    Abstract: A sliding roof rack includes a base frame which is capable of being removably secured to the roof of an automobile and a movable frame which is configured to either lock in position upon the base frame or be slidingly disengaged and be partially tilted over a side of the vehicle. The sliding mechanism permits an upper portion of the movable frame to remain secured to the base frame while the lower portion of the frame is free to pivot downward along the side of the vehicle.
