The connector includes a base, having a plurality of terminal containing grooves formed in the base and arranged separately adjacent to each other. The power wire includes a power core and a power terminal electrically coupled to power core, and each power terminal is plugged into each corresponding terminal containing groove. The ground wire includes a grounding core and a grounding terminal electrically coupled to the grounding core and plugged into the terminal containing groove. The signal wire includes a signal core and a signal terminal electrically coupled to signal core, and the two signal terminals are plugged into the terminal containing grooves respectively and not arranged adjacent to each other, so that signals can be transmitted without interfering with one another.

    Abstract: A snap tight electrical connector for securing and grounding an electrical cable or conduit to a junction box. The electrical connector includes a one-piece, electrically conductive connector body with a seat on the leading end and an electrically conductive snap ring held in the seat. A raised grounding lug on the seat of the connector body extends through a notch in the snap ring and provides a direct path for establishing an electrical grounding path between the connector body and the junction box. Locking tangs on the snap ring provide a secure snap-fit engagement between the connector body and the junction box. The raised grounding lug on the seat of the connector body provides a direct grounding path between the connector body and the junction box, thereby improving electrical continuity and lowering the millivolt drop between the connector body, the junction box, and the electrical cable or conduit secured to the connector body.

This is one step beyond the primary assignment of contacts as single-ended or differential signal contacts. The contacts themselves may also receive a secondary assignment according to their desired transmitting, receiving, or buffering function.

    Abstract: Disclosed are methodologies for defining matched-impedance footprints on a substrate such as a printed circuit board, for example, that is adapted to receive an electrical component having an arrangement of terminal leads. Such a footprint may include an arrangement of electrically-conductive pads and an arrangement of electrically-conductive vias. The via arrangement may differ from the pad arrangement. The vias may be arranged to increase routing density, while limiting cross-talk and providing for matched impedance between the component and the substrate. The via arrangement may be altered to achieve a desired routing density on a layer of the board. Increasing the routing density may decrease the number of board layers, which tends to decrease capacitance and thereby increase impedance. Ground vias and signal vias may be arranged with respect to one another in such a manner as to affect impedance. Thus, the via arrangement may be altered to achieve an impedance that matches the impedance of the component.

A host controller coupled to the device supplies a control signal to at least one of the pins on the device during a setup phase. The pin that receives the control signal is used for active signaling during normal operations of the device. An analog or digital selector circuit connects the pins to correct internal circuit components according to the device orientation.

One of the connecting elements of the IDE power terminals is mounted along the detour guide to prevent short circuit and facilitate manufacture. Therefore, the SATA power terminals are not separated by a separate insulator for improved production yield and performance.
