  • Patent number: 10744577
Abstract: A cartridge for positioning a cutting insert onto a machining tool has a central longitudinal axis, along which the cutting insert is configured to be positioned and an end wall for supporting the cartridge. The end wall defines a first surface extending beyond the end wall and transversally to the central longitudinal axis. The cartridge includes a rear wall for supporting the cartridge against the machining tool and defining a second surface extending beyond the rear wall and a front clamping wall having a clamping hole. The clamping hole extends along a clamping direction and is configured to receive a clamping screw for clamping the cartridge onto the machining tool, wherein the clamping direction is arranged to intersect the first and second surfaces.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a vertically-mounted milling cutter insert and a multitooth milling cutter, wherein the vertically-mounted milling cutter insert comprises a insert base and a cutter tip unit, the insert base is set with a mounting hole for mounting the vertically-mounted milling cutter insert onto the milling cutter wheel, and the cutter tip unit is mounted on the insert base, and the cutter tip unit has a double-cutter tip structure. In the invention, the vertically-mounted milling cutter insert is positioned via the fitting between a bent-plane structure in the vertically-mounted milling cutter insert and a positioning structure in the milling cutter wheel, and the bent-plane structure will not be abraded in use. Because the bent-plane structure will not be abraded, reliable positioning may be guaranteed when two cutter tips are used.

  • Patent number: 9579736
Abstract: The invention relates to a milling tool for gear milling. The tool body is equipped with tangentially mounted milling inserts having four cutting edges and two holes, only one of which is utilized for a fixing screw in two of totally four index positions. By locating a screw hole in the seat of the milling insert at a distance from the radial support surface of the seat that is greater than the distance between an individual hole and a distal end of the milling insert, a clamping force is provided by means of the inherent elasticity of the fixing screw. In such a way, the milling insert is pressed against the radial support surface. By means of a transversal eccentricity, the milling insert is also pressed against a tangential support surface in the seat. By means of this construction, the two holes in differently long milling inserts can be formed with equally large distances from distal ends. Thereby, one and the same tool body can be equipped with differently long milling inserts.

  • Patent number: 7029210
Abstract: A circulating tool for cutting of workpieces including a carrier element that bears at least one cutter blade insert in an exactly positioned manner. A device is provided for adjusting the position of the insert relative to the carrier element and a clamping device is provided using a clamping claw, with which the insert can be fixed in the adjusted position relative to the carrier element in that the clamping claw presses the insert flat against a support surface. In order to be able to use indexable inserts of any form without providing weakening openings and to obtain the greatest possible measure of free space for configuring the tool and shaving removal with a space-saving configuration of the adjusting and clamping apparatus, the insert is accommodated in a pocket of the clamping claw and the support surface is directly constructed on the carrier element.

  • Patent number: 6942431
Abstract: A rotatable cutting tool, e.g., a milling cutter, includes a rotatable base body and a cutting insert, which in addition to two opposite side surfaces has front and rear end surfaces. For axial fine-adjustment of the cutting insert, a set screw is arranged that is located in an area behind the cutting insert and inclined at an obtuse angle to a side surface of the cutting insert. During an unscrewing of the set screw, it presses against the rear end surface of the cutting insert with the purpose of moving the cutting insert in the direction axially forwards, whereby the screw, due to the obtuse angle, is centrifugally secured by means of the actual cutting insert.

Abstract: A wood processing device having a spinning wood processing head having one or more spaced apart knives mounted on said spinning head for processing wood. The knives, upon contacting said wood, form a curved cut surface in said wood being processed. At least one limit surface is adjustably mounted between said one or more knives on said spinning head, said limit surface being sized and shaped to limit abnormal movement of said wood during processing. An adjustor for adjusting a position of said limit surface is provided to permit said limit surface to limit abnormal movement of said wood over a range of operating conditions. In a preferred embodiment the limiter is curved. A method of adjusting a wood processing head is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6916137
Abstract: A tool holder is held in a support body by a clamp which is wedged between the support body and the tool holder. The clamp is secured in the support body by a threaded fastener that extends through a through-hole formed in the clamp. The fastener carries a flange which pulls the clamp out of wedging relationship when the fastener is unscrewed. A spring disposed in the through-hole functions to keep the clamp pressed against the tool holder even after the clamp has been loosened, in order to keep the tool holder from falling out of the support body. A stopper is disposed behind the tool holder to locate the tool holder in a desired cutting position and to keep the tool holder pressed against an abutment surface of the support body.
