Furthermore, the present invention is a quick assembly hot runner nozzle design. The present nozzle design provides for the easy installation and removal of the nozzle by means of turning and sliding the nozzle. This provides for easy installation or removal of the nozzle when servicing the mold in the machine and without the complete disassembly of the hot runner mold. The seal located on the nozzle tip seals the tip area to avoid plastic leakage. Positioning the seal closer to the gate area also contributes in increased nozzle tip mass thus resulting in a better heat distribution profile along the nozzle tip, and especially in the area closer to the gate.

One method of strengthening a mould having mould body and mould walls as an integral unit is to include at least one insert into each of the mould walls. These inserts are of stronger material or materials as compared to the mould material. Each of these inserts is of the same height as that of the mould wall at the position where it is located. Another method uses reinforced walls which are separate units, with the reinforced walls made of a higher strength material or materials than that of the mould body. The reinforced walls are coupled to the mould body either by fasteners or by welding or bonding or by any other suitable means. The invention also relates to moulds including strengthening according to one or more of these methods.

Abstract: In a molding machine, a fixed platen which supports a fixed die is disposed on one end of a base plate. A movable platen which supports a movable die and a supporting mount which supports each one end portion of the four tie bars are mounted on slide units. The movable platen and the supporting mount are advanced so as to close the die, a tip portion of each tie bar is locked to the fixed platen by a lock mechanism, and a die clamping cylinder provided on the movable platen is actuated to generate a clamping force so as to execute molding. After that, the lock mechanism executes an unlocking operation so as to cause the movable platen and the supporting mount to retreat to a die open position. Furthermore, an attaching and detaching mechanism releases the die clamping cylinder so as to cause only the supporting mount to significantly retreat from the movable platen, and thus the four tie bars are completely evacuated from the fixed die and the movable die.

Abstract: A holder integrated type base board made of synthetic resin integrally molded with a plurality of holders for inserting LEDs on a front face side of a base board main body and a mold therefore. The mold includes a first mold for molding a back face side of the base board main body and a second mold opposed to the first mold for molding the front face side of the base body main body. In addition, the mold includes a holder molding cavity provided at the second mold which is constituted by an insert die capable of being inserted into and detached from the second mold main body. When it is necessary to correct a position of a portion of the holder in a trially fabricated base board, a position of an LED inserting hole in the base board can simply be corrected by drawing the insert die for molding the holder from the mold main body and interchanging the insert die with a new insert die. As such, an entire first mold does not have to be reproduced.

Abstract: A die assembly (10) having a first die part (12), which includes a first lip (16) that, in combination with a second lip (18), defines a feed gap (20). The first die part (12) also includes a rear portion (22), a front portion (24), a slot (26) between these portions (22,24), and a gap-setting device (28) that is mechanically movable within the slot (26) so as to enable the movement of the front portion (24) relative to the rear portion (22). The first lip (16) is carried by the front portion (24), whereby movement of the front portion (24) in one direction moves the first lip (16) relative to the second lip (18), thereby adjusting the feed gap (20). The geometries of the slot (26) and the gap-setting device (28) are such that movement in a second opposite direction is limited to a known position, thereby providing a registration position for the front portion (24) of the first die part (12) and thereby providing a registration position for the first lip (16).
