Abstract: An improvement in a device for absorbing the recoil of a rifle fired while extending above a horizontal surface with the barrel of the rifle supported by a rest member. The improvement is a weighted bag member resting freely on and unattached to the horizontal surface. The weighted bag member includes a first strap which extends along the stock and around the butt of the rifle, and a second strap which is attached to the first strap and extends over the stock of the rifle.

Abstract: A monopod firearm aiming support to improve aim and reduce fatigue comprising a standard having disposed at one end thereof cradle within which to rest part of the firearm while aiming it, at the other end thereof a spike and proximate the spike, a foot thruster to force the standard downward into the ground, the standard in some embodiments thereof comprising means of disassembly into two separate parts threaded for reassembly.

Abstract: A rifle harness which comprises a belt, an elbow rest having opposite ends, and a strap having opposite ends. One end of the elbow rest is for receiving an elbow of a human being, or adjacent parts of an upper limb adjacent to the elbow. The other end of the elbow rest, is mounted and adjoining the belt. One of the ends of the strap is mounted to hold the belt, adjacent to one side of the elbow rest. The other end of the strap is mounted to hold the belt, adjacent to a side opposite the one side of the elbow rest. Thus the strap is for running from one of the ends holding the belt, for diagonally crossing up the back of that human being, running over the shoulder joining the other upper limb, and diagonally crossing down the thorax, to finally hold the belt, adjacent to a side opposite the one side of the elbow rest. With this harness, shooting is more reliable.

Abstract: An adjustable rest is provided, comprising a support base; a mounting strap for attaching the support base to a rigid structure, such as a tree, above the head of a user; a first support member slidably connected to the support base; a second support member pivotally connected to the first support member wherein the second support member can be pivoted about at least two axes; a third support member pivotally connected to the second support member, wherein the third support member is adjustable in length; and a resting device operatively connected to the third support member for allowing a selected device to be rested thereon. The resting device may comprise a device for holding a gun, an archery bow, a camera, video recording device, or the like.

Abstract: A shooting stick for supporting a hand-held pistol, includes a post, one end of which is adapted to touch the ground, and the other end is adapted to support the barrel of a pistol. The post is adjustable in length so that the height of the pistol-supporting end above the ground can be adjusted to accommodate the stature of the user of the pistol. A shelf is slidably supported near the upper end of the post in such a way that the butt of a pistol resting on the shelf can be properly positioned in the upper-supporting end of the post. The shelf is pivotally connected to the sliding support, and the post can consist of two pieces slidably interconnected so that the arrangement of shelf and the post parts can be collapsed so as to occupy a minimum space.

Abstract: A portable shooter's bench which includes a seat carried by a pivotable leg assembly and from which assembly a firearm support rest is adjustably mounted. In the preferred embodiment, the seat functions as a carrying handle and the bench automatically folds when lifted to carry.

Abstract: A bipod mounting assembly for attaching a bipod to the forearm stock portion of a firearm, which includes a mounting yoke adapted to quickly and easily attach to the swivel stud connector mounted to the forearm stock portion of the firearm. The mounting yoke is adapted to receive a mounting block thereover, with the mounting block being attached to the mounting yoke to thus attach the mounting block to the forearm stock portion of the fire arm. A bipod mounting frame that includes a pair of extensible telescoping legs is releasably attachable to the mounting block by a quick-release locking catch to enable the quick attachment/detachment of the legs of the bipod from the mounting block, and thus the firearm.

Abstract: Portable equipment for immobilizing personal firearms characterized by an articulation connecting the baseplate to the rail, and comprising an intermediate part rotatingly connected to the baseplate about axis (XX) by a coupling element. The intermediate portion forces the rail onto its contact surface by means of a tilting member. The freely mounted connecting element is connected to the intermediate part by a pivot axis. The tilting member including a head inserted into the rail and a slide integral with the head and the intermediate part.

