Abstract: The present invention relates to natural compositions for lowering blood pressure, and treating various conditions associated with the occurrence of high blood pressure. These compositions can comprise two or more of the following ingredients in amounts which are effective to treat blood pressure conditions, e.g., (a) Hainan Holly leaf (e.g., Ilex hainanensis Merr.), (b) Chinese Hawthorn fruit (e.g., Crataegus pinnatifida Bge. or Crataegus cuneata Sieb. et Zucc.), (c) Garden radish seed (Raphanus sativus L.), and (d) Oriental persimmon leaf (Diospyros kaki L.f).
Abstract: The present invention features a method of inducing an anti-angiogenesis effect within a tumorous region in the body of a mammal, wherein the method comprises the steps of administering, to a patient, a formulation comprising processed Morinda Citrifolia, wherein the processed Morinda citrifolia blocks formation of new blood vessels within a tumorous region by inhibiting tubule elongation and endothelial cell migration. Blocking the growth factors of said endothelial cells within said tumorous region inhibits tubule elongation and endothelial cell migration. In a preferred embodiment, the processed Morinda citrifolia comprises fruit juice and puree juice in various concentrations.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method of preparing an extract of the herb sea buckthorn. In the absence of oxygen and metals berries of sea buckthorn are mixed with a vegetable oil and the mixture is incubated, which results in the extraction of liposoluble components of the berries into the vegetable oil. The extract is then separated from the berries. A composition is prepared of about 5 to about 95 wt % of the extract, 0 to about 95 wt % of an extract of a herb selected from the group consisting of rose hips (Rosa species), St. John's wort (Hypericus perforatum), chickweed herb (Stellaria media), plantain herb (Plantago major), calendula flowers (Calendula officinalis), and mixtures thereof, prepared by extracting liposoluble components of the herb into a vegetable oil in the absence of oxygen and metal, 0 to about 10 wt % of an essential oil, 0 to about 15 wt % of an antioxidant, and 0 to about 80 wt % of a diluent. The composition is applied to open skin lesions to promote their healing.
Abstract: Compositions derived from traditional Chinese herbal medicines, medicinal plants and extracts thereof, are provided for the prevention and treatment of cancers especially cancer of the lung, esophagus, stomach, oral cavity and prostate as well as for treating Helicobacter pylori infection. Abstract: This invention provides a method for identifying a composition of Cinnamomi and Poria. This invention further provides a composition comprising: Ramulus Cinnamomi, Poria Cortex, Moutan Radicis, Radix Paeonize Alba, and Semen Persicae. This invention provides various uses of these compositions.
Abstract: The present invention provides tyrosinase inhibiting extracts from dictotyledonous plant species indigenous to Canada and compositions containing the extracts for the treatment of skin, particularly skin lightening. The present invention also provides a method of detecting tyrosinase activity in an extract of a dicotyledonous plant species indigenous to Canada.
