrapped between the antenna tip and the increasing diameter of the antenna. Where the antenna-mounted pennant is slid downwards on the antenna, the increasing diameter of the tapered antenna shaft renders the fit between the antenna shaft and the antenna bore frictional, whereby the antenna-mounted pennant is immobilized on the antenna shaft.

The washer member is fastened to a side of a first panel member. A keyhole slot is formed in a second panel member, the slot having a relatively large opening portion leading to a relatively narrow opening portion. An aperture is formed in the second panel member spaced from the keyhole slot to define a bridge portion between the aperture and slot. A clip member attaches with a snap fit to the bridge portion and spans the keyhole slot terminating in an abutment portion at its distal end. When the two panels are interconnected, the necked down portion of the washer member is positioned within the narrow portion of the keyhole slot with the abutment portion of the clip retaining the washer therein.