Abstract: A collapsible and portable gun stand table comprising a table having a tabletop with top and bottom surfaces and at least one channel opening formed in the tabletop. An L-shaped, firearm support assembly is provided having a horizontal section and a vertical section wherein the horizontal section is used for supporting a firearm and the vertical section extends through the channel opening. In addition, there is a gear housing for supporting the firearm support assembly on the tabletop and being movable within the channel opening to allow for lateral, vertical, and rotational movement of the firearm support assembly relative to the tabletop. There is also a plurality of adjustable less pivotally attached to the tabletop.

Abstract: An L-shaped bracket having holes and slots for adaptable attachment to gun racks used on All Terrain Vehicles. The bracket being rotatable in the horizonal plane thereby allowing for gun rotation to any position relative to the vehicle. The bracket further allowing adjustment of the rack in the vertical plane thus providing for gun elevation and depression.

Abstract: A device for supporting a gun from a tree where the gun has a scope and the device supports the gun from the scope. The devices comprises a plate adapted to be attached to a tree by the use of an adjustable strap that surrounds the tree, an arm pivotally attached to the plate and extending therefrom so that an elastic member may be attached to the end of the arm distal from the plate, and a harness having a body and a first and second belt connected to the elastic member. The first and second belt encircle the front end and back end of the scope, respectively, and support the gun. The first and second belts are adjustable so that the gun can be balanced within the harness.

Abstract: A steady rest for guns adaptable to hunters' tree stands having lightweight construction, variable, horizontal, vertical and rotational adjustment.

Abstract: A rifle cleaning cradle for a folding rifle. The cradle is formed by a continuous rod which has base pieces which rest on a flat surface, a braced U-shaped piece at one end and an arch-shaped piece at the opposite end, and means for attaching a bungee cord which wraps around the cradle to hold a rifle in the open position for cleaning.

Abstract: A sling for a long gun and other articles has a belt that fits about the waist and a shoulder strap that passes over the shoulder and fastens to the belt at both ends. The shoulder strap includes two chest mounting members that hold a long gun adjacent the chest so that the user can carry the gun without using his hands. The belt, shoulder strap and mounting members are adjustable. The sling optionally includes a chest strap that fits around the chest and is coupled to the shoulder strap in the front and back.

Abstract: A universally adjustable lightweight pistol and rifle rest having a tapered metal rod member and a sharped foot engaging member for affixation to the ground and having a movable two-point non-metallic gun supporting member for holding either the pistol or the rifle and being vertically positioned upwardly and downwardly along the length of the metal rod member and being quickly and easily angularly turned and elevationally moved to readily sight-in the rifle or pistol.

Abstract: An adjustable holder for a handgun. The holder includes an elongated base having a U-shaped cross-section. The base has a pair of side walls each with an inwardly projecting free edge. A pair of threaded fasteners are rotatably secured to the side walls in opposition to one another for engaging and clamping the handle of a handgun therebetween. An adjustable support member is slidably secured between the side walls and has a notch at its upper end for receiving the barrel of the handgun. A set screw rotatably secured to the support member for contacting the base and biasing the support member into engagement with the inwardly projecting free edges of the side walls so as to selectively fix the position of the support member on the base.

Abstract: A new Adjustable Gun Resting System for providing an adjustable compact gun rest which supports a gun while allowing the user to easily adjust the height of the gun to a comfortable shooting position preventing the user from having to bend over during operation of the gun. The inventive device includes a gun resting base, a supporting means secured to the gun resting base, a gun holding means which supports the gun, and an adjusting means allowing a user to adjust the gun holding means for the height of the user.

Abstract: A sling for use with a fiream. The sling includes a rigid body having a pivotable connector front end, a releasable connector back end, and a firearm engagement section located between the front and back ends. The rigid body is shaped to form a loop for receiving a user's shoulder once the front end is affixed to the hand grip section and the back end is affixed to the butt section. Furthermore, the rigid body is shaped such that as the back end of the rigid body is released from the butt section and the rigid body is pivoted on the pivotable connector, the firearm engagement section is brought into contact with the firearm to allow the back end of the rigid body to be planted and thus support the firearm during firing.

