Abstract: Snake repellents include a repellent composition, an inert carrier and an adjuvant. The snake repellents include an essential oil selected from a group of essentials oils or a reagent from one of the essential oils. Methods of repelling snakes include exposing snakes to the snake repellents by aerosol, vapor or fog.
Abstract: The use of menthyl 2-pyrrolidone-5-carboxylate as an insect repellent, usually by application to a substrate or into an air space. The menthyl 2-pyrrolidone-5-arboxylate can be used as a composition, which may be perfumed. A useful composition comprises a mixture of menthyl 2-pyrrolidone-5-arboxylate and a known insect repellent or a compound shown to be an effective insect repellent on a test described herein.

Abstract: The present invention is directed toward a method for inhibiting COX-2 in an organism. In particular, the method is preferably directed toward selectively inhibiting COX-2 in an organism. The method comprises administering to the organism an organic extract isolated from a non-edible plant wherein such extract inhibits COX-2. A method to purify a composition that exhibits COX-2 inhibition and COX-2 selective inhibition from the organic extract is also provided. In addition, a method for treating and/or preventing COX-2 mediated inflammation or inflammation-associated disorders in an organism is provided.
Abstract: A composition is provided for use in health foods for promoting the circulation of blood, prepared from medicinal herbs, including Lycium chinense Miller, Agastache rugosa (Fischer et Meyer) O. Kuntze, Pueraria lobat Ohwi, Macrocarpium officinale Sieb. et Zucc., Gastrodia elata blume, Amomum xanthioides Wallich, Cratagegus pinnatifida Bge., Aquillaria Agallocha Roxburgh, Inula Helenium L., Cassia obtusifolia L., and Rubus sachalinensis Lev., and young antlers of Cornu cervi. In addition to being safe to the body, the composition exhibits excellent pharmaceutical effects of treating arteriosclerosis and alleviating the headache attributed to the disturbance of blood circulation.

The medicament is anticipated to be administered perorally in form of tea, a tincture and a pill.
Abstract: A chemical composition and method useful in the treatment of stored potatoes is disclosed. The chemical composition includes a mixture of a substituted naphthalene compound and an odor-neutralizing ingredient. The instant invention also discloses a method for reducing the odor of naturally-occurring or applied substituted naphthalenes. The odor-neutralizing ingredient neutralizes the odor associated with substituted naphthalene compounds.
Abstract: The provision of a lawn pesticide, its manufacturing process and pest extermination processes, that is water soluble, capable of being diluted in water, capable of being applied in concentrations appropriate to the environment of the treatment site and the development of the lawn, and can demonstrate prophylactic properties on lawns. The lawn pesticide is constituted from refined oils extracted from the botanical matter of the hinoki family and an amino acid derived surfactant solution, the two components are stirred and mixed, left to mature for at least two weeks at room temperature, and the refined oils extracted from the botanical matter of the hinoki family are uniformly dispersed in the water by the amino acid derived surfactants. The refined oils extracted from the botanical matter of the hinoki family contain substances such as hinoki thiol, which possesses antibacterial, bactericidal and insecticidal properties.
