Each of the blades is skewed rearward in the direction of blade rotation so that the apparent aspect ratio of blade is increased and to reduce operating noise. Each blade has an angle of attack of between 2.degree. and 6.degree. and has a rake in the direction of flow through the impeller of between 3.degree. and 7.degree.. The impeller lifts water through the housing and directs it into the fish farm.

    Abstract: A vehicle engine-cooling fan assembly for circulating air to cool an engine. The fan assembly has a central hub with a plurality of blades extending radially outward from the central hub. The blades are spaced circumferentially from each other, by unequal spacing angles, around the central hub. The unequal spacing angles minimize noise produced by the fan assembly. The blades are positioned at a radial location along a blade span by unequal setting angles which increase the efficiency of the fan assembly. The blades can have either a straight or a curved planform. Mechanical energy is imparted to the fan assembly from an electric motor, a hydraulic motor, or some other source. Also disclosed is a process for designing a vehicle fan assembly combining unequal fan blade spacing angles and unequal fan blade setting angles.

A high pressure compressor is mounted above the high velocity fan, and finally a turbine is mounted above the high pressure compressor. A venturi tube outlet flares outwardly directly above the turbine and is mounted to the venturi tube. The turbine is connected to a shaft to drive an electrical generator thereby producing electricity.

    Abstract: A high solidity impeller has a number of equally spaced blades, each formed from a sheet that is bent to a continuous cylindrical curve along a roll axis that lags (in the rotation direction) the radius at which the blade is attached to the shaft. The blade also is pitched by rotation around the radius, i.e., the leading edge is raised in the flow direction and the trailing edge is lowered. The roll axis preferably lags the radius by 45.degree.. This arrangement provides a good approximation of a true hydrofoil and results in an excellent reconciliation between interests of material and manufacturing cost vs. pumping efficiency. The blades can be formed by rolling asymmetrically shaped contours cut from a flat sheet. A base member and preferably a connecting arm couple each blade to the shaft. The base member abuts the rolled contour along surfaces referenced to the roll axis, which surfaces can be used as a reference for rolling.

The blade of the fan thereby generates high air flow and high pressure, and has advantages of low noise and ultra-thin outer casing.