Abstract: The gun support of this invention comprises a base having a front end and a rear end, a front leg support assembly longitudinally movable between the front end and the rear end and having a pair of front support legs, and a rear leg support assembly at the rear end having a rear support leg. A gun forearm rest assembly is mounted to the front end of the base, and a gun butt support assembly is mounted to the rear end of the base. The front leg support assembly is so constructed that the front legs are longitudinally movable relative to the rear leg support assembly and the gun forearm rest assembly, and so that the front legs are pivotable between downward and outward support positions and inward collapsed positions. The base is so constructed that the rear leg support assembly is longitudinally movable so that the rear leg is longitudinally movable relative to the gun forearm rest assembly, and so that the rear leg is pivotable between a downward and outward support position and an inward collapsed position.

Abstract: A firearm rest having a platform with mounting blocks at opposite ends and a shaft journaled in the mounting blocks and turned with an operator. A pair of links are hinged together in the middle forming a bed for resting the forward end of a gun stock. One of the ends of the joined links is hinged to one of the mounting blocks while the other end is hinged to a traveling nut that is threaded on the shaft and quickly disengagable therefrom. The height of the bed can be quickly raised or lowered by disengaging the nut from the shaft, manually moving the nut along the shaft thereby decreasing or increasing the distance between the ends of the joined links and changing the elevation of the bed. Fine adjustments can be made by rotating the operator when the nut is engaged with the shaft.

Abstract: A two-piece adjustable molded plastic pistol rest which permits a fork member to be retained within a base member to facilitate storage of the pistol rest. The pistol rest includes a base member and a detachable fork weber engaged with the base member. The base member has a front surface which defines a center channel and two outer channels. The outer channels are positioned on either side of the center channel, and the center channel includes a number of spaced-apart interior guide ribs. The fork member includes an upright body and two forks extending divergently from the upright body. The upright body has a plurality of spaced-apart exterior guide ribs which mesh with the interior guide ribs to confine the fork member to one of a plurality of upright positions relative to the base member. The upright body also includes two guide arms that extend within the outer channels in the assembled state of the pistol rest.

Abstract: A firearm rest comprising a base and a rifle seat component. The rifle seat component is attached to the base by a cooperating pin connection or formed integral therewith. The base includes at least one channel capable of receiving a tie down member such as a rope or other article for secure attachment to a vertical support surface. The base also includes a platform having a plurality of pin receiving bores. The seat component includes a channel which includes an optional cushion for receiving a rifle. The seat includes upwardly projecting walls and a pin extending substantially perpendicular from the walls. The pin or pins are configured to be received within the bores of the base.

Abstract: This invention provides a method and apparatus for conveniently organizing weapon articles, such as rifles, shotguns, pistols, bows, arrows, ammunition, ammunition holders, eye and ear protection, muzzle loading equipment, tools, and the like for use outdoors. The organizer comprises a tray member having a plurality of organizing areas for receiving one or more of the weapon articles. The tray member also comprises a plurality of notched areas and a slotted member having a slot for supporting, for example, rifles and a gun cleaner, respectively. The tray member is mounted on an I-shaped support which has a rung or engaging member towards a planting end thereof to facilitate forcing at least spike located on the planting end into the ground. The organizer enables a shooter or archer to organize and support weapon articles at any desired location a predetermined distance above the ground to make it convenient and easy for them to shoot.

Abstract: A stand for storing multiple handguns that includes a base and a vertical panel perpendicular to the base. The vertical panel contains a number of slots with a follower behind the panel and studs extending through the panel to engage a threaded cavity in the follower. The stud and follower slide in the slot and are locked in place by a stop ring on the stud. The barrel of a handgun slides over the stud and the heel of the grip may rest on the base.

