Abstract: A firearm assembly includes a shoulder stock assembly having a hinge arrangement including a first hinge portion mounted within a rear portion of a firearm assembly, and a second hinge portion mounted within the shoulder stock assembly. The shoulder stock assembly and the rear portion of the firearm assembly are movable into and out of locking alignment with one another. A translation linkage is located between the first and second hinge portions for permitting the first and second hinge portions to move into and out of spaced apart alignment with one another. The hinge portions and the translation linkage are substantially concealed from view when the shoulder stock assembly and the rear portion of the firearm assembly are moved into locking alignment with one another.

An action system is connected to the bolt carrier for cycling the bolt carrier in the receiver. A folding butt stock is connected to the receiver, the folding butt stock being both foldable and collapsible.

Abstract: An adjustable pistol grip for improving the accuracy of detachable pistol grip firearms, including rifles, improves the ergonomics for the trigger and pistol grip. The pistol grip is user-adjustable and useable for a larger range of hand sizes. The improvement to provide adjustability allows for proper hand and finger positioning providing improved trigger control to the user.

Abstract: A pivoting firearm handgrip allows a user to pivot the handgrip relative to the firearm into various locked positions. The pivoting handgrip includes a grip base and a grip body that are selectively locked together by a spring biased shaft having key formations. The key formations on the shaft engage keyway formations on finger structures of the grip body. The key structures of the shaft also selectively engage locking formations on supporting structures on the grip base. A spring is captured between the head portion of the shaft and the grip body so that the key formations of the shaft are spring biased to engage the locking formations of the grip base. In use, a user depresses one end of the shaft to disengage the key formations of the shaft from the locking formations of the grip base, and then freely pivots the grip body about the base.

Abstract: A firearm assembly for a firearm can include a monolithic rail platform with a handguard portion and an upper receiver portion. The barrel of the firearm can be positioned through the handguard portion and secured with the upper receiver portion. A firearm assembly can also include a bolt assembly with a bolt carrier having minimized land area and a forward end sized for receipt in the barrel extension at the rearward end of the barrel.

Abstract: A removable butt stock with a curved and rounded butt plate for use in the tactical fighting position is disclosed. The removable butt stock has a single orientation two position release lever for ease of adjustment and removable of the butt stock from the buffer tube of the tactical weapon, ribs incorporated into the receiver bore to reduce drag during insertion of the buffer tube, and anti-rattle springs to securely attach the butt stock to the buffer tube. The body of the butt stock has an angled cheek weld to allow the user to comfortably align the eye on the weapon in the tactical firing position. The butt stock also includes two storage tubes with cam caps designed to be easily removable by twisting in a cam motion up the beveled mouth of the storage tube.

Abstract: A grip for an elongated fire arm has an adapter, a handle, and a spring loaded screw, bolt, and nut. The adapter has a top portion and a bottom portion. The top portion receives a lower receiver of a rifle. The bottom portion has at least two locking tabs adjacent to a base of a shaft extending from the bottom portion of the adapter. The handle has a cavity disposed in an upper portion to mate with the shaft, and at least two pockets adjacent to the cavity to mate with the at least two locking tabs. The handle is rotatable about an axis of the shaft when the at least two pockets are disengaged from the at least two locking tabs.

Abstract: A collapsible stock assembly for a firearm includes a stock body defining a buffer tube passage for slidably accommodating a firearm buffer tube therein. An adjustment slit communicates with the buffer tube passage along a forward portion thereof. A first adjustment mechanism canied by the stock body includes a buffer tube engagement element that can extend into the buffer tube passage and is selectively positionable by a first operating lever. A second operating mechanism includes a second operating lever that is operable to selectively compress the adjustment slit. Disengaging the first adjustment mechanism automatically disengages the second adjustment mechanism. Excessive force on the stock in several embodiments automatically disengages both adjustment mechanisms and minimizes damage to stock assembly and/or buffer tube.

Abstract: A handle (20) for rapidly firing a semi-automatic firearm (22) having a trigger (24). The handle (20) includes a grip portion (52) defining a channel (54). A block (60) that is connected to the firearm (22) is slidably disposed in the channel (54) for allowing longitudinal movement of the firearm (22) relative to the handle (20). The handle (20) also includes a trigger guard (66) disposed on one side of the trigger (24) and extending longitudinally forward of the trigger (24) by a predetermined distance (D) to an open end. The trigger guard (66) presents a finger rest (70) for placing a trigger finger (74) on the trigger guard (66). The trigger guard (66) restricts access to the trigger (24) until the firearm (22) is moved longitudinally forward by the predetermined distance (D) relative to the handle (20).

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an improved buffer tube assembly comprising a buffer tube having a longitudinal forward end, a longitudinal rearward end, and an inner annular surface. The buffer tube further comprises an attachment location operably configured to couple the buffer tube to a lower receiver of a firearm. One novel feature is a dead blow buffer positioned at the longitudinally rearward portion of the buffer tube. The buffer tube comprising an external surface configured to fit within and substantially in contact with the internal bore surface of the buffer tube, wherein the dead blow buffer is configured to receive an impact from a buffer that is attached to a buffer spring fitted within the buffer tube. In one form, the dead blow buffer is positioned between the rearmost portion of the inner annular surface of the buffer tube and the buffer spring.

Abstract: A pivotable and length adjustable firearm stock assembly includes a pivot stock having one end provided with a combined pivoting and latching arrangement movable about a horizontal pivot axis and adapted to be pivotally mounted on a rear end of the firearm. A butt stock has one end slidably mounted on the slide member, and an opposite end provided with a butt plate pivotally mounted thereto. The pivot stock and the butt stock together are movable about the horizontal pivot axis between a folded position and an unfolded position, and the butt stock is slidably adjustable relative to the pivot stock between various collapsed and extended positions.

The cheek riser may be pivotally connected to the butt portion. The invention may be a rifle including the rifle stock receiving a barreled rifle action.

Abstract: A recoil absorption system for a long gun is provided that includes at least one fluid-filled piston shock attached between the body of the rifle and the stock to provide a damped connection between the two. When large caliber rounds are fired, the shocks are permitted to compress, so that the buffer tube is correspondingly permitted to travel rearward within the buffer tube bore of the stock. The stocks detent pin is normally captured within a slot on the buffer tube, such that the long gun recoil causes the buffer tube slot to move relative to the pin, the pin restricts the buffer tube movement and compression of the shocks to the length of the slot. In this way, the recoil energy of large caliber rounds is effectively absorbed, providing a more comfortable and accurate shooting experience.

Abstract: A cheek riser mechanism has a mounting base or saddle that is adapted for mounting to a gun-stock and defines guide rail members. A movable cheek riser member has guide grooves that receive the guide rail members and is linearly movable along the length of the guide rails. Upon rearward movement of the charging handle of an AR15 type rifle the movable cheek riser can be engaged and moved rearwardly by the user's hand or by the charging handle so that it does not interfere with a cartridge charging operation.
