Abstract: A card retainer device for securing a card module in a channel of a chassis. The card retainer device includes wedge members which have main portions with integrated brackets integrally attached to the main portions, the integrated brackets form first L-shaped brackets which engage walls of the chassis, surfaces of the card module or a combination thereof. The L-shaped brackets provide bearing surfaces which reduces binding and wear when the card retainer device secures the card module in the channel of a chassis and enhances the conductance of heat through the card retainer device. The wedge members provide heat transfer paths between the card module and the chassis. Mating surfaces of mating wedge member interfaces have compound angles that produces an applied force orthogonal to a flange of the conduction card that is greater than the force applied parallel to the flange of the conduction card.

Abstract: An excavator tooth assembly comprises a first wear member and a second wear member. The second wear member is releasably mountable on the first wear member. The first wear member has a lock face. The second wear member also has a lock face. The lock face of the first wear member opposes the lock face of the second wear to define a lock passage therebetween when the second wear member is mounted on the first wear member. The excavator tooth assembly includes a lock pin which is adapted to be received in the lock passage to releasably secure the second wear member to the first wear member.

  • Patent number: 8322942
Abstract: A connector system includes two connector members that can each be mounted to separate objects and then interlocked together to attach the two objects together. In one embodiment, the two connector members are identical and interchangeable with each other. In other embodiments, the two connector members are arranged to attach together objects having perpendicular mounting surfaces or coplanar mounting surfaces. The connector members include an alignment structure having a projection positioned between a first pair of inclined surfaces, and a receiver structure positioned between a second pair of inclined surfaces. The connector members are interlocked together by mating the alignment structure of one connector member with the receiver structure of the other connector member. The relative movement between the connector members causes the inclined surfaces of one connector member to wedge against the inclined surfaces of the other connector member to form a tight and strong connection.

  • Patent number: 8104200
Abstract: A lock that includes a wedge that is used to releasably secure separable components of an assembly together. The wedge can be used with a spool. The wedge and spool are threadedly coupled together to drive the wedge into and out of an opening in the assembly without hammering or prying. The direct coupling of the wedge and spool eliminates the need for bolts, washers, nuts and other hardware so as to minimize the number of parts. As a result, the lock is inexpensive to make, easy to use, and unlikely to become inoperative because of lost or broken parts or due to fines or other difficulties encountered in harsh digging environments. Further, the wedge can be driven into the assembly to provide the degree of tightness necessary for the intended operation and/or to re-tighten the assembly after incurring wear during use. A latch assembly is preferably provided to securely hold the wedge in place and avoid an undesired loss of parts during use.