Abstract: Support apparatus for a rifle having a barrel, a bipod and a butt, the apparatus including a ground mat having first and second recesses wherein the first recess is adapted to secure the rifle bipod and the second recess containing a telescoping member is adapted to support the butt of the rifle.

Abstract: An adjustable firearm support for use in adjusting the sights of a firearm is disclosed. The firearm support includes a substantially horizontally disposed tube having an armrest movably attached to one end thereof and a gun cradle movably attached to an opposite end thereof. A telescopic stand is pivotally and slidably coupled to the tube by a clevis and facilitates providing vertical support for the tube. The stand, in turn, may be releasably clamped to the stationary object. The clevis is rotatably engageable with the tube so as to permit the tube to be rotated in a horizontal plane. The clevis is further pivotal so as to permit the tube to be pivoted in a vertical plane. The firearm support is not limited in its application to adjusting firearm sights but may be set up at a hunting site, and attached to a tree stand or other solid object, for use in providing a steady rest when sighting and firing at game.

Grasping the knurled hand grip allows the shooter to steady the wrist of the hand grasping the hand grip while the other hand deploys the pistol barrel in the recessed groove and braces atop the wrist of the first hand to provide a rigid pistol firing position.

Abstract: A portable shooters bench rest includes an elongated flat table panel of rectangular contour having a pivoted support leg at each corner. A forward support member is elevationally positionable above the table panel. A rear support member is positionable elevationally above the table panel and axially along the length of the table panel. A recoil-absorbing resilient tether can be employed whereby one extremity of the tether is attached to the table panel, and the opposite extremity of the tether is attached to a rifle resting upon the bench rest.

Abstract: An apparatus for supporting a firearm has a base, at least one hinged surface securement member attached to a bottom surface of the base and an extensible firearm support port in the base. An upright locking member is removably placed within the extensible firearm support port. An extensible firearm support is removably connected to the upright locking member. A plurality of seating member ports are in the base and are arranged in symmetrical sets of four. The extensible firearm support has an outer extension tube member and an inner extension tube member slidably, removably and lockingly disposed within the outer extension tube member. The upright locking member is hingedly and removably attached to an end of the outer extension tube member. A firearm stabilization member is removably connected to an end of the inner extension tube member. The inner extension tube member is slidably and releasably locked to the outer extension tube member by a first locking pin.

Abstract: A bipod support for a firearm comprises a first strut and a second strut angularly related to each with one of the struts having an elongated projection serving as the rest for the barrel of a rifle or a pistol when the two struts are positioned upright on the ground. In one embodiment, the first and second struts are hinged to each other so that they may be folded relative to each other for compact storage. In an alternative embodiment, the first strut is a hollow tubular member and the second strut may be placed inside the first strut in a coaxial telescoped manner for easy storage. One end of the second strut is beveled so that when it is inserted in an opening in the wall of the first strut it forms the desired angular relationship therewith. A series of rubber grommets on the barrel of the second strut resiliently engages the inside wall of the first strut when the two parts are telescoped together to thereby frictionally maintain the parts together and avoid relative movement therebetween.

Abstract: A shooting rest comprising a pair of elongated rods having a preselected cross section and a duplex function clamp means for receiving the rods and holding the rods with the longitudinal axes thereof being in a plurality of preselected angular relationships. Abstract: A device for assisting in the adjustment of sights for a hand gun including a base elongated in the direction of the axis of the barrel of the gun. The forward end of the base includes a pair of lateral spaced support legs, and the rear of the base includes a single vertically adjustable support leg. Adjacent the forward end is a spacer block having a bolt hole extending laterally therethrough. A clamping jaw is located adjacent each lateral side of the spacer block, with the clamping jaws having resilient foam or similar material on their inner faces. These inner faces are adapted to abut against the lateral sides of the frame of the hand gun to retain it in position and absorb recoil when the gun is fired. To move the clamping jaws into a clamping engagement with the hand gun, there is provided a bolt extending through the hole in the spacer blocks and the associated clamping jaws, with a manually operable nut threaded upon the bolt to provide a clamping force.

