Produced By The Action Of An Isomerase (e.g., Fructose By The Action Of Xylose Isomerase On Glucose, Etc.) Patents (Class 435/94)
  • Patent number: 4206284
Abstract: Saccharification of low DP polysaccharides of high glucose content syrups by short term contact with amyloglucosidase e.g. 1-10 hours, 1-10 AG units/gm of syrup solids, and syrup concentrations of 5-25 w/o solids in a batch saccharification, less than 30 minutes in a continuous process employing immobilized AMG.Suitable high glucose content syrups are co-products that result from fractionation of isosyrup into 50+% d.s.b. fructose syrups and from production of crystalline dextrose.

  • Patent number: 4205128
Abstract: Immobilized enzyme compositions for industrial use are produced by reacting an enzyme and/or enzyme-containing microorganism cells with an anion-exchange high molecular substance having a quaternary pyridine ring in the molecule, and then subjecting the reaction products to molding and drying in a molding machine. A polyfunctional crosslinking agent may be added at any stage of the process. The immobilized enzyme compositions thus prepared can be packed in a reactor of an industrial scale for continuous enzyme reaction.

  • Patent number: 4173514
Abstract: Mannitol-rich aqueous solutions of sorbitol and mannitol are prepared by a process which includes (1) epimerizing glucose in aqueous solution to obtain an epimerizate containing approximately 30 percent mannose and 70 percent glucose on the dry basis, (2) contacting this glucose-mannose epimerizate with a glucose isomerase enzyme to produce a glucose-fructose-mannose solution, and (3) hydrogenating this glucose-fructose-mannose solution to produce an aqueous solution of sorbitol and mannitol.
