Abstract: Photoconductive layers containing a crystallization inhibiting mixture of at least two different organic photoconductors selected from the class of photoconductors represented by the following formula ##STR1## wherein R is selected from the group consisting of alkyl, aralkyl, and substituted and unsubstituted aryl;X and X' which may be the same or different are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy, hydroxyl, NO.sub.2 and halogen;Y and Y' which may be the same or different are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy, hydroxyl, halogen and NO.sub.
Abstract: A photosensitive member having at least two electrically operative layers is disclosed. The first layer comprises a photoconductive layer which is capable of photogenerating holes and injecting photogenerated holes into a contiguous charge transport layer. The charge transport layer comprises an electrically inactive organic resinous material containing from about 10 to about 75 percent by weight of: ##STR1## R.sub.1 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen (ortho) CH.sub.3, (meta) CH.sub.3, (para) CH.sub.3, and R.sub.2 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, (ortho) CH.sub.3, (meta) CH.sub.3, and (para) CH.sub.3. The charge transport layer while substantially non-absorbing in the spectral region of intended use is "active" in that it allows injection of photogenerated holes from the photoconductive layer, and allows these holes to be transported through the charge transport layer.

Abstract: The present invention provides trisazo compounds expressed by the general formula I ##STR1## [wherein A represents ##STR2## (wherein R represents hydrogen, alkyl radical, alkoxy radical, nitro radical, dialkylamino radical or halogen, and n is an integer of 1, 2 or 3, R may be either identical or different when n is an integer of 2 or 3)]; a process for the preparation of said trisazo compounds; and electrophotographic sensitive materials having a high sensitivity as well as a high flexibility which comprise a conductive support and a photosensitive layer containing a trisazo compound, as an effective ingredient thereof, which is expressed by the general formula II ##STR3## [wherein A' represents ##STR4## (wherein Z represents aromatic rings such as benzene ring, naphthalene ring, etc., hetero rings such as indole ring, carbazole ring, benzofuran ring, etc. or their substituents, Ar.sub.1 represents aromatic rings such as benzene ring, naphthalene ring, etc., hetero rings such as dibenzofuran ring, etc.
Abstract: An electrophotographic plate comprising a conductive substrate and a photosensitive layer containing an organic photoconductor layer composed of a hydrazone compound represented by the general formula (I): ##STR1## (wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are an alkyl, aralkyl or aryl group which may or may not have a substituent, n is a number of 1 or 2, and A is an aromatic hydrocarbyl group or aromatic heterocyclic group which may or may not have a substituent) and a binder.
Abstract: The present invention provides disazo compounds expressed by the general formula I ##STR1## wherein A represents ##STR2## in which R represents alkyl radical, alkoxy radical, nitro radical, dialkylamino radical or halogen, n is 0 or an integer of 1, 2 or 3, and R may be either identical or different when n is an integer of 2 or 3. The disazo compounds are useful as photoconductive substances or charge-carrier generating substances in various kinds of electrophotographic elements.
