Abstract: Durable crease and wrinkle resistance properties are permanently imparted to fabrics and garments by treating the same with a novel composition prepared by reacting a urea with a condensation product of an aldehyde, an amine and phosphoric acid under curing conditions.
Abstract: A non-woven fabric having a fibrous surface similar to that of leather and high mechanical characteristics so that it is adapted for use as a substitute for leather in industrial applications is prepared by saturating a matt of fibers with an elastomeric polyurethane which can be cross-linked with moisture. The so obtained composite laminar structure, having a thickness of from 0.1 to 10 mm, has a density of about 0.85 to 1.4 g/cm.sup.3, a hardness of 85 to 95 Shore A and a tensile strength of about 1.5 to 2.5 kg/mm.sup.2, and possesses a water-vapor permeability in the range of about 30 to 100 g/m.sup.2 /24 hours according to DIN 53 333.
Abstract: There is disclosed a method for producing aluminum coated steel comprising cleaning the surface of a steel substrate by grid- or shot-blasting or by pickling followed by rinsing with water and thermal spraying with aluminum thereon in a thickness ranging from 30 to 300 microns while heating said surface sufficiently to maintain it at a temperature ranging from about 100.degree. to 500.degree.C.The aluminum coated steel may be thereafter be treated by heating it at a temperature ranging from 150.degree. to 600.degree.C for 3 minutes to 24 hours after it has been cold-rolled to a reduction of area from 5 to 80% or after it has been hot-rolled at a temperature ranging from 150.degree. to 600.degree.C.
Abstract: A method for producing clean surface treated wood by subjecting the wood, containing the treating agent and its carrier, to steaming under pressure thereby to cause the solvent in the atmosphere about the wood to condense on the wood surface during the steaming, thereafter reducing the pressure to about atmospheric pressure, removing the carrier vapors from association with the wood as they form, and continuing the steaming until the carrier is substantially removed from the wood.
Abstract: A method of obtaining alkaline battery separators. Such method comprises ultraviolet irradiation in the presence of a sensitizer and oxygen contained in the air of low density polyethylene film at ambient temperature and normal pressure to effect cross-linking and subsequently graft polymerizing an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer into the irradiated film under the action of heat and compression of the film.
Abstract: An adhesive composition for bonding together metal sheets in an extremely short time, which is an intimate mixture of (I) nylon 66, nylon 6, nylon 610, nylon 11 or nylon 12 and (II) a semicrystalline copolyamide such as a copolyamide of hexamethylene diammonium adipate, hexamethylene diammonium sebacate and 6-amino-caproic acid, in a ratio by weight of (I):(II) from 99:1 to 90:10.
Abstract: A laminated decorative sheet is prepared by applying a coating layer consisting of a thermo-setting resin composition on a base paper for a decorative laminate which has been prepared by incorporating a composition the whole or a major part of which is composed of a synthetic rubber and/or a thermo-plastic synthetic resin substance into the base paper during the paper making thereof or by impregnating the base paper with the thermo-plastic synthetic resin composition or with the mixture thereof; or alternatively is prepared by laminating another base paper for a decorative laminate which has been impregnated with the thermosetting resin composition on the above mentioned base paper containing the thermo-plastic synthetic resin composition, and the thus prepared layers are laminated under heat and pressure to form a laminated decorative sheet having smooth surface which is subjected to emboss-processing under a heating condition of at least 100.degree.