Abstract: An arm steady rest provides support of the arm, particularly the forearm and/or wrist, of a person holding a relatively heavy or bulky article (e.g., rifle, archery bow, video camera, etc.). The arm rest is attachable to the belt or clothing of the user, or may be tied or strapped to the user, or used as a monopod resting upon another surface. The brace arm of the device telescopes, and moreover provides for axial motion of the two telescopes elements relative to one another while they are longitudinally locked at a fixed length. Adjustability is provided for both the upwardmost and downward/forwardmost positions of the brace arm while in the extended position. The device may be drawn from the downward or retracted position to the upwardly extended position and locked therein, or vice versa, with one simple motion of one hand; no additional manipulation of other components is required. Frictional security is provided to hold the brace arm in the downward position when not in use.

Abstract: A firearm support is provided with a receiving and attachment means for receiving the firearm and securely holding it. The attachment means engages with the sling mount bolt of a firearm and draws the firearm and firearm support tightly but releasably together. The attachment means includes gripping arms with pins that engage a sling bore in the sling mount bolt. The attachment means also includes a fixed body or neck with an inner bore that receives the sling mount bolt and gripping arms. The inner bore has an elongate camming surface to engage an outer surface on the gripping arms for urging the pins into the sling bore and holding them in place as the gripping arms and sling mount bolt are pulled into the inner bore. The firearm support includes a telescoping leg that has an internal lock to maintain the leg in a closed or carrying position with respect to the firearm.

Abstract: A new and novel holder or support device unit for use in shops, stores and in the field, the holder being the type that may be used to display and/or rest various items such as rifles, pistols, still cameras, video cameras and the like. The new and novel holder is semi-rigidly formed in a single component from a foam which provides a microcellular inner core and a tough integral leather-like exterior surface providing enough inertia absorption, impact resistance and resiliency that the device can be easily and safely used to support a firearm, while discharging the firearm, as well as effectively and safely supporting other items. Items may be placed and held on the holder in a desired position and for a specific purpose such as customer display, cleaning, maintenance, disassembly, and/or field steadying of the item. Also disclosed is a novel method of producing the unique holders described herein.

Abstract: A new and improved long gun stabilizer includes a rigid panel element which is connected to a side of the stock of the gun. The rigid panel element projects outward from the side of the stock and is positioned on the side of the stock such that a hand of a user can be placed under the rigid panel element. The rigid panel element rests on the hand of the user, whereby the gun is stabilized on the hand of the user. The rigid panel element includes a contour that is complementary to a contour of a portion of the hand of the user, such as the top portion of the hand. The respective complementary contours provide a snug fit between the top of the hand and the rigid panel element. A channel in the stock receives an edge portion of the rigid panel element. The gun includes a first sight assembly, and the rigid panel element is placed beneath the first sight assembly on the stock.

Abstract: A gun rest comprising a central compartment of a shape which allows the barrel of a gun to be conveniently supported, and one or more attached compartments utilized to stabilize and support the central compartment. The compartments are intended to be filled with a substance such as sand, and incorporate closures comprising an inverted spout, one side of which is made from the hook part of a hook and loop fastener, and the other side of which is the loop part of a hook and loop fastener. A closure such as a spout and pocket closure may also be used.

Abstract: A scissor type foldable hunting seat, comprising a pair of "U" shaped tubular members, each having a pair of vertical legs jointed by a horizontal fastening edge; both tubular members are coupled through their vertical legs; at least one of the vertical legs having a stop pin near its middle portion; a seat of flexible material grasped to the fastening edges of the tubular members; a weapon support arm having an upper vertical end and a "U" shaped horizontally bent lower end presenting two branches articulately fastened to the vertical legs of the tubular members and a horizontal connecting member which rests in the stop pin of the vertical leg to maintain the weapon support arm in a hunting position and allows to be folded when folding the seat; and a variable height weapon retaining fork coupled to the upper vertical end of the support arm.
