Abstract: The invention provides an odor removal composition characterized by:(a) a complexing agent selected from a biguanide polymer of the formula (1) ##STR1## in which R, R.sup.2, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are each a substituted or unsubstituted alkylene group having up to 12 carbon atoms in the main chain, HX is an acid; and n has a value of 2 to 20.(b) a carrier capable of assisting wetting of odor forming compositions; and(c) a cationic moiety; said moiety being part of a chemically independent compound, or chemically associated with a complexing agent or the carrier.
Abstract: A new deodorant composition is now provided, which comprises as an active ingredient for deodorization a reaction product which is obtained for reacting either polyethyleneimine or ethyleneimine-alkylene oxide copolymer having a molecular weight in the range of from 100 to 5,000 with monochloroacetic acid in a weight ratio of 1:0.3 to 1.0, optionally in association with conventional additives used for deodorizing utility. The deodorant composition according to this invention may efficiently be used to deodorize all bad odors evolved from a wide variety of sources.
Abstract: A deodorant comprising a Diels-Alder reaction-type adduct of an alpha,beta-unsaturated dicarboxylic acid anhydride and an olefin or a derivative of the adduct as an active ingredient. A composite material, a resin composition, a resin article and a foam each containing the deodorant.
Abstract: A deodorant composition is now provided, which comprises at least one of alcoholic amine compounds, at least one of organic zinc compounds and water, the proportion of each component being 1% to 60% by weight of alcoholic amine compound per 100% by weight of the composition, 0.1% to 40% by weight of organic zinc compound and the remainder of water. The deodorant composition according to this invention may efficiently be used not only to deodorize acidic bad odors but also to inhibit corrosion of steel material.
Abstract: A deodorizing material used for deodorization with respect to human and animal excreta by mixing at least one iron(II) or iron(III) compound selected from the group comprising ferrous sulfate, ferric sulfate, ferrous chloride, ferric chloride, ferrous nitrate, and ferric nitrate, in a cellulosic material and a cellulosic formed material.
Abstract: A deodorant composition in concentrate form for abating the odor of organic refuse, said composition being in suitable form the application to said organic refuse in spray form, comprising:(a) from 5 to 15% by weight of isopropanol;(b) from 2 to 8% by weight of a glycol selected from the group consisting of propylene glycol, 1,4-butanediol, and butylene glycol;(c) from 30 to 60% by weight of water;(d) from 20 to 40% by weight of an emulsifying and surfactant agent selected from the group consisting of sodium lauryl sulfate, glycerol monostearate and alkyl phenoxy polyethoxy ethanol;(e) an effective amount of a binding agent selected from the group consisting of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, methyl cellulose, and 2-hydroxyethyl cellulose; and(f) as an active deodorizing agent, from 5 to 15% by weight of said concentrate composition of an essential oil.
Abstract: A method of deodorizing articles, devices, and solutions involved in or used in medical and biological procedures including endoscopic procedures and associated solutions and materials. The method is to treat the materials and solutions to be deodorized with 2,5-hexanedione or with 2,3-pentanedione as a chemical deodorant. In a preferred treating composition the chemical deodorant is used as an aqueous solution containing a small amount of an essential oil-type masking agent and an oil solubilizing surfactant.
